Avatar m tn Hey its not in Pasadena but Memorial Hermann Prevention and Recovery Center (PaRC) in Houston on Gessner (Beltway @ I-10 west is where I went and it saved my life. 400+ mg of oxy every day was my habit, now I've been clean of all mind altering drugs for over 14 months. I hughly recommend it to anyone who is in the Houston or surrounding areas, it is widely renouned as the best treatment center in Houston, second in Texas to La Hacienda in San Antonio (I think thats where it is).
1777443 tn?1321332474 Had my craniotomy/laminaectomy/duraplasty on November 7 in Houston. Out of the hospital on Nov. 10, but still in Houston until follow up appt on Nov 22. Yes, I'm exhausted and head and neck hurts, but not as much as I had thought. Lots of naps and short walks to get my strength back up. Down to half the prescribed pain meds. My most noticeable improvement is the ability to really breathe ,,, big lungfuls of air. Feels great.

1959859 tn?1331741157 Americans consume 80 percent of the world's supply of painkillers -- more than 110 tons of pure, addictive opiates every year -- as the country's prescription drug abuse epidemic explodes. That's enough drugs to give every single American 64 Percocets or Vicodin. And pain pill prescriptions continue to surge, up 600 percent in ten years, thanks to doctors who are more and more willing to hand out drugs to patients who are suffering.
Avatar m tn About 6 months ago i started going to a doctor in Houston for back pain. I am prescribed 180 O.C. 80mg a month. Thats 6 a day. I can not get off and about 2 months ago I started shooting them. I called a rehab yesterday and made a appointment, went in and was told they could not help me because i was not abusing them. If 6 80s a day is not abuse i don't know what is. There is hardly a doctor in the world that will wright 180 and 180.
Avatar n tn Thank you much for your response. My eye has opened up and on the road to recovery. Just a little redness. You just have to wait very patiently.
535822 tn?1443976780 (NaturalNews) There's something afoot in the changing story about what actually killed Whitney Houston. According to the official coroner's report that was recently released, Whitney Houston died from drowning and cocaine was a "contributing factor." All the other prescription drugs found in her system were dismissed as being totally unrelated to her death. Really?
Avatar m tn I have seen a posting requesting an answer to a question about a drug to combat wd,s, I have a friend who is a judge and runs a very successful drug court and he stated the his court administers a drug called visiral, I'm not sure if that is the correct spelling, but he claims that it immediately arrests the craving for opiates, in his words, it is a miracle drug, one dosage type thing. Unfortunately I,m not in a position to come out to my Dr., family, & and friends.

Avatar f tn My original question was to convince my son to get help for his pill addiction. I saw a website in Houston called Detox Houston (which is where he lives) & I convinced him to go. The website looks great & sounds great but it is not. It's a joke. There is no follow-up help at all. He's had some terrible relapses & now I'm trying to find something else. He wants something that he can do as an outpatient. How do you go about finding a decent doctor/therapist to help you?

Avatar f tn we are trying to plan what to do to help him. We are trying to find an outpatient detox facility in Houston, Texas for him to go to. He has a great job & makes great money, but he's always broke. We don't give him any money. I have seen a place online called Detox Houston.com. Does anyone know anything about it? Any type of information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
725350 tn?1318680468 Where to start? I guess a little background information. I'm a 23 year old male, living in Houston, Tx. I'm a full time student and a full time worker, 15 hours of school a week and 40 hours work time. I make $41,000 a year, and will graduate in 1 and 1/2 years from a very respected program. I've got a wonderful relationship with a girl I love and one day hope to marry, a great family relationship and support system, and a nice place to live.
Avatar m tn The last time I had sex was on January 18, 2014 and none of these women were known to be HIV infected. I am a young and healthy straight male and have never touched a drug nor been jailed.
1944426 tn?1324088986 this forum is very helpful and it's a good addition to any addict's program of recovery. but there's no substitute for face-to-face interaction with addicts in recovery. i would suggest that you hook up with the NA folks in your area . . . you will find people who have been where you are and know the path to where you want to be. look at eanaonline-dot-org . . .
1372788 tn?1279215766 If people Like Oprah, Robin Williams, and Drew Barrymore, and ESPECIALLY Whitney Houston who are millionaires can overcome their addiction and claim their lives back, SO CAN WE!!
Avatar f tn Sub is not a wonder drug it can be a positive tool towards recovery but without recovery care like counseling or aa/na if can easily become a replacement for your DOC ...When you put the two together then it can be very effective tool towards recovery .What were you taking and how much of it ..
Avatar n tn t want to stay on another drug any longer than I need to. I have heard great things about this treatment and hope it works for me. I really want to get sober and stay sober. I am so relieved that I finally took this step and have NO vicodin in my house. This site really helped me to get the courage to take this step. I thank everyone that participates in this forum for your support.
Avatar f tn When rats, who self-administer cocaine by pressing a lever that delivers the cocaine into their bodies, are withdrawn from the drug for several weeks, their craving returns if they are exposed to the cues that accompanied drug delivery in the past; in this case, a tone and light. But if the rats are treated with ceftriaxone during withdrawal, they no longer seek cocaine when the cues are presented.
Avatar f tn So I'm in bed and I'm flipping through our DVR and I see that it recorded the movie on Lifetime about Whitney Houston. I press play and about 10 minutes into it, she's snorting coke at a party! I immediately turned it off and had to laugh! Not one of my brightest ideas!!! Good night everyone!!
