Valium does degrade situational awareness as well as intellectual acuity, and may interfere with driving safety, although that is more of a problem for the first time user. I have used it (prescribed by a physician) rarely, when under extreme stress, and then only for a day or two, and never became addicted.

Avatar f tn I have been on methadone now for about 1 and a half years......for much of this time i was using drugs (Synthetic Heroin) as well.....yes i know that that isnt good...but due to various reasons it was very hard to completely quit.......(FYI I was on the pills alone for only about 7 months when I decided for financial reasons that I had to try to quit or a least cut back a lot)........ Avatar n tn s doing there is a risk of over medicating and addiction. Do any of the doctors know about each other? Do you have your own family doctor? I would bring it up with your's because I wouldn't know how to go about dealing with this or making a judgement regarding addiction. I know this can't happen in BC because all of the doctor's activities are watched by one main system as we are all on the same health insurance. If he gets angry about it, some red flags are flying.

Avatar m tn Its been pretty miserable. Its fairly easy for to me get clean. Staying clean is my problem. I have battled addiction for 20 years.I have a chronic health issue. I know one day at a time. But staying clean for the rest of my life seems impossible. I am concerned. Right now I am really craving the drug. Any suggestions on long term sobriety?
Avatar m tn No matter what drug you try to not drink or drug you will become addicted to. Get medical help off the drug and AA to deal with why you use/abuse. There is hope if you want it.
