Not a question but I wanted to let this group know about the Dr. Oz Show about when is too old to have a baby. It airs next Fri. 1/27/12 and our very own 1biologist is a guest. It was a very interesting show and there were alot of things brought up about over 40 women TTC especially. Of course all of us TTC over 40 have researched it to death, it is still a good show. It discusses the pros and cons as well as the risks.

I think we should start a movement to get this condition on Dr. Oz since his show is all about medical/health issues.

I have a good article from Dr. Oz on some things but am not typing it out at the moment. Just watched his show and love it! I hope he does a fertility/pregnancy episode soon!!! Anyone else a fan of his?

I'm 34 weeks and 4 days and at my last appointment my Dr told me by baby was about 6 pounds. Has anyone else had a baby close to this around this time, and how did labor go? I don't want a c-section if I don't have to have one. And I don't see how she could be that big when I've only gained 19 pounds this who time. Somewhat like the ice bucket challenge, we (lymies) have been challenging well known people to take a bite out of Lyme. Today Dr Oz did the challenge and had his whole audience participate. It was awesome seeing them do that. He also discussed Avril Lavigne's recent Lyme diagnosis. It is very exciting to see how far we have come in the last few years.

m 24 weeks when I was 17weeks we had my ultrasound done the baby was at 6 oz the lady said it was a little big went into the dr today an my stomach is measuring at 28 inches the dr had to do a double take bc he could not believe it! He said he is hopin that the baby is just really stretched out but when I come back in4 weeks that he really hopes I'm not measuring at that again!

I would look into this seriously. Have you ever had a seizure? Has your Dr. ever seen this? If not....Video tape it happening! Take the video to the Dr. It is amazing how they will listen when they actually see what you are talking about!

With my son I did have GD which was diet controlled and never had an issue. He was still a fairly small baby and never had trouble on the twice a week NST or weekly u/s's. I had a Dr who refused to let me carry full term with him and tried to make me deliver at 38 wks and I refused. They had me scared and made me deliver at 39wks. Being my first I didn't know what else to do. I now have a different Dr (midwife) who I love.

Please check out marksdailyapple.com. You should cut back on sugars DEFINITELY they are highly inflammatory. Inflammation is the leading cause of cholesterol problems. FAT is not the culprit but you have to eat the right kind of Fat.. the right kind of foods. FOODS TO AVOID - GRAINS, SUGAR.. Dark chocolate is fine, 70% or higher and if you are putting tons of sugar in your coffee I would definitely stay away from it.. lots of caffeine is not good for you either...

So I'm 24 weeks today. I went to the dr yesterday and had an ECO done on the baby because I'm diabetic (i was diabetic before i got pregnant) and my dr said when your diabetic your baby is at a higher risk for heart defects.. Well everything came back normal but he's kind of a big baby. He weighs 1pound 8 oz and is in the 66th percentile. So my question is, has anyone had large babies due to diabetes? And did they have any trouble trying to control your babys glucose?

Recently watched a live news feed (google Dr Oz and diabetes) and was interested in what he said. He states 90% of the time you can actually eliminate it by losing weight. 10 lb reduction will decrease risk by 60%. He also said on one of his shows that a teaspoon of cinnamon a day will also effect it. Particularly pre- diabetes. Been giving my dad cinnamon when he visits in his coffee. Know Dr Oz is a bit of commercialization, but sometimes he's spot on.

i had it with my first and he came out 7 lbs 3 oz (normal) I have it again this pregnancy I but I'm only 30 weeks I'll most likely get induced so baby doesn't get to big.

Well my ultrasound says right now the baby is 10 pounds 7 oz at 40 weeks so I'm getting a c section Monday. And I'm a ftm, I had gestional diabetes so that's probably why he is so big.

Isn't my baby too big for my how far along I am? The dr did the ultrasound and said that's how big is he. .I asked if that was normal & she said yes. . But every where I read says a baby should only be one pound at this point. I'm not over weight or even very big at all--haven't even switched to maternity clothes. . Help!

How did they estimate it measuring your tummy or ultrasound. I had gd with my first had a big tummy dr measured me and told me she would be 9lbs. I had a 5 lb healthy baby girl at 39weeks.

hi there, I saw this show today and wonder what is with Montel? Last time I saw him on Dr Oz, he was supporting medical Marj. Now it's Root and Herbs that will help. I'm guessing he bought a copper suite company and is looking to make a few bucks. Not sure why he was so hyper?

I agree with gymdandee. Don't waste your hard earned money. There really haven't been enough studies to prove that it actually works or to determine what side effects there might be. Dr. Oz endorses it but isn't his show a bit sensationilistic?
