Avatar m tn when he went before the judge for his drug possession i asked that he be released to a drug rehab and he was. thank god he stayed for the 3 months and never used cocaine again. he hated me when i sent him but now at 24 he thanks me and says i saved his life by sending him there. is this your son? you have to try all you can to help him now before his life of drugs becomes 10,20 or 30 years of addiction. please dont' enable him by giving him money.
317822 tn?1223241475 ll have a time to get up, a time to eat and a time to go to bed. Their rules are their rules and you have to go by them. I didn't find them difficult to follow at all although some did.....that's part of addiction.....control. You'll just need to open your mind and let go of all control and listen and learn what they give you. The tools they give you are priceless. I was able to stay clean for 18 years....I started using pills again 2 years ago, but not alcohol...thank God!
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...
Avatar f tn Rules? Rules are fences. They can protect but they also restrain. I'm not always a fan. How about my personal experience? I tried the 'only as needed' method with baclofen. I progressed to a daily bedtime dose but didn't get sustained relief until I gave in and took smaller doses on a more frequent schedule. My MSologist suggested 10mg four times a day instead of larger doses spaced hours apart. It worked well for me because it maintained a more even blood level.
684676 tn?1503186663 Requiring mandatory rehabilitation when this is noted is a reasonable idea and at rehab programs they do drug tests of course to make sure a person is following up.
Avatar f tn My concern is that the judge told the bailiff that she wants to find him a bed in a drug rehab facility, court ordered as he walked out of a facility when it was only recommended. I am having feelings of guilt for putting him in jail for two weeks,he thought he was coming home, until his hearing, feeling like in jail he will not get help for the bi-polar, but at least he won't use which is what the judge was concerned with.
Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.
5901196 tn?1395543909 Hello! My name is Dee. I'm 53 yrs. old, have 3 adult sons and 8 grandchildren. My history of drug use is very long, 30-33 yrs., so I'll just get to it. (I have to thank God right now for letting me have a home and my family.) I got off Suboxone about a month ago. What I need advice on is this: Even though I'm clean, I'd like to go to inpatient drug rehab, (at least a 30 day program), to work thru all of these emotions that are coming to the surface.

James will be 1 week clean tomorrow. And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar n tn If so, it may be almost impossible for his heart rate to exceed 100 beats per minute, and the rules for aerobic exercise and heart beat are thrown out the window... the rehab folks teach "perceived exercise thresholds" instead.

Avatar m tn She finally admitted that she was hooked and needed help. We got her into a rehab center to hopefully get off them, so we can save our marriage. It is just as hard on me with her not being here becasue she is my best friend and we had our routine of drinking coffee and talking about anything that we want, and it was so depressing to wake up and not see my best friend laying next to me. I was wondering what it is like in rehab.
Avatar f tn There is no reason you should be the one woman show. Set rules and expectations. If you do go to rehab or detox at home then you will need the help. What will happen if you are away 2 weeks to a month? Also consider outpatient. It will alliwyou to stay home but you will go there everyday (not sure about Sundays) to do groups, counseling and learn life handling skills. You are learning to deal while still living your life. I think that is a huge reward.
Avatar n tn I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
