doryx

Avatar n tn However, she became extremely lethargic, loss of appetite, weight loss, and hair loss/skin lesions. She was then started on a two week dose of doxy followed by two weeks of zenaquin. she has lost over 6lbs and was only 35lbs to begin with. She was just put on another two weeks of zenaquin. Her blood tests revealed high WBC, low RBC, and low T4. It is now about two months from the start of her symptoms and she is still very sick with little improvement from the meds.
Avatar n tn Oh my god. I've been recently prescribed Doryx 150mg. The dermatologist gave me samples (3 tablets per bottle) and I've taken 5 tablets already. I had the fright of my life as I washed my hair today-- more than the usual fell off! This has never happened to me before and I am upset and scared that since Doryx has a delayed-release formula, it will take days for my system to get rid of the drug! I'm waiting to hear from that dermatologist about this horrible side effect.
Avatar n tn The first derm denied it could be the doxycycline however second derm said it probably was the doxycycline as she has had patients on doxy experience hair loss but assured me it would grow back. She told me to come back in three months but im so worried about it constantly and dont want to go bald. Most of hair loss seems to be on the back of head near neck/nape area and front, my part is also thinning.
Avatar f tn Dear Jackie, I do not have this disease but, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, abdominal pain, cough, diarrhea, sore and aching joints, and also change in mental status are all side effects that are extremely common. I’m sorry to say that I don't know much about the treatment for it other than the antibiotics... side effects can always be tricky and i really don't want to tell you to do something that might make it worse...
631676 tn?1333718203 I am so very sorry about your loss and the aftermath of sadness and anger. When I had my 2nd m/c I was so full of anger that it scared me. I had to tell my Obgyn and she wanted to keep an eye on it. I eventually went on Prozac. Anger is a very common emotion during the grief process. It may help to try and get your anger out thorough a fitness program, maybe a punching bag or weight machines, treadmill? Try crying and screaming at the top of your lungs - just get it out.
Avatar f tn Our 7 year old yellow lab Rocco was recently diagnosed in the last stage of renal failure just a couple weeks ago. I brought him to our regular vet with symptoms of loss of appetite, bad breath & nausea. The vet did a brief exam & said his exam was unremarkable & didn’t feel like a blood work was necessary. Said he looks like a healthy dog. A week later I called the vet back & said I wanted blood work done. On a Friday they performed blood work & urinalysis.
Avatar m tn I was taking alli that time and thought that was the cause of maybe dehydration or loss of essential vitamins to my body, since I never took a multiple vitamin which was instructed to do while on the over the counter weight loss medication. The doctor gave me a urine test which resulted in slight blood in my urine which also turned out to be negative for a UTI, so for precaution, he tested me for ghonarhea and chlamydia. Doxycycline was prescribed. Results negative.
Avatar m tn s hard to tell over the net, syphilis usually starts with a painless red sore called chancre on the genitals (or anus/mouth if that was the sexual contact) and then progresses to a rash, fever, headache, loss of appetite, weight loss and sore throat (this can occur weeks to months after the contact). You may be overacting, best consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn Rapid weight loss, in the absence of conscious endeavor to do so, indicates the presence of an underlying debilitating disorder and needs careful and detailed medical evaluation. Conditions that need to be ruled out include, cancer, AIDS, tuberculosis, and other disorders of the immune system.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with folliculitis, and have been prescribed Doxycycline. I have been taking it now for almost two months and I have gained 10lbs very quick. I am still very active and have done nothing different as far as my diet goes. Is this a possible side effect of the antibiotic.
Avatar m tn fast weight loss is most of the time lost water and muscles. Fat takes ages to go away. Third: Think of a diet as something permanent. Crash diets just help you gain weight faster once they are over. So, pick some simple rules of a balanced and healthy diet, and follow them. Don't sweat it if you crave for something "bad", to a balanced diet belongs the bad side, too. If you give in now to a small piece of chocolate, it is much better than to eat two whole packages later.
Avatar f tn Yes please talk to your dr, there are many things that could cause rapid or excessive weight loss and some of them can be serious. In addition to Thyroid and GI testing maybe ask about diabetes. It seems odd, but it can cause weight loss.
Avatar f tn I promise you your completely fine. I'm 19 weeks haven't gained any weight. Lost weight and the baby is perfect. It didn't matter how tall or how much you weight as long as baby measures up during ultrasound it's perfectly fine.
Avatar f tn More can be lost through water weight with diuretics and crash dieting can also increase fat loss but only for a short time. When we lose fat too fast our metabolism will slow in order to conserve fat (fuel) deposits (starvation mode) and that creates new problems such a resetting the metabolic rate and fat gains during the plateau, etc.
10299247 tn?1409208876 I am 19 weeks and have lost 23 lbs. I to was about 185 when I got pregnant and was considered over weight. My Dr isn't concerned at all about weight loss and I have been terribly sick the whole pregnancy too. Dr just tells me to eat what I can and what will stay down. Also to drink lots of water. Right now baby girl is measuring a head of schedule so as long as she's fine I'm fine. If your dr isn't concerned I wouldn't be either.
10025015 tn?1422498264 Why is my doctor so worried about me losing weight instead of gaining it? Before pregnancy i was 210, and today at my 12 week appointment i dropped to 198. I'm actually happy about the loss but i know i'm supposed to gain weight instead but it's just being sick & being nauseaded!
Avatar f tn I'm 10 weeks and down about 7 pounds. The doctor isn't concerned.
