1394098 tn?1385960134 I'm finishing week 42 of a 48 week tx. Do sx get worse the longer you are on tx. In the last few weeks, I've forgotten more, ate less, and am tired all of the time. The fatigue is the worst thing. I sleep all of the time. It's hard for the husband because he is alone all the time. Heck even my cats wait outside my door. I don't let them in often because I want to sleep and they want love. I give them a lot when I'm up.
Avatar n tn Those sound like normal side effects of prednisone. Nasty drug but can save a dog's life. My golden has been taking 50mg daily for 2 months and the side effects are horrible.
Avatar m tn My question is, would the increase in acid reflux and stomach pain be a likely side effect of the doxycycline. I know doxycycline can cause acid reflux or stomach pain right after you take it, but could it cause it many hours later? What about the itchy bumps on my arm? I know doxycycline can make your skin sensitive to light, so might that be a skin reaction caused by it?
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced side effects from this?? I have taken it before but the next day after I took it this time.. I started to get joint pain in knee and elbows real bad with some hand pain..
Avatar f tn Hello, I had a little of Savannah kittens and when they were a few days old I noticed pus coming out of their eyes. I took them to the vet and got Pentamycetin eye drops to help whatever it is. I noticed the father (in a separate room) also starting to have teary eyes. I then took him to the vet and got blood work done. Nothing showed up. Then I had another vet recommend an eye swab for the kittens. It came back positive for D355 Mycoplasma. I then checked my other cats and they have it too.
Avatar n tn In fact, there would be no harm in discussing the Doxycycline reatment and your concerns about side effects with your vet anyway, and it would be perfectly in order to call the vet's office, ask if there is a time during the day you can speak to your vet when he is not busy. No doubt he will call you back when he has a moment to discuss the treatment with you.

Avatar f tn He is eating but very sick. I have some Doxycycline Monohydrate 100 mg. capsules and was wondering if this type of antibiotic is safe to administer to cats? I can not afford any vet at all right now, but I need to do something. If Doxycycline Monohydrate is not okay, is grape flavor liquid tylenol for infants? Thank you very much in advance!
Avatar f tn I am pregant for more than 4 weeks, but I have taken Doxycycline Hyclate Tablets for 7 days during pregnancy. Now I am worried about the side effects on my baby. Can I keep pregnant or not?
Avatar f tn I have read so many posts where people have significant (severe) side effects years after completing treatment. Are there any studies or evaluations on post-treatment side effects? Any comments?
Avatar f tn Doxycycline is not related to amoxicillin and sulfa drugs as it belongs to a different category of drugs(tetracyclines).Side effects of doxycycline are headache, dizziness, blurred vision, body aches, flu symptoms, skin rashes, chest tightness, respiratory difficulty, nausea, vomiting etc. I strongly advise you to ask your daughter to stop taking doxycycline so that no life threatening anaphylaxis occurs.
Avatar n tn what is the half life of oxycodone in cats? I've heard it works well for pain in cats. I'm trying to get more information on what may help my 12 year old cat. I'd like to have my questions in order before I pay my/her vet?

372900 tn?1315512302 Well, I have two cats, right? One of them experienced side effects to flea treatment. The other one was fine all the time. Side effects: Redness, itchy skin, and hair loss. The third month everything was fine. But he did experience side effects. The product is Revolution, but it works beautifully!
Avatar m tn Hi Doctors, I made a bonehead mistake and may have taken an extra dose of my 100mg Doxycycline treatment. To be more specific, on day 10 of the 14 days I'm scheduled to be taking the antibiotic I may have taken 3 pills instead of two. I also mistakenly missed one dose on day 5 of the treatment but was advised not to take a "make-up" dose for that by my doctor friend who proscribed the treatment (he's currently out of the country which is why I'm writing now).
4939681 tn?1361299299 You're welcome! I haven't taken either of the above, but I know that warnings of permanent side effects from antibiotics and parasitic medications aren't always made well known, so I thought the post was extremely helpful to any of those suggested to take these meds. I, myself, have been experiencing horrible muscle spasms since my 2 day stint with Biaxin.
