reminyl

Avatar n tn I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
Avatar m tn I don't believe that Ribavirin was ever available in injection form. I treated in 2000 and it was an oral drug then. "...Although ICN was allowed in 1980 to market ribavirin, in inhalant form, for RSV infection in children, the U.S. market for this indication was small.
Avatar n tn Although other high blood pressure medicines are available, ACE inhibitors have been shown to not only to be a useful drug to treat high blood pressure, but it has been shown to prevent or delay the progression of kidney disease in people with diabetes. Note: Some blood pressure medicines may adversely affect your blood sugar level. Blood pressure medicines can also cause impotence. Talk with your doctor about the side effects of prescribed medicines.
Avatar n tn try some SLIPPRY ELM POWDER get it from a health store. Mix a teaspoon in some water till it smoothes out like a runny paste and gulp it down. Doesn't taste real good but you get used to it. When you have a bad flareup take it before each meal for a couple of days. Works for me and it's not a drug so can't do any harm.
Avatar n tn Procrit use is at the doctor's discretion as jd says. Most set 10 as their level to begin using it. I used it at 10.8 fairly early in treatment. It took 3-4 weekly shots to start working for me. My medical team's goal was to get me over 11, at which time the shots were stopped. Later use was started when I was at10.2. I think they just gave it to me when I seemed the most drug-out and miserable. Obviously your provider is unaware of how miserable an HGB of 10 is.
Avatar n tn Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. It help to hear from other who are going through the same thing. I have another question... if there is a relapse/flareup are their any other medications other then steroids to treat the "symptoms"? I had a terrible allergic reaction to solu-medrol yesterday, and if this is the only drug available to "treat the symptoms" then that gives me more incentive to look more closely at the available meds.
Avatar f tn Made an appt. with neuro to ask about Aricept. Thought it would be worth a trying, especially since it's now in generic form. Don't want to be on it (mainly b/c of stigma), but would love to get some help with cognitive issues. Much better now than a yr. ago, but still not as good as should be. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I've always been under the impression it was to treat seizures and panic disorder
Avatar n tn I have a drug information handbook and the other day I was reading about the drug Proglycem, which you say your son is taking. Do you know how it works? I know that is used to treat hypoglycemia but I don't know if it supresses insulin secretion from the pancreas or releases liver stored glycogen into the bloodstream, so your blood sugar rises. I would like to know your experiences with this drug as far as efficacy, side effects, etc. What laboratory tests has your son taken?
Avatar f tn The latest drug they want me to try is CellCept which is used in transplant patients to decrease rejection. Now I have also been trying to have children, and with this drug I absolutely cannot get pregnant, as it causes major birth defects. Also I have a giant increase in risk of cancer, and sickness. My question is.... has anyone had success taking this drug, and being able to taper off with no recurrence of symptoms?
Avatar f tn the vagina will instantly work (complete for three days) due to the huge amounts of lauric acid it contains that is a natural bacteria killer. I have used it personally and have recommended it to everyone I know with any sort of "kitty bug"..i.e.:bv, yeast infection, etc. And it has worked instantly for.all of us. Feel better soon!!
Avatar m tn t aware, that there is a company that has formed with the sole purpose of creating a new drug to treat all forms of adrenal insufficiency. The company, based in Sweden, is named Duocort AB. They have conducted the largest survey ever done of 1200 patients with adrenal insufficiency. The majority of respondants were from the US. The survey finds that most patients are not satisfied with their current treatment. Many report that they have a poor quality of life.
Avatar n tn Usually the safest way to stop a drug is to taper off of it as slowly as you need to and the safest way to start a drug is to taper up as slowly as you need to. So nobody can tell you what you're experiencing or if it will go away eventually -- nobody knows that. Only time will tell.
Avatar m tn Doctor kept on changing dozes every time though, first week 200mg a day then kept on reducing down to 25mg every two days. I never developed a SVT during the process. However when I used to feel OK, I stopped taking it and after a while, that is a couple of years, my SVT were back, meaning back to Amiodarone. Anyway I never developed as serious side effects as with betablockers. Recently changed Cardiologists and the new one told me Amiodarone is bad, etc etc.
147426 tn?1317265632 doses these drugs usually create side effects that can be largely avoided by slowly titrating up from a much lower dose and allowing your body to accommodate to the effects of the medication. In other words drug X may make you very nauseated if started at 60 mg a day, but if started at 20 mg a day, and then each week increasing the dose by 20mg until you get to 60 mg then nausea is very rare. So it is better to start at a low dose and work your way up.
Avatar f tn It is safe for you to take citalopram with Imodium, there is no drug interaction between the two medications.
Avatar n tn pylori, or up to three times a day when used to treat conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid. The nonprescription delayed-release tablets or capsules are usually taken once a day in the morning at least 1 hour before eating for 14 days in a row. Additional 14-day treatments may be repeated once every 4 months if needed. To help you remember to take omeprazole, take it at around the same time(s) every day.
Avatar m tn They preferred letting them get to 8 and then transfusing. For that reason, I took my daughter to the mayo intending to treat there--thinking quality of life during tx vs the slight risk of adverse events from the procrit. Now I gotta rethink. Thanks all.
4451049 tn?1387153437 In reading at that site over the years, I find them to be thoughtful and forward-thinking, as well as very up-to-date. Here is the link to the first page of their section on long QT syndrome: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/long-qt-syndrome/basics/definition/con-20025388 If the bot blocks that out, you can find it on the mayoclinic [dot] org website, and I'll also send you a private message with the link.
Avatar n tn t stress enough that stopping these types of medications that are typically used in this community can not only put yourself through more trouble than it is worth but can be dangerous in my opinon. I am a proponent of medications commonly used to treat anxiety, however, they need to be taken as directed and part of that direction is coming off (and going on them) properly. As with any medication, keep an open dialogue with your prescribing doctor.
