Drug rehab vs jail

Common Questions and Answers about Drug rehab vs jail

rehab

Avatar m tn Had he wanted to be drug / prison free he could have gone to rehab and gotten his life together and treated his own disease (hcv). It was not anybody elses responsiblity to do so. It was his and like most repeat offenders - the ending was sad but not unexpected. MANY men even use jail as a home in the winter. For food, clothing and a place to sleep.
Avatar n tn You stated that he went to jail for possession of drug paraphernalia, not drugs. Most, like my son did, go to rehab to avoid more jail time. And resume their old habits once they are 'clean' from rehab. Someone has to 'want' to be free from an addiction without playing games. It's his choice, sorry to say, not yours.

Avatar n tn I NEVER BEEN IN TROUBLE BEFORE UNTIL NOW I MESSED UP AND I NEED A DRUG REHAB CENTER TO HELP OVER SOME OTHER THINGS HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A PRETRIAL DERVERSION

Avatar m tn I have a son in jail for drug addiction and we are going to court on monday, his girlfriend which is also addicted, and him tried to kill us just before christmas and both of them were arrested, my son was kept in jail for he did not comply with his parole rules, girlfriend was released, their 5 year old daughter Kelly was placed in our care and we are now trying to get custody of her until both of them are clean and has sorted their lives out.
Avatar f tn when your child is off age how do u get them help on probaition drug rehab is violation goes to jail 5 yrs that doesnt help help?
Avatar f tn Hi, I am sorry you are still going through this. But it will not end until you end it. I remember you posting about your husband and I also remember us telling you that you cannot help him get clean. The only thing you can do is take care of yourself. He is not ready to get clean yet and unless he is arrested and locked up then you cannot force him. I assume now he won't be going to rehab?
1530342 tn?1405016490 In July of last year Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail and another 90 days in rehab for violating her probation in a drunk driving case, but served just 13 days due to prison overcrowding. She was jailed again in September, but was granted bail after only 15 hours behind bars and subsequently checked into rehab for drug addiction, a course she completed in January.
Avatar f tn If you have to go to court, try to get them to get you help, like Rehab or something, not jail. But I'm sure your attorney knows what to do. But I hope it all goes well for you. Sounds like you learned your lesson, that's for sure. I had my own battles in the past with Vicodin, so I do understand. They can put quite the hold on people. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My concern is that the judge told the bailiff that she wants to find him a bed in a drug rehab facility, court ordered as he walked out of a facility when it was only recommended. I am having feelings of guilt for putting him in jail for two weeks,he thought he was coming home, until his hearing, feeling like in jail he will not get help for the bi-polar, but at least he won't use which is what the judge was concerned with.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
299889 tn?1257339377 Hey there. Rehab vs In Home is a personal decision with no right answer. However, drug use vs clean has a definite right answer! That said, any way you get there is the right way for you. The process will suck, but (trust me) its well worth it. Power & prayers for ya!
Avatar f tn I sat in one county jail for 4 days before I was transferred to another county jail for about two months, which was the extent of me sentence because I was finally able to go to a state funded rehab facility. The jail that I was at actually offered Methadone Maintenance, thank God. The kind Judge told me that my DTC counselor thought it necessary for me to start Methadone, and get to a "stable" dose before I was able to get out and go to rehab. A stable dose in jail is 30mg.
Avatar m tn Are you still available to ask a question on this website... I need help fast... and I cant find a specialist of any kind that wont give up... Weve had therapy... hes been to jail over and over... hes been to rehab... it doesnt scare him... he literally has no emotion towards anything unless you get in between him and his drugs and alcohol... hes in a gang and hangs out with gang members all day... i know he will end up in jail for a long time or dead if i dont act right now...
Avatar f tn He had a few priors, but he only got fined and got a slap on the wrist with a felony on his record but did no jail time. Now if you are doing forging for your own drug habit then that is a totally different ball game. I mean of course it is against the law but in essence you are not stealing from anyone, nobody is loosing money, the govenment is still getting there cut,,, perhaps you screwed up the credibility of the doctor at ONE pharmacy....
Avatar f tn Won't post my entire horror story here....got a drug charge and the court ordered me to undergo this IOP mental health treatment. Does anyone here have any experience with IOPMHT? What does that entail? Wanted to ask a psych doc but couldn't find a forum for it on this site....if there is one I hope someone will direct me to it.
Avatar f tn My son is a heroin addict and is in jail for a few months. I put him in a Christian rehab program and 12 days later he walked away. He was then picked up for breaking probation. I can rest while he is in jail because I know he is safer than on the streets. I am constantly worried about him when he is out. I offered to find another program and he would rather stay in jail because he can get out sooner. He told the nurse and officers that he will use again when he gets out. He will be 24 in May.
Avatar m tn c from his former heroin use and I gave him the interferon shots. In 1997. My husband was in a christian drug rehab for 3 months the LORD has done amazing things in his life and our familys.we had some much hurt and pain from his years of use. The meth gets you off heroin but is a monster itself. Seek the LORD and HE will strenghten you. I will pray for the LORD to be with you during your detox and your jail time.
Avatar f tn Had been on it for 4years and suddenly went to jail. Anyway a dr. from mexico gave me intavenous shots of b-12, very large amounts and in one day i was eating etc. Why is it that Dr's do not use this method it is drug free?
Avatar f tn My brother is 26. Been battling an oxy addiction for about 6 yrs. Been in jail, rehab after rehab, stole from our parents and Im sure much worse. He got clean through a program and stayed clean for a year. Then just recently he had a bad breakup and just went crazy. And went off the deep end with oxy. It is killing my mom as well as him. The difference this time is that he is begging for help, admits he screwed up and he wants off of horrible drug forever.
1372788 tn?1279215766 I believe they gave Lindsey 90 days in inpatient rehab after she finishes jail. I do feel for them, and I feel for the many, MANY people from all walks of life who find themselves in this situation. It's like a silent epidemic in our society. I'm just glad I'm going through my withdrawals as a free woman. Gatorade and my favorite movie with my my pets on the couch? At my service. Would I like to take an epsom salt bath? Don't mind if I do.
320944 tn?1245966599 They held him for 9 days in a rehab part of the jail and let him out on his own restitution. He immediatly signed up and went to rehab then a half way house on his own and got 5 yrs. probation and pays restitution on the money he stole. The whole experience saved him...atleast so far. Showing that you are willing to do something positive on your own really helps. Best of luch. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Avatar m tn Found a one quart bag of very fine green powder in my childs room. A label on the bag said "VS" and "not for human consumption". Another small one ounce bag of also a fine green powder was labeled "red VS" and "not for human consumption". It did not have much of an odor and was definitly not pot. I asked the boy what it was and he said it's not spice, but, declined to say what it was.

Avatar f tn My son is 43 years old and did not become an addict until approx 10 years ago. I was able to get him into treatment 4 years ago, but he only stayed for 2 weeks. He was then shooting cocaine and using GHB, in addition to being hooked on klonopin. Within a couple of months of getting out, he was back on the drugs again. Heaven only knows what he's using now, but I suspect he may even be using heroin. Whatever, he is a serious needle user.
983679 tn?1276833336 This are my first felony charges and my attorny, my bf, the prosicuter, and judge all agree that i need rehab instead of jail so i leave some time this week for a inhouse rehab and on jan 13 i am going to be sentenced to 18 months in drug court--I will have to report 5 days a week to drug court, drug test 4 times a week, go in front of judge once a week.
947931 tn?1251495088 I am sure we may have different answers to your questions, but for me it took about 10 years, 3 overdoses, switching drug after drug till I found my DOC (cocaine) and bottoming out so many times to FINALLY admit I am an addict. The first time I said it out loud ( my name is Chris and I am an addict) and around people was at an N/A meeting when I first got clean. Saying those words helped me so much, I could finally accept I had a disease and was powerless.
