rehab

Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar m tn This was an interesting blog posting on the ancient chinese medicine. http://skeptigirl.wordpress.com/category/medical/page/3/ It confirms my thoughts on magical stroke recovery. Here is a clinical trial but I couldn't read it. http://www.clinicalconnection.com/exp/ExpandedPatientViewStudy189961.aspx If this truly worked scientists and survivors would be all over this. Probably good as a placebo or just the normal 6-12 month spontaneous recovery attributed to the drug.
Avatar n tn i voluntarily put myself into an 18 month drug rehab in 1993. i was about to lose my kids. i had to do something. they made me detox for 3 days prior in a hospital. it was a really good program. they helped anyone with drivers license problems, fines, court ****, etc. i was able to take nursing classes. they help ed me find a job, save money, and have a place to live so that i slowly re-entered the "normal" world.
Avatar f tn gov and search nursing home comparisons. The issue I have is that none of the nursing homes actually mention rehab. My dad has a great attitude and is working hard at his therapy sessions. Can anyone offer advice on how to effectively research and screen facilitities to ensure that my dad continues therapy with the goal of going home? Thanks!
Avatar m tn After a stay in the hospital for 6 weeks we were told that she would never meet the requirements for a rehab program. She was sent to a nursing home but the family continued doing her exercise that we found helpful from the Internet and we used therapeutic needles daily to stimulate the nerves on her bad side. After a period of 5 months and getting her on a antidepressant we were able to get her to rehab. We were told first that she wouldn't live.
Avatar n tn My father ( 80yrs with Alzheimer's/mild Parkinson's symptoms) has been a relatively "low" does of the risperdal for some time now. The nursing staff claim that it keeps him from being agitated. It however, leaves him in a catatonic state. He cannot speak and he sits and nods off with his pupils like pinholes. They claim this is for his "safety" and that of the nursing staff.
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...
Avatar n tn And, if you have insurance or can find a way to afford it, get your husband out of a skilled nursing facility and into an acute or post-acute care rehab facility, preferably one that specializes in brain injuries. My husband had a severe stroke in August and is currently in a neurorehab. He was paralyzed on the right side, lost his ability to speak intelligbly, had no sense of balance, couldn't swallow, short-term memory loss, and had many cognitive issues.
Avatar f tn If there was a side effect, I would experience it. After a month and a half in rehab, and with nursing home placement looming, I discovered it was the medicines causing the problems. I was so week in rehab it was very difficult to get much out of therapy. I went home with assistant help and stopped most of my meds. Amazingly, I am so much better. Where I barely had enough energy to sit-up for 1 1/2 hours, now I stay up 13 or 14 hours without a break.
982639 tn?1251254617 I started theses because of my boyfriend who has a drug addiction.... im a nursing student and I CANNOT let this ruin my life. Avatar f tn I do have a ton of support from the nursing program, and they have given me no choice which is what I needed. Life will be beautiful. Thanks everyone...I hope I haven't lost any friends here. Things are getting busy and expensive. I have to leave town 3 times this week for this, and still maintain meetings everyday and potential urine drug screens on those days as well. Please know that you have helped......
Avatar f tn My mother is residing in a nursing home in a wheelchair. She has little rehab in there, because she's too tired to keep at it. She does try, but the rehab doesn't last too long because of her tiredness. She is immobilized on her left side, and can't balance herself to go on a commode.
Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.
Avatar f tn Isn't there some web site you can check this out on or maybe in her union book. There must some information that came with her nursing license, like all the do's and don'ts. Or maybe an 1-800 number you can call anomysley (spelling) and ask these questions.
Avatar f tn so my grandma is at this nursing home in huntington health and rehab. a worker there is giving out information about the resident (my grandmother) to outsiders; suchs as; people not working there, her kids, other people. this is going around the school about how my grandmother acts at a nursing home. and i want this to stop. is this illegal to give out information? tell me please. and if you get it from a website, type the web site in.
Avatar m tn He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. James will be 1 week clean tomorrow. And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.
Avatar f tn hello all 60 days clean today. Back from rehab two days ago. Good to be back although, I loved being around people who "get" me. People who have the addict brain that I have. People who have probably faught this to one degree or another all of their lives as well. The first thing I did when I got back was kiss my kids then went to a meeting. I was overwhelmed by home. Needed those people who "get" me again right away.
Avatar f tn The next few months were very difficult, I was battling my addiction daily, waiting to hear my fate from the nursing board and wondering when the cops were going to show up at my door. My nursing license was suspended in September, I have a Bachelors degree in nusing, took about 4.5 years of school. How in the hell did I throw it all away? Now me and my 4 sons are on state assistance (food stamps, Medicaid). I have no job and continually worrying how to pay the next bill.
Avatar f tn I probably just need outpt rehab, but like today, I feel I need inpatient rehab. I ache all over after being clean a month. My kids can see the difference in me because before I was so complacent, now I'm just irritable when I'm here, and gone a lot trying to keep up with this nursing recovery program. I'm stressed out trying to make these deadlines. And to have to depend on my husband to carry his end of it.
Avatar m tn I had pain 2 weeks ago in my R calf and now I have no pain now,but I do have numbness in my right calf and not as pronounced and I have no right patellar reflex. Can I do alternative rehab treatment instead of surgery(which is a micro diskectomy)? Can I get Rehab or chiropractic care to restore my right leg function? Also,is it possible to have an MRI report to be too over exaggerated?

Avatar m tn It is now November and he is still in a nursing home in Long Term Care unit and not receiving ANY rehab. The reason the home gives is that he has "plateaued". People I have spoken to have said that he should still be receiving therapy. I realize that he is now on medicaid, (he lost his job, home, everything due to this stroke) and is being treated like a second class citizen!! He is getting very depressed. Thank you!
Avatar f tn t do it because it is through his work. I was supposed to get into an outpt rehab by this week for the nursing recovery program or else. I'm so frustrated, it's always been like this with him. I still ache, and I'm noticing my triggers. Fighting kids, no time to myself, I feel like I'm less "here" for the kids than I was before. They start to fight and need so much, and I become selfish with my time compared to what I was when I would take norco.
Avatar m tn Where can I watch programs and testimonials of real people for drug addicts and alcoholics. I found a site: http://recoverynowtv.
