624839 tn?1221807899 Caution has to be exercised when using Fentora together with Diphenhydramine containing drugs. The combination may result in severe constipation and paralysis of the bowels (ileus). It could also cause you to have difficulty in coordinating movements, and may lead to excessive sleepiness and stupor, and respiratory depression. If the Fentora is not controlling your pain adequately, the dose may need to be increased. But I don't think it's a good idea to mix it with Diphenhydramine.
Avatar f tn I'm seriously addicted to Diphenhydramine (in Benadryl, etc.). Is anyone here addicted to this stuff that seems to be NOT addictive to everyone else but me? I finally found a place on the internet that talks about being addicted to Diphenhydramine HCI Like I am. I saw a member's (Unisom) posts here from a few years ago ...I had to write him and anyone who may be on here reading this.
Avatar m tn Anyone else has been or still addicted to diphenhydramine? Im psychologically addicted to this stuff since 4 years now. it seems to be an incredibly rare addiction...
Avatar f tn I am wondering if I can get some advice from a Doctor about having to take otc Diphenhydramine HCI 50 mg every night. I am currently taking other medications as well, Tegretol 400 mg daily- for mild epilepsy, Aciphex-gastric reflux, Uracit K-for potassium & kydney stones & little pills to make me pee. I have had trouble sleeping for years & did a sleep study about 6 years ago, was told I had sleep disorder. Hmm....well I kinda knew that & wasn't told how to deal with it.

1722607 tn?1335747858 I wanted to know the names of different medications that might be prescribed during treatment. Names of rescue drugs, anti nausea drugs, or any others that may be given during treatment. I want to look them up thru my insurance to see how much they will cost me if needed. Just trying to budget how much treatment could end up costing.
Avatar n tn i took tylenol pm last night and just wanted to know how long it takes until the diphenhydramine gets out of your system because this is one of the things tested for in my urine, even though it is rediculous because I had a headache and needed it.
Avatar m tn Is it safe to take 3 tablets of diphenhydramine (75 mg) if 2 tablets (50 mg) doesn't help my insomnia?
Avatar n tn See your family physician or rheumatologist to help with itching. There are over the counter meds like diphenhydramine(benadryl) to help with itching. Also you could see a dermatologist to further investigate the cause as well as try drugs like atarax for itching. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I am planning to take 12mg Xanax, 250mg Diphenhydramine and around three rounds of Jack Daniels (Alcohol). I read this combination would result in death, but just I am ok if I sleep and for 2-3 days. I am from India and I got my Xanax pills from a pharmacy with no doctor's prescription. My body is very new to these pills. I do not have any medical problems before, I am a very healthy male at age 25. I just want to know this would not be a lethal combination.
535822 tn?1443976780 Hi, welcome to the forum, your history is suggestive of physical urticaria. The triggering factor should be identified and further exposure should be avoided. This condition can be diagnosed with proper history and allergen challenge test by skin specialist or immunologist. Initial treatment includes start of second generation anti histamines, as it is not improving, in such cases doubling of the standard dose helps against prescription.
Avatar m tn but when i take this, it takes about 1-2 weeks of taking the ceterizine to show up. i have did try to take diphenhydramine and chlorpheneramine maleate, but i became tolerant to those drugs too fast.
1808884 tn?1324345703 I answered that on one of your threads, and gave you some tips on how to find some relief. WITHOUT resorting to nasty drugs like Diphenhydramine,Clonidine etc. Natural remedies are always the better choice.
Avatar f tn that is benadryl//generic name...not sposedl7y habit forming tho...if u r in the midst of recovery that is a safer drug than most..in reality any drug we take for sleep can become mentally addicting..be safe and let us know how u r doing..
Avatar f tn m not a doctor and would never suggest medication on this forum, and I believe an actual doctor would need to see you in person and order up scientific studies prior to medicating you. What gave me the urge to write you is the fact that, for me, waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and getting back to sleep in due time has never been a guarantee for me since age 45!! Speaking only for me, based on my experience, sleeping throughout the night is really rare.
Avatar f tn I know there are posts on diphenhydramine abuse on here already, however the ones that I've found are a few years old. I am wondering if anything new has come up on diphenhydramine abuse. There is still limited information online about it. Reading other people's articles has shocked me because my reaction to diphenhydramine is quite different. I'm a heavy user, usually about 20 a day, ten at a time. What makes me feel different is my lack of negative side effects on it.
Avatar f tn I believe the Tylenol extra strength contained about 500 mg of acetaminophen in each capsule. The offbrand Benadryl contains 325 mg of acetaminophen, 25 mg of diphenhydramine HCl, & 5 mg of Phenylephrine HCl in each capsule. Was this okay to do? I saw on the package later this morning on the offbrand allergy medicine that it says not to take with other drugs containing acetaminophen.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm on Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)now and also wanna take a HIV PCR test, does Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) affect the test result?
1399363 tn?1462342610 Antihistamines are a known trigger for people prone to supraventricular tachycardia. All my life, I was unable to take allergy drugs because of this reason. I would check with your physician, and pharmacist because I think there now may be compounds available with give the desired effect without the side effects. You could also address the tachycardia issue and eliminate that which would allow you to take any antihistamines with experiencing the side effects.
6530778 tn?1456883801 https://drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=242192 Hey there. I've never taken it myself but this thread looks promising. In a nutshell it says that it's a opiate potentiator and long term use will bring opiate like withdrawal symptoms. Also this, an article which looks like it has some info as well. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1451752/?page=2 From what I can tell it seems like you'll have an opiate like WD to deal with.
Avatar m tn Diphenhydramine IS safe to take. I have used it many times durring detox a few times! I have been told by Docs and rehab councilers it is safe. Thank God!!!LOL Nyquill is NOT though, because of the alch. in it. Congrats on the new found freedom, hang in there. Avatar f tn I just want all of you out there to know that my friend took an overdose of diphenhydramine last night. He took 100 of the 25 mg pills. Within 30 minutes he had horrible halucinations, and then around 4 hours later he was violently throwing up blood and stuff. He couldn't walk well and coordination was bad. This morning he slurs when he talks. He has had a stroke. The reason he did this was because he was diagnosed with cancer. Pancreatic and lung. He was given less than 6 mos.
Avatar f tn A wide variety of substances may cause hives in sensitive people, including foods, drugs, and insect bites or stings. Common culprits include:nuts, especially peanuts, walnuts, and Brazil nuts, fish, mollusks and shellfish ,eggs ,,wheat and milk . You can treat it with antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Also cotinue to apply calamine lotion. If you can figure out what set this off and avoid it , the rash will be gone. The black marks will be a result of scratch marks.
