My question is, would the increase in acid reflux and stomach pain be a likely side effect of the doxycycline. I know doxycycline can cause acid reflux or stomach pain right after you take it, but could it cause it many hours later? What about the itchy bumps on my arm? I know doxycycline can make your skin sensitive to light, so might that be a skin reaction caused by it?

I had a little of Savannah kittens and when they were a few days old I noticed pus coming out of their eyes. I took them to the vet and got Pentamycetin eye drops to help whatever it is. I noticed the father (in a separate room) also starting to have teary eyes. I then took him to the vet and got blood work done. Nothing showed up. Then I had another vet recommend an eye swab for the kittens. It came back positive for D355 Mycoplasma. I then checked my other cats and they have it too.
He had dental surgery done and they gave him Convenia without explaining the risks and or side effects to me, nor giving me an alternative for him. Anyways, he is now having small episodes of his head twitching / shaking. I called my vet doctor, they said to keep an eye on him and to bring him in after 5 days, if he's still having these symptoms. But I am concerned now! He was perfectly healthy before his dental surgery.
He is eating but very sick. I have some Doxycycline Monohydrate 100 mg. capsules and was wondering if this type of antibiotic is safe to administer to cats? I can not afford any vet at all right now, but I need to do something. If Doxycycline Monohydrate is not okay, is grape flavor liquid tylenol for infants?

ll bet the infection was never culturd snd it may be entirely resistant to Doxycycline. Shortness of breath if NOT a side effect of Doxycycline.

I made a bonehead mistake and may have taken an extra dose of my 100mg Doxycycline treatment. To be more specific, on day 10 of the 14 days I'm scheduled to be taking the antibiotic I may have taken 3 pills instead of two. I also mistakenly missed one dose on day 5 of the treatment but was advised not to take a "make-up" dose for that by my doctor friend who proscribed the treatment (he's currently out of the country which is why I'm writing now).
I don't know if these are symptoms of a condition or side effects of some of my meds, so can someone help?
I take Norvasc, Altace, Lexapro, Crestor, AndroGel, Doxycycline Hyclate, and Advair 250/50. I have been on the first 4 for years. The last 3 have been added within the last several months. I also have Severe Sleep Apnea, but I use my APAP religiously. AHI is usually <4, but will on ocassion sneak up to 5.
All last week during my crazy symptoms, I was taking two a day 100 mg of doxycycline a day to clear up what I am sure was a form of either urinary infection of some form of chylamidia. After some research on the internet, I found that most cases have some pretty nausiating side effects, loss of appetite and all that fun stuff.. thats also backed from what I have heard from a lot of other soldiers around here.
I am well aware of what the side effects are but I dont care. Do any of you doctors out there give more than 2 a year? The shot seems to only work for about 3 months than I have to wait and suffer since cream and oitments dont work anymore and have horrible cosmetic side effects. I am a healthy 21 year old mal and have had this for 5 years on my face. Never had it as a child and no one in my family history.
