My advice to you would be to move your dad to another nursing home that does not have a policy of chemical restraint. If that isn't feasible forbid the use of all antipsychotics; not just risperidol. When my husband, who has Parkinson's, was hospitalized for 3 months due to a ruptured gallbladder I spent every waking hour trying to keep his recuperation on track.
s still on drugs and now we have been advice to write a afidavit in which we plead for the judge to send them both for a full rehab program, for both of them pose a danger to us, their daughter and themselves and we do not know how to go about it, is there perhaps somebody who are able to assist us.

Once they grab a hold of you, you are no longer a nurse under some protective covering. You are now a human being controlled by the drug. As for her coworkers, opiate users are highly functional. Sometimes performing at better than average. They could have had no idea. As for you, my husband is a doctor and didn't know. Try to let go as you can of her being a nurse, her coworkers should have known, you should have done more...
i agree with them . whatever happens in the future, if you go to rehab will be better for you, it's not a matter of ct or not, you need probes of your determination too. don't punish yourself more and start looking for help and a place to rehab. .... you'll feel much better once you have taken those steps and you're the first who has to look for and find the end of the tunnel.
WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse
something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on
the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet

say he is not allowed to see his child till you know for 100% fact he is clean! Check into rehab or have him pay for a test every 3 days and make him give it to you..

Meth is expensive if he can afford to buy it then he can afford to pay for a drug test every 3 days to give to you so he can see his baby...
I think the family needs some good advice and support from a drug counselor. Things seem very out of control and there are many ways to leverage her into rehab. (For example temporary custody of the children. Etc.) Time for tough love. and ultimatums.
I would try to go the detox/rehab route because of the combination of the drugs and alcohol. A focused intervention with a drug counselor could be set up with a trip to detox immediately. Look in your phone book for drug/alcohol assistance.
I have recently learned that my spouse is shooting up his prescription pain pills. He has admitted that he has a problem and wants to enter into rehab to get help with his addiction but he is scare and worried that because he is a nurse that he will be reported to the state and lose his nurses license. d on a meth/cialis combo. I would really like to have an intervention for Dave. Tom is unsure if drug rehab is appropriate because it's less obvious that the drugs are the real issue especially since he doesn't do them ALL the time (except for weed). He thinks he needs an actual mental health facility, rather than rehab. What WOULD be the most appropriate setting for my brother to receive help? Thank you!
Hi mjui. It sounds like you are putting a lot pressure on yourself to get your son to continue his therapy after he gets out of rehab. I completely understand how you feel, but this is a decision that your son will have to make. I truly hope that he will change his mind and continue his therapy. Have you asked him why he no longer wants to continue therapy? Is there a reason why he is so anxious? I can understand that he would have some anxiety, but it sounds like his anxiety is severe.
He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. James will be 1 week clean tomorrow.And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.
he has been in and out of rehab and is currently in rehab for 65 days. he was clean for 2 years somewhere in the 13 years of use but obviously relapsed. he steals my car money and other items to trade for crack, he seems to find these items even tho i hide them. he stays gone for hours to days at a time. it is emotionaly physically and financialy draining me. our sex life is a joke he will not have sex with me when he binges which is becoming atleast once a week.
My brother is addicted to drugs and is unable to stop on his own, the drugs are hard core. He has gone to jail several times for having drug paraphanalia. He comes before a judge again the end of the month. Can you suggest the best way to write a letter to the judge asking him to rmandate that he goes to a ************** program?
I hate when Dr's an nurses tell you not to freak out because that just makes me freak out! Ugh I just wanna go home...
