Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have spent the last month trying to get into the medical detox program at the center for addiction and mental Heath in Toronto. I'm feeling so frustrated that they are not consistent in returning my phone calls or giving me an admission date. I so badly want to get in and get my life back on track! The waiting is killing me! The longer I wait, the more I use. I could really use some support around hanging on and not giving up on the prospect of going into treatment.

Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.
Avatar n tn there is a med for crack addiction, but it does not work very well according to a friend of mine. he had terrible nightmares, and relapsed 2 weeks later , while taking the med. if he really wants to stop, and i mean for real, he needs to check into rehabs. if he doesnt like the idea of an inpatient rehab, have him check into severe outpatient programs... if that doesnt appeal to him, he needs to go to an NA/AA meeting every day for 30 days strait!!

Avatar m tn I live in Toronto, Canada. The oxy problem is reportably worse in somev U>S. states, but its also in Toronto,Its second to crack-cocaine,but first in the narcotic category.
Avatar m tn I have a son in jail for drug addiction and we are going to court on monday, his girlfriend which is also addicted, and him tried to kill us just before christmas and both of them were arrested, my son was kept in jail for he did not comply with his parole rules, girlfriend was released, their 5 year old daughter Kelly was placed in our care and we are now trying to get custody of her until both of them are clean and has sorted their lives out.
Avatar n tn t either before, but do now. Addiction *****, but we can break this cycle. There is help out there and rehab is not the only option. Have you ever thought about trying N/A or any other aftercare to stay clean. I think the fact you have told people and admitted your problem is a HUGE step and should be very proud of yourself for that. Keeping it a secret keeps us sick. Stick around this is a great support group. Look in the top right of this page.

8323481 tn?1405705654 I needed to be safe away from any kind of narcotic and alcohol. I went to Toronto, and found help abounding. I needed to get the toxins and go through the withdrawals in a safe place. I couldn't do it at home alone, having to go to work, feeling so sick. I was cared for wonderfully. I have a strong aftercare program set up with an addictions specialist doctor at a Toronto hospital, as well as an outpatient program at another hospital.
Avatar n tn My daughter is in rehab for pills addiction. I will be able to visit her in another month. She says she will be there for a total of 6 months. She has no money, no belongings, nothing. All was lost when she was forced to go to rehab. My question is: What can I expect when she is released? She says she will have to live on the streets if I don't help her. I tried to help her by paying her rent and giving her spending money but she spent it all on drugs was was evicted.
Avatar m tn I do not know what TALWIN is...do you have any more information? Is it an opiate? I was on opiates and detoxed at home going cold turkey. Welcome to this site and we are here to support you. Please provide any additional info about dosage you are on...
Avatar m tn So i am 6 months off a 4 year addiction to hydrocodones and also unemployed. I came across a job working in law enforcement. It would be people coming to you that have gotten in trouble with drug use and you are something like a parole officer but not with the authority, mostly gathering information and helping them out. Has anyone ever been involved in charges against them for drug use? Is this system a big farce and bad trip?
685931 tn?1226966388 In the end addiction is addiction regardless what your addicted to ...Do you have a therapist you can talk to ?
Avatar m tn what is the safest and quickest way to overcome an addiction to inhaling nitrous oxide gas? Are there any good rehab facilities?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with an addictive personality as well as a dual diagnosis (depression and drug addiction). I used meth and Loracets daily for 6 years. These 2 demons turned out to be my drug's of choice after trying most everything out there. Financially it was killing me and destroying my family life. I'm not sure why, because my husband is the best, that I had an affair with someone 15 yrs younger than I am. This went on for 6 months.
1087638 tn?1256625882 I do not know your drug but I know addiction. It sometimes takes many tries and the single hardest thing is staying off the drug. (That's why it is called an addiction). Think about how you started using again. What was the situation; what do you think caused it? Rehab centers sometimes need to be repeated. Did you have aftercare, groups? Therapy? after treatment? Was your situation intolerable without drugs. Are you in chronic pain? Start over. New start!
Avatar f tn you could detox yourself but with these large doses it would be best to get your doctor involved and he/she can help you taper off these pills come in smaller doses it would be good to have your doctor involved with a detox of this magnitude...that or a rehab... where all about doing it yourself but there are other issues that come into play here....med help also has a pain management forum google it it might be a better fit for your situation ...
Avatar m tn you are in toronto, right? im not sure about the rehab centres around there, but as you know in canada, they are almost all free. i live 5 minutes from one of the largest rehabs in ontario and have lots of info about this place. i think inpatient treatment is the best for you as crack is a bugger to beat, but with this help i know you can do it. i can tell you want this now and im happy to hear that you know you will need help to do this. best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn I would try to go the detox/rehab route because of the combination of the drugs and alcohol. A focused intervention with a drug counselor could be set up with a trip to detox immediately. Look in your phone book for drug/alcohol assistance. It is usually in the front pages in a special services section. She is in heavy denial and needs to be approached with a worked out strategic plan. Good Luck. Ask for lots of help.
Avatar f tn I'm afraid of the withdrawls. Single mom of 3. Help me! Should I do rapid detox? Or check into rehab? Please someone help me!
Avatar f tn This drug is a horrible drug. I hope you choose to fight the addiction and come on top. Please message me if you need any help. Friend me on here. I want to help.
Avatar m tn Hi Bob...did/would you consider going into a detox or rehab center? They would medicate you so that the withdrawl symptoms aren't as bad as they would be coming off the Norco by yourself and you'd be in a controlled environment where you couldn't be tempted to take anything. I once had a 20 Percocet a day habit, but I was younger and although it was hell, the withdrawl was easier than it would be now. It took 3 days of detoxing for me to start feellilng better.
Avatar f tn Suffering from an addiction this site could be help you. They are providing treatment for those who are addicted to the drugs.
