Does anyone know of a good (effective) detox/rehab facility in Tampa Bay/St. Pete area? Son prefers non-residential but has rather large addiction to roxicodone /oxycontin. This is all so confusing and depressing. . seems so many people are trying to make big bucks at desperate people's expense (and I don't mean just dealers!) No one is really giving me much hope of permanent freedom from this drug for him, either.

He is a very big minipulator and can sweet talk anyone. What can I do to get him into rehab? I am in Tampa, FL and he lives in Clearwater, FL I think he may be sucicidle and has been just released from the hospital for head truma caused by a bar fight. I need help and am desprate. I don't want him to kill himself or over dose. What can I do??

i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.

WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...

He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. James will be 1 week clean tomorrow.And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.

Hi - although I have no personal experience of brain tumours (I have breast cancer), my twin brother died of an inoperable brain tumour, and live in England, I do have very close friends in Tampa, Florida. living in a senior's golf community about 20 miles inland from Tampa. You have two very good teaching hospitals in Tampa - Tampa General and USF. I doubt you will find anyone good in Spring Hill or Brooksville area, but the Suncoast Pkwy makes getting into Tampa easy. Good luck.
