Common Questions and Answers about Drugs forum ketamine

drug

Avatar m tn Many nasally inhaled drugs, including Ketamine, can cause irritation/inflammation of the mucous membranes in the nose, throat and sinuses. That could account for the blood in your “spit”. Generally when this happens, it is a good idea to give those membranes “a rest” by resorting to another method of drug administration. On the other hand, the Ketamine might not be the cause of bleeding.
Avatar f tn For anyone reading this who feels their life and their personality is being overwhelmed by having CPS, consider Ketamine. Find yourself a ketamine specialist , make an appointment and go in for a chat. You have nothing to loose. I hope your lucky like me and receive a very welcome benefit from it. My suggestion though, if you and your doctor decide to go ahead, keep the number of people you tell to a minimum.
Avatar f tn As an ex ketamine addict I know the seriously damaging effect ketamine can have on the body and am shocked to hear that a doctor is willingly prescribed it to a patient as a means of helping them. Although I can offer no advice on how it affects seizures or colonscopy, I am very curious to know why ketamine was actually given to a patient and what the doctor wished to achieve through such a dangerous and damaging drug?
Avatar m tn I learned to freebase cocaine with my dad, I started taking robotusin, trazedone, percs, whatever I could get my hands on. By 20 I was comboing mushrooms, ketamine, mdma, acid, etc. Eventually I was even deported from a foreign country I was living in for trafficking ketamine and mdma. The biggest addiction for me was alcohol.. I consumed it in massive quantities from sun up to sun down, at work etc along with whatever was around.
Avatar m tn Anyone know anything about Ketamine for W/D?? My husband should be in full W/D tomorrow.. but researching how to help with w/d he found this Ketamine. Has anyone here ever used it?? I just dont' want him to trade one drug for another. Any info would help.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've just stumbled across this forum and think I can offer some answers to your questions :) I have a 6mm Chiari Type 1 Malformation and also suffer from RSD / CRPS as a result of cancer and a serious MVA. So far I haven't had the decompression surgery although I'm a candidate as I'm a bit nervous about it as the Drs here in Australia haven't been able to offer me great percentage chances of success.
739070 tn?1338603402 I 'm scheduled for my first ketamine infusion tomorrow and now at the last minute , I am getting scared. My son told me of stories of kids using "special K' , street quality ketamine and their bad reactions. He didn't mean to add to my anxiety but he did as did a lot of what I read on the net. When this treatment was last discussed by the pain doc , I had just finished a S-P block and was not totally with it.
Avatar m tn But I used several other drugs to ease my withdrawal, including ketamine, xanax, soma, marijuana, and klonopin. After about day 10 I felt more or less normal. That ketamine was a LIFE SAVER, it was the only time I felt normal during the withdrawals (even at the peak on days 2-4). But the benzos and soma helped with the insomnia and RLS.
Avatar f tn Currently I am scared I will test positive as I had used a small amount of IV Dilaudid as well as a small amount of IV ketamine. This is something that I typically do not do, don’t make any habit out of it and speaking honestly I can say I’m not addicted to it and was merely trying it out of curiosity. It had been a few days before the urine test that it was introduced into my system and I’m worried that I would pop a positive test for this.
Avatar f tn I seen something the other day im pretty sure it was feeling symptoms after drugs a year ago i took a edible to try it out..
Avatar f tn t just thinking.... they told me I had been given a very high dose of Ketamine to keep me from coming to on the operating table with my leg slashed open. It was by far the most frightening drug I have ever taken. I made it through the 70s sharing the belief that the good folks from Dow Chemical proclaimed and that was "Better Living Through Chemistry". not even the most scary window pane LSD comes anywhere close to being so terrifying.
739070 tn?1338603402 We set up my ketamine to be once a month for the next 6 months. It can be altered of needed during that time. For those of you who were asking about the Sphenopalitine block, Dr. Shaw knew of the Cleveland Clinic Pain Center but did not know anyone specifically at the center.
1154462 tn?1327434379 Hi everyone, Recently my psychiatrist has suggested me considering an experimental drug called Ketamine NMDA antagonist. this is used for treatment resistive major depressive disorder (MDD). He did say that side effects include confusion and that he's only used it for 5 years but is the only doctor who can administer orally and nasally besides intravenously.

794366 tn?1418009395 I have treatment-resistant depression for decades. My doc wants to try ketamine on me nasal or iv infusion. Has anyone tried this or had a good or bad experience with it? Please let me know. Tried ECTs, TMS, and many old and new anti-depressant medications. Meds works for about a few months.

1715040 tn?1309224532 Hi Jac, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am so delighted to hear of your success with the Ketamine Infusion treatment. Wonderful! I am sure you are not "addicted" either. However your body doesn't know the difference. Unfortunately and sadly, you will experience the same symptoms of withdrawal that an addict or abuser will experience. I think your best suggestions will some from our very good Addiction and Substance Abuse Forum.
Avatar m tn or what ever you want to call it, the only way to know is to have a blood test done. Even then there is no guarantee that anything will show up. The drugs do not stay in a persons blood system very long. The 3 most common drugs that are used are: GHB (which is the one most people hear about), flunitrazepam and Ketamine. The bad news is that some of the side effects of the drugs that are commonly use do have the same symptoms that you mentioned.
Avatar n tn 3) Do you know anything about drugs which agonize the NMDA receptors? Someone I spoke with on an internet forum dedicated to depersonilzation disorder was discussing NMDA agonists, which have the opposite effect as ketamine, PCP and the like. I am very interested in this but can't find any solid information? Are these drugs still being developed?
Avatar m tn I'M A 46 YR. OLD MALE. I HAVEN'T DONE THIS GOING ON FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I HAVE IN THE PAST TAKEN UP TO 4X'S THE DOSE OF MY PRESCRIPTION DRUGS FOR SEVERAL MEDICATIONS. I HAVE DONE THIS ALONG WITH TAKING MY REGULAR DOSAGES OF ALL MY PRESCRIPTIONS. NOW IT GETS TRICKY. I WOULD END UP AFTER A FEW HOURS VERY INTOXICATED AND HAVE TO BE RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE I COULDN'T WALK/SLURRED SPEECH. I'VE ONLY DONE THIS ON 5 ACCASIONS. I WOULD BE HOSPITALIZED OVERNIGHT OR TWO.
Avatar f tn My physiatrist is starting to think that I should try ketamine infusions. He also gave my a central sensitization survey which I scored well above what was needed to qualify. I am in the metro DC area, so I am working on getting into the Johns Hopkins pain treatment center. I would welcome any suggestions as well as any suggestions of doctors that do ketamine infusions. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, so everything is a bit more fragile on me if that relates to any theories on pain.
Avatar m tn As o_mogh said, you would KNOW if you had been raped anally. What I find more disturbing is that you did not mention being drunk, and especially being drunk to the point of blacking out or passing out......but you just don't remember. You said that when you woke up your pants were off and this person told you it was just oral and YOU WERE AWAKE.........but you have no memory of any of this?
