rehab

Avatar m tn s in Social Work. She recently decided that she will use her education/degree to become a Drug Counselor, as she feels her experience with addiction and recovery could help others. If your past doesn't include anything that might exclude you from the job you are considering, I would advise you to apply, and if you get the job, use your experinece with additction/getting clean to help others recover from their problems.
Avatar m tn And he needs to want to change -- drugs are fun, and he might like them more than he cares about anything else. When they stop being fun, most people stop taking them, those that don't need the drug rehab. If he doesn't participate in his treatment with a commitment to work and get better, he won't. Are you able to talk to him?
Avatar m tn She finally admitted that she was hooked and needed help. We got her into a rehab center to hopefully get off them, so we can save our marriage. It is just as hard on me with her not being here becasue she is my best friend and we had our routine of drinking coffee and talking about anything that we want, and it was so depressing to wake up and not see my best friend laying next to me. I was wondering what it is like in rehab.
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar n tn The rehab facility can work to get him into a "sober house" or half way house. There are many avenues to go down and they come with restrictions, of course. He wouldn't be homeless if he took advantage of some of the programs. There's a lot out there and you could research it yourself. I would be more inclined to throw some money at a place like that instead of supporting him at home. It's much healthier for everyone.
Avatar n tn You should consult your doctor to seek appropriate professional treatment if you want to discontinue Ambien. You should not attempt to stop taking them on your own. Several Drug rehab programs are available, which are multi-phasic approach to undergo medically supervised detoxification along with counseling (cognitive-behavioral therapy) in an in-patient or out-patient setting to help overcome addiction to Ambien.
Avatar f tn You have to be ready and willing to put in the work or else no rehab in the world is gonna be able to help you. Im all for it and yes they do work if your willing and ready to open your mind and heart to sobriety. You have to be ready. Are you ready?
Avatar f tn I would try to go the detox/rehab route because of the combination of the drugs and alcohol. A focused intervention with a drug counselor could be set up with a trip to detox immediately. Look in your phone book for drug/alcohol assistance. It is usually in the front pages in a special services section. She is in heavy denial and needs to be approached with a worked out strategic plan. Good Luck. Ask for lots of help.
Avatar m tn It is not unusual that people don't get any relief from Morphine. Most people do, but there are some of us who don't. Both of my kids and I don't get any pain relief from Morphine. We all have doctor certified documentation that Morphine does not work for us. I found out the hard way when I went to the hospital for what I thought was a very painful ulcer. Turned out I had idiopathic pancreatitis. They gave me morphine in the emergency room and it did nothing.
Avatar f tn I recently found out the my ex boyfriend (baby's father) has been doing a horrible drug. I threatened him if he didn't stop I wouldn't let him be in the delivery room to see his son being born. He claims he has stopped but I feel like he still does it. Is it possible to ask the hospital the day I go in to deliver to drug test him to see if he is clean or not?
Avatar n tn Does he think at all that he can do it without going to rehab? There are other options for it. Let us know and we will be glad to help!! Welcome to the forum!!
Avatar f tn I was in a rehab facility for drug treatment...the place had a no drug policy for tx of withdrawal experienced while in rehab facility. The levels of the drug in my body as the level decreased it caused me to have insomnia for several nights and after three/four days I then had a grand mal seizure..l was finally given Tramadol for help with sleep. Per the rehab facility Tramadol is only drug prescribed as to very low addition rate. Supposed to be basically non-addictive.
5833911 tn?1376974874 My cousin is just 16 now and i have heard from his father that he is addicted to some kind of drug, i don't know which one exactly. I have heard that he have even dropped out from the school due to drug. His parents are going out of the country for some kind of business. They are planning to keep my cousin in a rehabilitation center but my cousin doesn't want and he wants to be with us instead. I am really worried about him since he is just 16. What will be the best for him....
Avatar n tn I have been addicted to pain killers for 6+ years. I've decided that enough is enough & I can't continue to live like this anymore. I am 3 days clean & currently going through withdrawls. I can not afford rehab, or have anyone to care for my children if I could afford to go. I don't know if wanting to quit & change my life is enough for me to kick this. My husband knows about my addiction, I went to him for help. He doesn't understand why I can't just stop.
Avatar f tn It's called rapid detox or the Wiessman Method. They sedate you and flush a solution through your blood to clean it of drugs. It can be dangerous and I have seen a high relapse ratio. I know of one person who is successful so far after rapid detox. they got home f eelinh great. the next day the anxiety and depression hit hard. He had lots of support when he got out. I feel the same about rehab, it's a good first step, but you need to have more than that.
Avatar m tn I have seen/heard too many tales in the drug-riddled area I live in where people will comply with CPS orders for drug rehab but the second CPS is gone (in your case, it'd be he knows he has your complete trust back) and they aren't being held accountable, they sink right back to it. Rinse, repeat. It may be that he is genuine, but there has been A LOT of damage done to your relationship by the cheating and the dishonesty related to drug use.
Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.

Avatar f tn Thank you both for your helpful comments and your concern. I have spoken with many interventionists, and even that is a difficult task. First of all, they charge a LOT of money, and I am retired and on a limited income. My worry is that if I use up the money I have now, I will not have it later if this time doesn't work. In addition, I have no family to partake in an intervention. My son has a twin sister who lives out of state, and he hasn't even spoken with her in 3 years.
Avatar n tn i voluntarily put myself into an 18 month drug rehab in 1993. i was about to lose my kids. i had to do something. they made me detox for 3 days prior in a hospital. it was a really good program. they helped anyone with drivers license problems, fines, court ****, etc. i was able to take nursing classes. they help ed me find a job, save money, and have a place to live so that i slowly re-entered the "normal" world.
Avatar f tn Not all rehabs are like that. I went to a year long rehab completely NON medical. It saved my life. Life's not been perfect since but I had a good 6 years sober- even though I messed up I still feel like I got tools I needed there - I absolutely could not have done what I'm doing now before I went there. After doing hard opiates from age 14-22 I needed a year of reprogramming so to speak. I can honestly say that if I hadn't went I would most likely be dead by now.
2763543 tn?1339877438 Your statement..."should she tell him to stay gone this time or let him back in and hope for the best? Nothing I say penetrates her brain." My response....Well, OF COURSE she should tell him to stay gone; that's a "no brainer." Who would tell her friend to stay with someone like that or take him back? Hope for the best? Hmmmm.....the best thing she can do is walk away from him and wish him well WITHOUT her. Two years is two years TOO long.
Avatar m tn I am sorry to say that there is no way you can get off ativan safely from that dose without an experienced doctor's supervision. You need a doctor who knows how to slowly lower your dose and watch and give you physical and emotional support, day by day. You may need to be in a rehab facililty to do this properly. Even though the ativan doesn't work, it just means you build up a tolerance to it, and the dose you are on right is incredibly high.
