I seem to be having a rash reaction to Doxycycline and have taken Benedryl...so far, no other symptoms after 10 hours. If I keep taking Doxy for the next 10 days, will my symptoms likely get worse or stay the same? With such a long half life, I'm likely to have this experience for several days anyway.
I now am taking doxycycline twice a day for 21 days. I have taken about half of my medication so far... (about a week and half worths) and I am still in pain pretty much all the time. I am starting to develop a yeast infection on my penis from taking so many anti-biotics for this prolonged period of time. My urologist says it will eventually go away, but I am beginning to have doubt since I have had this pretty much non stop for a half year. I really need help!!!!
I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
You have nothing to worry about. The half life of doxycycline is such that having taken the extra dose now and therefore being one dose short at the end of therapy will not in any way effect the outcome of your therapy. In addition, there is little risk to you of having bad side effects from a single extra pill other than perhaps a little higher chance of having an upset stomach. If that hasn’t happened yet, you have nothing to worry about.
Had oral sex with a woman I met on adult website now have swollen sublingual area and swollen lymph node could this be sti also was on 100 Doxycycline hylate a day for acne for awhile would this prevent any thing? The swelling began after two and half weeks but also had my teeth cleaned could that cause a sublingual infection?

I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
