1210047 tn?1265994928 After 16 yrs on Zoloft, 12 yrs Zoloft w/Gabitril, I felt over medicated. Weaned off Gabitril, over period of 6 months, and no trouble sleeping through the night, or other anxiety. Felt much better, since Gabitril made me physically tired, and mind was 'foggy', as my Dr. stated. Recently weaned off zoloft, simply stopping. No side effects of depression, though tremendous stomach upset prompted me to go back on, after being off for 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn Typically, when we have someone on anti-depressants that also suffers from migraines, we co-prescribe Gabitril (available as generic Tiagabine ) which is not to be confused with Gabapentin. This way the anti-depressant maintains its effect while addressing the migraine frequency and severity. An additional benefit of Gabitril is its anti-anxiety benefit as well as improved sleep cycle.
Avatar f tn Hi there. This could be CRPS or regional pain syndrome. There is usually no cure for it. Pain can be attempted to be relieved with psychotherapy, physical therapy and drugs like topical analgesics, narcotics, corticosteroids, antidepressants and anti seizure drugs. Other modalities are sympathetic nerve blocks, surgical sympathetectomy, intrathecal drug pumps and spinal cord stimulation. Discuss this possible diagnosis and management modalities with your neurologist. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn I am a clinician myself and very green in the field. My doctor put me on Gabitril 4mg tablets twice a day in combination with clonazepam 0.5mg twice a day to help with chronic debilitating migrane headaches. When I first started I asked him many times if there would be any addictive potential with the clonazepam since it was a benzo. He repeatedly told me that it was must neglible dosage and that it was just helping to boost the effectiveness of the gabitril in preventing my headaches.
Avatar f tn I've suffered chronic back pain for 10+ years. I'm off all opiates now after being on them for more than 5+ years. I'm now taking lots of vitamins and minerals to promote and maintain my general well-being. My only prescription meds now are Amitriptyline (100 mgs @ bed) and Parafon Forte (4x per day). I just got a Spinal Cord Stimulator, which helps my sciatic pain, but my lower back pain is still pretty bad.
Avatar f tn Mine is more touch sensitive. I did take Gabitril and it worked wonders for the spasms and sensitivity. It or something like it may be helpful to you. I hope things get better for you soon. Welcome to the forum there are some great people here. Best wishes.

Avatar m tn I have nerve damage from herniated disk and have the same problem. I tried things like muscle relaxers and neurontin but they didn't work. Finally my doctor put me on gabitril and they finally stopped. It is a seizure medication. As far as your legs giving out my best guess would be the spasms are overworking them. I know I would wake up and feel like I ran the iron man marathon. I had even occasionally kicked my husband out of bed.
Avatar f tn Are there any drugs to help the weakness and the peripheral neuropathy? I would be very grateful to know ASAP!
Avatar n tn I also have nerve damage and neurontin made me crazy. The doctor prescribed Gabitril and it worked great for me. There is not really anything that can be done for nerve pain. You can block it with pain shots from a pain specialist or take pain pills. Maybe taking a hot shower, muscle rubs, and anti inflammatory like ibuprofen will help for now. Try and get her into a doctor asap and check on the shots or a TENS unit. My tens helps me when my nerves get out of whack. Best of luck to you both.
Avatar m tn The only medication that helps with nerve pain is nerve meds like Xanax Valium, Gabitril, ect I have permanent nerve damage and took Gabitril for a while then when my symptoms lessened started taking the Valium as needed. The Valium also helps with leg spasms. Complex B vitamins help to heal the nerves. I was on a medication called Mentanx which is just a complex b vitamin mix and it was working. Unfortunately I have herniated disc and had to stop due to the pain.
1680627 tn?1304834882 I take Gabitril for nerve pain along with a lot of other things..the gabitril helped at first but not as much now..but It might help others more.. feel free to pm me any time if you need to talk..
Avatar f tn m taking Dilantin (was already prescribed) , Gabitril, Celexa, Klonapin, and Darvocett for the migraines. Well I have been on this for about 2 weeks and have been seek with vomiting/nausea for the last week and on top of that had another seizure. Is there anyone currently taking the same medication and it has been beneficial? Also another question did anyone else's eyesight get bad after they started having seizures and wearing glasses and vision seem to decrease?
Avatar m tn Do you think that's ok when you consume soft drugs like marijuana or hashish?
Avatar m tn Also you may want to see if your doctor thinks that a medication for nerves like Gabitril or neurontin will help. Best of luck to you. Hope you get better soon.
Avatar n tn i'm a 19 year old girl,i have been using drugs since i was 14 almost every weekend, from exstacy to snorting narcotics and everything inbetween. At first it was just a laugh, i'm not a confident person but when i'm on drugs i'm the life and soul, my problems disappear and i'm happy. The past few months i have been worried about the damage i am doing to my body and a few weeks ago my worries came true.
Avatar m tn Are a majority of members on this forum from the Phillipines? I'm from Southern California, USA and in reading a lot of these posts, I can tell that the English/grammar is somewhat different than I'm accustomed to. Also, a lot of the drugs suggested by members are not found in the USA. And people keep on mentioning Fibroscan, which is something I am unable to find in the US.

352798 tn?1399298154 This forum is here to help those who want to get off of drugs. Please do not use it to find out how long drugs stay in your system. The internet searches will give you that answer. We all work hard here to get and to stay clean. That is the main focus here.

684030 tn?1415612323 I'd like to suggest the addition of a forum covering the topic of: Medications (prescription and/ or over-the-counter drugs).

Avatar n tn Could you be so kind to tell me about how many drugs are prescribed to be taken after a 5 bypass surgery? Is it about 9 different drugs? This discussion is related to Fast heartbeats after CABG.

Avatar f tn sorry prob did put in wrong forum, and yes i agree that it is legal in some countries on prescription, but my reason for this post is that whilst iknow it aint the worst drug to take or the biggest crime to make some peoples views on it are not good especially when advising people who suffer long term drug abuse and is trying to cope with anxiety. Where i lives it is very much a crime, they have put it up to a class b drug which comes with a 2 to 5 year sentence.
965357 tn?1247340053 Hi there. I am 40 and the only drug I tried was chlomide. I get pregnant easily on my own, but have had trouble carrying, so the thought was the chlomide would increase my progesterone, plus give me a better chance at a healthy egg. Using chlomide actually had the reverse effect and seems to have prevented me from getting pregnant. It is not recommended for older moms to be.
Avatar f tn The main question is this, after reading so many posts of what folks are suffering from the tx drugs, it seems clear to me that the drugs are a definite stress on the liver. So if I have compensated cirrhosis w/o cancer (best case scenario) how likely are the tx drugs going to kill whatever s left of my liver before it kills the virus? Thanks to you all and I want you to know that you inspire me with your brave fight.
Avatar m tn Hi all! I'm new to this website/forum. I had an IUI done on Nov 20th and am in the dreaded 2ww. I have been reading up on signs for early pregnancy. I experienced cramps shortly after the IUI and a couple days after. Also, experiencing sore breasts/nipples. Anyone else have these symptoms and have a positive pregnancy test after their first IUI?
