Avatar n tn Vicodin can certainly be beaten without the expensive rehab. Most on here have done it. .....Just trying to give you positive alternative to the usual costly rehab. If he's mentally ready Im sure he can do it without that.

Avatar m tn WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome.....cash only then is how most treatment facilities/doctors work if you don't have insurance.Trust me-you tell them you will pay cash out of pocket they will help you.I know of several people who did it that way vs running it through their insurance as well as 1 that had no ins.Yes,it is costly but no more so than the actual addiction. Congratulations for your friend and to you mommy2be for taking this step..it's the 1st of many on a long hard road but so worth it!!
Avatar f tn Suffering from an addiction this site could be help you. They are providing treatment for those who are addicted to the drugs.
Avatar f tn Why would anyone spend upwards of 10 thousand dollars or more to go to rehab just to be put on the suboxone? I've been researching rehabs to GET OFF of subs, and after typing in "Suboxone detox" was surprised to find that the term in rehab land means "getting off of a drug using suboxone," not "getting off of sub." But to me, that is a total waste of money.
Avatar n tn I was in rehab for the first time in March. Was only there for 2 weeks because I found out I was pregnant about a week into treatment. They tested me when I got there but the results didn't come back until 7 days into treatment. I was already out of detox. So I chose to stay clean and not get back on anything. They wanted to put me back on methadone which is what they used to wean me off the oxy contin.
Avatar f tn Since the last time my daughter was clean and sober for 6wks then her friend came home from rehab and without me knowing they got together and I found needles again I told her she had to move out I could not enable her but she could stay if she really wanted to be clean. She moved out after many very mean tex messages to me (I know it was the drug) 4 wks later she sent me a tex asking me to come get her and take her to hospital because she wanted to go to rehab and be clean.
Avatar n tn I want to go to rehab but have no money or insurance. I detoxed off of methadone in April and wasn't able to afford rehab....... The 14 days in a Florida detox were the only two weeks of being "sober" I have experienced....... I am currently in full relapse mode, and desperately in need of rehab. How does one get into a good facility without any means of doing so? Are there any ways to get help?
Avatar f tn He is the first drug pusher I have ever met. When my Insurance changed, they would not cover Suboxone or dexedrine until I reached a six thousand dollar deductable. At $600 a month out of pocket I decided to come off the ****. After researching it, I was appalled. It is the most addictive drug in the pharmacy and the worst one to withdraw from. I got some Valium and clonidine and went cold turkey. Because of the half life of the drug is two weeks, that makes it a 3 week physical detox.
388204 tn?1236403834 My son is in great need of some help with his drinking and his sex addiction. I am very worried about him and have been for several years and it's only getting worse. What can I do? How can he pay for help with no insurance and not even a job.His life is totally out of control , he can't keep a job, an apartment, or girlfriend. He doesn't see his kids or pay support. He hasn't had a driver's license for years. He also has an anger and fighting problem and does some drugs too.
198154 tn?1337787265 Most doctors would probably make more money in the long-run if they could charge the insurance companies (reality is practices inflate prices to counter the cost and delay of handling paperwork and all the hassles of billing insurance). But in the case of drug rehab, the insurance companies that do bother to cover rehab have set such strict and unrealistic amounts, most doctors refuse to even work with them at all.

Avatar n tn Does anyone have some suggestions on how to get someone into rehab without failure and total rebellion. And in a state where there are very limited facilities and a large waiting list. I believe she will self destruct if this is implemented without going the day of. I see this on television all the time with intervention shows, but that is not reality. There is also a component that involves the health issues which are more paramount. Someone mentioned speaking to the specialist.
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.

Avatar f tn I went to the ER on Halloween Night and got into a rehab on November 1. Been clean since then. Spent 28 days in rehab, my insurance only covered rehab even though I had to detox on my own. I took a bunch of Lyrica and drank a drink or two on Halloween and now am on much less medication and free of the Coricidin, Thank God. Thanks for the concern, it was much appreciated. :) Hitting up a meeting tonight, Will be browsing the site some more when I get home.
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have made changes to my life insurance policy and they need to come do a physical and blood tests on me. I recentley came off of hydrocodone and am just concerned if it will be picked up on the test. How long does it take to not show up? If anyone has any insight to this its greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have a pretty good insurance policy. I have been through state funded rehab for meth in 2003. The place was quite slumish but I did what I had to do. Now however life is quite different. I was sober for 7 years and became addicted to painkillers 4 years ago. It started with the Lortab and now 6 months ago added Adderall into the mix. I am overwhelmed by the kids sports, mowing and weed eating 5 acres, cleaning a large home, and no help from the kids and husband.
462570 tn?1273632977 Or, just a substance abuse rehab. Nicotine IS a drug and we DO abuse it. That would be super expensive though and using the aids on the market today are so much cheaper. If you're really scared, you might want to talk over some options with your doctor and even go so far as taking some Clonodine which is a blood pressure med to help you through the beginning. The first 3 days are really the worst, but for some people, not so bad. Maybe you would be one of those people?
955570 tn?1247174591 I have been taking the drug for over 13 years and was taking nine 80mg tabs a day(three evert eight hours). My bowels have quit working on their own and I have to take an enema daily to keep myself from backing up.I started taking the drug for chronic back pain, and now am taking it just because I'm addicted to it.I really don't have any pain to speak of and didn't realize how bad off I was until just recently when I underwent a procedure to open up my urethra.
Avatar f tn Are you really mentally ready for a life without drug use? I ask this only because prior to getting off methadone this was not ok with me, I know it sounds weird but It just wasnt my time, my time came about a year ago, something, I dont know what? But I just wanted to be clean, & I wanted this more then anything, & thats what keeps me fighting round after round, day after day.
572651 tn?1530999357 My classmate and friend, who is also the pharmacy tech where I pick up most of my prescriptions, blurted out an expletive when she saw how a one-month supply of Betaseron injections cost ($4600). Luckily my co-pay was $1 through Medicaid, which I'm eligible for so long as I remain a dirt poor student. As much as I want to be cynical about big pharmaceutical companies, I had a $10 co-pay through Bayer's Betaseron patient assistance program when I was without insurance.
Avatar n tn If you can't get insurance to get into a rehab you can try to see if there is an addiction specialist in your area. My son had a 3 year heroin addiction and the waiting lists for rehab were so long that I took him to an MD who specialized in addiction. There is a drug called suboxone that will wean a person so physical wd is not so bad. I had to go with him in order for the doc to even see him and it was my job to hold and taper his pills over about a week.
