I was shocked to be reading all of this about Fifth Disease. I am 38 and have had a daughter who had Fifth Disease. Then, about a week later I felt like I was hit by a truck. I was SOOO tired, but wasn't thinking this viurs. Anyway by the end of the week, I went to the doc, which I NEVER do, and he said it's probably Fifth Disease being that your daughter has it. They took a blood test, which my WBC was low.

He had plaque under the gums and the doc was worried once she saw his bloodwork about him trying to fight any potential infections in his state. He definitely had kidney disease before the dental. I can see that in hindsight. I just did not know it at the time. Flushing - I think that is what we have been doing all weekend from home??
Her only complaint was she had gotten really really dry skin. She was totally ready for chemo though until her doc said no. I am shocked and well now getting really annoyed. The problem here is it seems everyone has given up on her and it breaks my heart. I am new to this website so how do I ask the doc?

It is heartwrenching to hear what you are going through, particularly as it brings what happened to BB and our 'family' all back. I can tell you that kidney disease can fool you into thinking things are ok for a while, as there are good and bad days, but sadly the bad days become more common and eventually there are only bad days with no good ones. I would agree with what others have said, once a dog stops eating completely, the time is very close (probably two or three days at most).
She probably has some kind of tumor other kidney disease. No way to tell with out spending hundreds of dollars( I don't have.) And the bottom line is she is dieing anyway I just wanted to let you know so that you don't worrry about your dog. According to my vet cushings disease does not stop them from eating and does not make them throw up. For the last 6 months or so I have had to be careful and pick her up just right or she would cry.
You're right abt the symptoms resembling menapause. Dr needs to to do hormone ck of FSH & LH to see if you're possibly peri- menapause. Get copies of labs for hm-file to read or compare later. The Keflex may be causing some of the problems. Anti- biotics many times affect the good stuff that helps heal us. Have you seen a Dermatologist? This skin condition sounds like it should be treated w/ topical rays/solutions/maybe even a laser light. Sometimes less is more. Use a clean cloth ea.
