I was in rehab for the first time in March. Was only there for 2 weeks because I found out I was pregnant about a week into treatment. They tested me when I got there but the results didn't come back until 7 days into treatment. I was already out of detox. So I chose to stay clean and not get back on anything. They wanted to put me back on methadone which is what they used to wean me off the oxy contin.
I do not know what TALWIN is...do you have any more information? Is it an opiate? I was on opiates and detoxed at home going cold turkey. Welcome to this site and we are here to support you. Please provide any additional info about dosage you are on...

This behaviour is almost certain from using drugs (crack) Once addicted to this drug, you will stop at nothing to keep feeding this addiction. The problem is we have to want to quit ourselves and even then quitting crack is still next to impossible. I hate to say this, but if something is not done it is almost certain he will continue using as crack is a monster to beat without any help. I was around this drug a lot. I did not smoke it (just once), but did a lot of cocaine.

well the bright side is that diazepam is generally the standard drug used for a benzo taper....but the bad part is this is something that needs lots of time to be done correctly and it also needs to be supervised.
is 10mg your daily dose? there are plenty of taper plans that you can look at online...but they require time and they really are just a point of reference. ultimately it should be something you do with your doctors help and supervision.

I am trying to find advice about my 17 year old brother who is addicted to Oxycotin. He agreed to enter a rehab facility but once they realized his "level of use" they sent us to the emergency room where he was admitted for detox. The plan was to have him detox and then get him entered into the rehab facility. He has been at the hospital for 5 days now and is completely freaking out saying he needs to leave. There seems to be no place to send a kid to receive detox and rehab help.
I have a son in jail for drug addiction and we are going to court on monday, his girlfriend which is also addicted, and him tried to kill us just before christmas and both of them were arrested, my son was kept in jail for he did not comply with his parole rules, girlfriend was released, their 5 year old daughter Kelly was placed in our care and we are now trying to get custody of her until both of them are clean and has sorted their lives out.

SERIOUS help. Is rehab (a treatment-center) an option for him? If not, at the very least, he needs to get himself to a hospital so he can detox all the b/s out of his system before it KILLS him.

I'm hoping someone who understands addiction could help. My 21 yr. old son is an addict. He's been in rehab a few times in the past 4 years. His drug of choice is mainly marijuana, but he's used cocaine, oxcy and various other drugs and he drinks. Over the last month... he began drinking a lot, smoking pot a lot, snorting coke and doing a bit of this or that (I'm not sure).
