Avatar f tn The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..
Avatar m tn I will probably have a needle biopsy done to check the progression of my liver disease and if possible just wait for the newer drugs such as Solvad and Olysio or Slovad and Ledipasvir as they would probably be easier on the kidney. Some years ago I heard an interesting interview on the Larry King show about HepC, kidney disease and drugs. Larry was interviewing Natalie Cole, the singer and daughter of Nat King Cole.

Avatar f tn Hi there. I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.
Avatar n tn Hello Ursamere. As you probably know, we're not physicians here, but are happy to share our experiences with you so you can explore the ideas further with your diabetes team. I'm also a long-time DMer - about 35 years. 5.6 is an excellent a1c and as one who's not (yet) achieved an a1c under 6, I admire the work & discipline it takes to achieve that.
Avatar f tn Many vets consider stage 3 and stage 4 kidney disease to be the same thing. Kidney damage generally cannot be reversed in this stage; often, the kidneys can't even be stimulated to function temporarily. Symptoms of Stage 3 Kidney Disease in Dogs Your dog probably won't begin showing symptoms of kidney disease until he reaches stage 3 of the disorder. Your dog will begin urinating a lot more, as his kidneys struggle to continue filtering toxins from the blood.

Avatar f tn I am type 2 diabetic, diabetes is the highest risk for liver cancer much much more than hbv, make regular liver checks by ultrasound every 6 months, as to liver damage due to hbv it is very difficult because acute hbv makes no fibrosis and no liver damage dispite high alt, you might only have occult hbv which is not very common and usually makes just slight increase of alt not like yours if you eat fat and bad quality industrial food you might have fatty liver disease which is same as hbv and
Avatar f tn When HIV has low body weight (less than 60kg or about 130 lbs) they found higher kidney damage and found lowering Viread dose helps in this population. Is this transferable to HBV? I am low body weight at 115 lbs (eat healthy and exercise). I am worried about kidney damage as my age increases (now 41), with low body weight, and knowing this medication is long term/for life. How common is kidney damage on HBV only? I do not want to have to worry about my kidneys now too on top of HBV.
Avatar m tn ve read that the liver is the organ that processes all the drugs and supplements that we take, and considering we have a chronic liver disease, may be we are more susceptible for increased damage to the liver. I'm by nature, very conserved about taking drugs of any sort, unfortunately, I've been diagnosed with the chronic hepatitis and chronic kidney disease which have reduced my quality of life drastically.

Avatar m tn My only risk factor is high bp due to kidney surgery as a child that has been controlled by meds. My EKG indicated damage and I had troponin levels of 6 and then 5. The cath showed totally clear arteries and no damage. The diagnosis was coronary artery spasms. I'm within reasonable weight, cholesterol is good, don't smoke, no drugs. What causes this and what can I do to avoid this happening again?
Avatar m tn For copax, there is a small percentage of patients (2%) in after marketing studies who experienced kidney or flank pain, and I read about an instance of kidney failure, but seen no reference to the actual percentage or instances of how many. I'll dig for the source for you if you are interested. As far as provigil, you may find more information if you look for post marketing adverse reactions,kidney/renal (as key words) problems for modafinil. What kind of doc looking into this for you?

82861 tn?1333453911 If there is no infection than your dog has kidney damage or kidney failure, and you will have to treat agressively to save the kidneys by using Sub Q fluid therapy, phosphate binders if the phosphate is also elevated, kidney saving herbs such as Rehmannia 8 and more. Avatar m tn How to differentiate between kidney damage and failure? Is it possible that it was caused by the drugs administered? If due to drugs, is it reversible?
