Avatar f tn While you're on that train you'll realize that the distance from Euphoria to Eureka is not that long. Just one or two stops. If you see Rod Serling on the train, tell him I said Hi !
Avatar n tn Methadone is a much longer acting opiate that vicodin, but it will still give a form of euphoria. Your doctor is probably prescribing the methadone to give you better pain releif for a longer period so you don't have to take as many lortab. At one point when I was having severe neck pain, my doctor also put me on lortab and a small dose of methadone. Please be careful, as both drugs are very addictive and methadone is very hard to withdrawal from.
Avatar f tn I think that is one of the biggest fears for all of us . Life after the pill ! But you will get better I promise . It takes some time but you will feel better then ever ! I remember one day about a month and a half out I was just driving my car on the freeway and all of a sudden I just started to scream out my window I was feeling so much euphoria that I just couldn't contain myself . I will always remember that day as it was one of the best and you will have yours too !

1196338 tn?1265163728 Hello, I am new to this community, I suppose I should tell you a littlebit about myself first.. Well, I am a CP patient who was in a MVA accident a couple of years ago, and have been taking opiates for my pain. I am a little shy to ask this because I don't want to be judged as being an addict or something, but I always thought that you could tell that a narcotic was working based on that warm fuzzy feeling you get..
15680251 tn?1442231385 Most of the worst addicts I knew started off as moderate users, as i did myself. I used cocaine and heroin occasionally in my early 20's. (that's where i could have first picked up my HepC condition from IV drug use). I was functioning, working, everything i thought was great. Then i had a meltdown one day, and because i had used before, and had gotten energy and euphoria, i took that route again.

401095 tn?1351391770 Initially, taking drugs increases dopamine levels, but over time, it actually has the reverse effect. That is, dopamine levels go down. And one of the reasons that we believe that most addicts have trouble experiencing pleasure is that dopamine is important to the experience of pleasure, and when the levels are low you don't feel so good.
Avatar f tn Depending on the dose of Opana you will be taking it should still give you the euphoria as it is a stronger opioid than oxycodone; however, I would recommend you to be careful with it, and take it exactly as prescribed (don't split the pill in half or crush it to remove the time release coating) as you will get the full dose all at once which could be dangerous.
Avatar f tn Euphoria of course is something to watch out for. If any anti-depressent brings on any kind of personality change of any kind you should inform your psychiatrist right away. Motor restlessness such as akathesia is a side effect of SSRI's such as Prozac that is not that uncommon. That can be treated with a side effect pill. Speak to your psychiatrist about that. Sometimes Prozac doesn't work as well after a while but that is usually long term.
Avatar f tn For me the new drugs han no side affects. I think that was pretty much the same for everyone in the study. For everyone who has been waiting and waiting I hope this is it. Some back ground on me I am now 62 yrs old have had the virus for about 40 yrs and I am cirrhotic.Even with cirrhosis I feel like I have been given a second chance my liver is no longer under attack. I exercise, don't drink and try to eat clean.
Avatar m tn ve been feeling extremely bored and also experiencing severe anhedonia/dysphoria ever since I quit these drugs. I have a feeling that this is caused by the Tramadol because whenever I took it to get high, the Tramadol would make me feel mentally numb, like it made me feel dumb and not mentally sharp. Tramadol may not be powerful in the traditional opiate way, but it seems like it has a profound effect on your way of thinking.
1214626 tn?1288106214 As to why it is being snorted, snorting is a way addicts use certain drugs as a quicker way to achieve a high than ingesting. Opiates give a feeling of greatness and euphoria that nothing can explain. The reason people pay so much for them is in short one of the more potent pain killers.
Avatar n tn the risk of high blood pressure aswell as the harm it does to your immune system can be devastating. The only advice i would give is that if you are going to be doing drugs or alcohol make sure that your friends know how to help you out should you have a hypo and also keep a blood glucose monitor handy because certain drugs will be cut with glucose etc that will mess around with your control.
Avatar f tn Bupe is great for a break from the rush and euphoria to give time to build aftercare and deal with some of the reasons we use, but it is an opioid. What is your plan with the bupe, are you building a support system and coping skills? That is what will save you. Had I only used bupe and nothing else, I would be dead by now. So, what's your plan or are you here to get advice about a plan?
Avatar n tn Hi pitcher, I want to Welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and to let you know how GLAD we are that you have found this Forum. I need to be sure that you understand that there are NO Doctors on this Forum. We are ALL CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other thru our own Expertise and Experiences that we have accumulated thru our own private Pain Battles. Skmedlin is correct in that you SHOULD get more continuous pain control thru the Fentanyl Patches than the Methadone. Your Dr.
Avatar f tn the energy buzz or euphoria isnt there for many from these drugs orally so they are abused by IV use to get high....if u simply have to have something daily for pain then i would stay away from the oxy if u have a problem with hydro...talk to ur doctor...be safe and check out the pain forum..
Avatar m tn i rememeber one saturday taking pill after pill trying to recapture that euphoria i used to have from 1/2 of a pill...
1269044 tn?1393189903 I mentioned before I was free and clear of opiates then I found kratom. Well I'm on day 4 cruising into day five but still feel kind of crazy. I feel like I've been in this state for eternity and it will never end. Just need reassuring I guess that I've hit the halfway point. Kratom withdrawals are REAL don't be fooled by things you read online. It definitely does not produce the same intense euphoria as true opiates bit it still messes with them. Thanks for listening.
Avatar m tn Hi guys. Any advice hugely appreciated. I have developed a drug dependancy over the past two years but have struggled to accept that I'm addicted. Purely because I never crave from drugs day to day and, if not around other people taking them, can quite happily go for weeks without them. My problem is that once I have a line (usually mcat or coke) I am unable to stop.
Avatar f tn I don’t think or say that I’m the perfect person for him or for anyone. He feels that I am and that if he doesn’t feel it for me that he should just give up and assume it will never happen for him. He’s very serious. He even worries that maybe he changed to gay. I disagree. He doesn’t have attraction for men either. I support him no matter who he falls for. I love him wholeheartedly and want him to be happy. He also worries he could have changed to Asexual but he wasn’t before.
8659741 tn?1399221226 The rush of winning the high stakes black jack game or having an orgasm, slamming H or runners high all have a lot in common. Drugs induce that euphoria and pleasure when one first starts taking them, then gamble or have sex and it amifies it. As tolerance builds, the amount of natural chemistry sex can flood the brain is not enough goodies to even feel satisfied. I even noticed feiends who did lots of MDMA couldn't even get aroused for sex, even though they were high, after awhile.
Avatar f tn how life could be, and I hold on tight to the knowledge that I can live without opiates..that I can think clearer, that I have hope in my life again. The euphoria didn't last, but the feeling that things will/can only get better (step by baby step) has remained.
