drug rehab in houston

I can not get off and about 2 months ago I started shooting them. I called a rehab yesterday and made a appointment, went in and was told they could not help me because i was not abusing them. If 6 80s a day is not abuse i don't know what is. There is hardly a doctor in the world that will wright 180 and 180. I am 34 years old with a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. They need me. Please if any one has any suggestions on what i can do PLEASE let me know.

My original question was to convince my son to get help for his pill addiction. I saw a website in Houston called Detox Houston (which is where he lives) & I convinced him to go. The website looks great & sounds great but it is not. It's a joke. There is no follow-up help at all. He's had some terrible relapses & now I'm trying to find something else. He wants something that he can do as an outpatient. How do you go about finding a decent doctor/therapist to help you?

Had you researched them or do you know someone in Houston that you could recommend or do you highly recommend the place in Florida. Were you on stuff for a long period of time, just wondering how hard it's going to be for him.

Weight loss during heroin use is very common. We call it the "Southside Diet" here in Houston. Poor eating habits and malnutrition are very common to heroin users because we typically either don't care to eat or use the money we would normally eat with to buy more drugs. i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.

I believe they gave Lindsey 90 days in inpatient rehab after she finishes jail. I do feel for them, and I feel for the many, MANY people from all walks of life who find themselves in this situation. It's like a silent epidemic in our society. I'm just glad I'm going through my withdrawals as a free woman. Gatorade and my favorite movie with my my pets on the couch? At my service. My son who went to rehab & is now in outpatient rehab is clean ...I found a small container of clean pee in his drawer( NOT GOOD) ...I told the out patient rehab & they told me its normal to do this when you are a addict ..Its call just in case ....... As of today he is clean , they drug tested him today & i will daily also.....But please help me to understand this .... anyone have a family member in drug rehab? my DH has been gone 6 days into his 30 days of treatment. i am left alone with a three year old.. i want him to get help for drugs and depression, but now i am left alone with my son and i am now severly depressed, lonely, hurt, feeling guilty, and so on, and so on. his problem has torn me apart. i am a nervous wreck. i dont know what to do, or who to talk to. i am begging for some kind of help.. someone to talk to, somewhere to go.

It is really important that your son has an aftercare program set up and sticks with it.I don't have any personal experience with suboxone,but I will tell you from what I learned from the people here that suboxone is not a drug you are supposed to administer to yourself with no guidance.That it is best when it is possible for a person to do a fast taper,however some do need to be on it a little longer and do a slow taper ,of course the key word being taper to minimize the withdraw from it.

Watching Heidi Fleiss was really sad.. I saw her on celebrity rehab where she retreated to the desert with a bunch of parrots! It was so sad bc you could see how much pain she was in. Dennis Rodman was like watching a train about to fly off the tracks.. He kinda had the "im not an addict" mentality even while in rehab! I KNEW Kim Richards was on pills and stuff... You could just tell. She went to rehab and looks like she's doing GREAT now!!

Our family visited our son in rehab on thanksgiving. He does not want to continue any therapy after he is out. He is very anxious. That was his 16 day in clinic. Only two weeks left. I understand that HE is the only one who has to make decision about his future. But how possibly I can let it go? He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. James will be 1 week clean tomorrow.And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.

My son is in rehab & doing good ...He will be in for 14 days then have to go to outpatient rehab all day for 6 weeks.. What can I expect ? Hes 25 ..I can't lock him in his room to protect him ......He has a career job waiting for him when he gets out ..But the rehab is more important ,,,Any advice ?

So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.

Or, just a substance abuse rehab. Nicotine IS a drug and we DO abuse it. That would be super expensive though and using the aids on the market today are so much cheaper. If you're really scared, you might want to talk over some options with your doctor and even go so far as taking some Clonodine which is a blood pressure med to help you through the beginning. The first 3 days are really the worst, but for some people, not so bad. Maybe you would be one of those people?

I need help in San antonio either a kick *** counselor or rehab facility . Also how do u get started? I don't want to taper, I don't trust myself.

My thoughts on this are, if you are in Maryland now, as hard as it seems, you should stay to go thru rehab. I know you need your kids & they need you. But they need you clean. If you know there is no help for you in Mexico, get the help you need here in the states Cassie. Your children & your whole life will thank you for it. Please do what's best, not what's easiest.

Thanks again very much you guys... So I think my sister will turn up again. I'm not too worried about that, except for the suicidal thoughts she's been having today and recently. My dad said he actually got her to pick up the phone this evening. She was supposed to come see my parents and discuss some things but she keeps cancelling on them. I think what I am mainly trying to figure out is if there is anything I can do or should be doing for her...

Although I fully agree that there should be some accountability from Dr.'s who so easily prescribe or over prescribe, the reality is that if someone really wants to get their hands on these meds, they will. They are readily available on the streets, all one has to do is look. If they really want them, they can get them.

Please Help me with some advice in my predicament. I got a call yesterday from a government subsidized Medical Detox Rehab Facility. It looks like I am getting a bed around the second week of December. On the 29th of this month I do an admissions assessment so they can familiarize themselves with what I'm taking, how much I'm taking, how long i've been using, drug history etc. etc. This date seems so far away in terms of the amount of days I would still need to use.

It's been a long time since I've posted on hear, I got messed up with some bad people and ended up living with a drug dealer. I'm almost 21 now and I never thought I would be in this situation...I've moved back home and tried to stay clean, I got to almost 3 months and just caved. I feel like I have failed my parents now, they want me to go to rehab to kick this habit but I can't see myself lasting there.

I was previously under the care of a psychiatrist/neuro/oncologist for 8 years before going to my psychiatrist who passed away.

You have to be ready and willing to put in the work or else no rehab in the world is gonna be able to help you. Im all for it and yes they do work if your willing and ready to open your mind and heart to sobriety. You have to be ready. Are you ready?
