I have been having seriously burning and itchy lips for the past 3 weeks. I went to the pharmacy. The pharmacist said it was cold sores, and recommend me the Zovirax cream. I used it for a few days and the the painful feeling was somewhat suppressed. However, after stopping using the cream, my lips were cracked and dry and tingling. Dehydration is the commonest cause of dry cracked lips but you appear to be taking enough fluids. The other possibility is iron and Vit B deficiency. Along with multivitamin B (not a multivitamin which also has other vitamins) take an iron preparation and see. They can also be caused by allergies and infections. You could either be suffering from contact dermatitis or from allergy to some food. You should get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to.

t know what the blister is from but you need to start drinking a lot more water. dry cracked lips need lots of water to heal. The blister may be a cold soar and go to any drugstore for a medicated lip balm.

My lips are Soooo dry this pregnancy. I do a lip scrub equal parts sugar and coconut oil (or olive oil) and scrub for 6 minutes Or so gently. Then I put a little more oil/ a thin layer on as chap stick after I wash off the scrub then I use Burt's bees chap stick throughout the day. It's helped Soooo much.
