doxycycline group a strep

I’m a 22 y/o girl who went to the docs today and she said what I have on my perineum looks a lot like a strep infection. It hasn’t effected my vagina and I haven’t had any discharge or pain. She said it does not look like Herepres or typical warts. I am on a course of doxycycline. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar strep infection in the vaginal region. NO I’m not pregnant or anything by the way. I got swabbed and now I have to wait a week.

You should probably see your doctor and if its still positive for Streptococcus Group B then ask her about prescribing you penicillin/amoxicillin because I had a UTI was treated with doxycycline and still had a recurring problem then treated for bacterial vaginotis and treated with flagyl pills...

One doctor found that I have Group A Strep present in my vaginal swabs, which he told me was quite rare but there are some articles online that show that other women who have had this have had the same symptoms as me. We tried a 10 day course of antibiotics (penicillin) with no success. We then treated my boyfriend (who was negative but just in case) and me again with another 10 day course. I also recieved vaginal cream for 7 days.

So my last appointment I found out I was a carrier of group b strep:/ and I am kinda worried I'm allergic to antibiotics and worried the medications she wants to give me while in delivery won't work as good or the same as a antibiotic. Its bad enough I'm a germ freak and made my family and bfs family get the tdap shot now this!? Anyone else have to deal with group b strep?

I also noticed small dots of white puss on my tonsils. By the 5-6th day I took a strep test and got the results about 2 days later.. Came out positive for Strep Group C. I've been taking z-pack that I had extra for the past 5 days. I am positive for hsv-1 which I believe I've had since I was young BUT I am worried that I may have contracted HSV-2 or some other STD orally. My throat is feeling better but still hurts a little and it has been over a week.

This is my second pregnancy, with my first one everything was fine but with this one I tested positive for the group b strep! I am very worried and can't stop thinking about it. I researched it and wants mortified with what I found out about it. I am terrified! Has anyone else dealt with this?

Well group b strep affected both my pregnancys with my daughter's I had it with my first at 15 because I'm a carrier of group b strep and my wagers went at 12weeks and I delivered her at 23 weeks she couldn't make it because her lungs didnt develope and she couldn't move or cry and then I had my 2nd daughter in November at 21+6 but doctors didn't give me anything because I wasnt 24 weeks and my baby didn't had a chance of surviving they both past away but it only affects

I have 2 boys and I also was a carrier for group b strep, not a big deal, while your in labour they'll hook pen g into your IV so it will have no affect on your baby :)

Anyone else not have Group B Strep in their previous pregnancies and then get a positive test for it during one? Ive never had a positive result for Group B before with my other pregnancies but I do with this one. My Dr said its common hence why they test for it all the time but Im just curious.

I have had 3 babies and tested positive for group B strep with one of them, my Dr too told me that it really is'nt a big deal atleast not until you deliver. group B strep is a normal bacteria in teh vagina and happens off and on to a lot of women and they never know about it. from what i understand from my doctor while pregnant the baby is protected from group B strep, but during the delivery the bacteria can get in the baby's mouth and cause an infection which is bad for the baby.

I was group b strep positive with my daughter my doc just said some women have it and some don't they will just give you antibiotics threw ur iv during birth so the baby don't get phnumonia

Every woman has group B Strep (it's part of the natural microflora that inhabits your vagina), but they are actually testing for levels of the bacteria. When you test positive, it means you have a higher than optimal bacteria count. It's not a problem at all when treated with antibiotics, which will bring the count to a normal level. It typically doesn't even cause problems when untreated, but it can. It's more of a precaution than anything.

Babies can become very sick from a Group B strep infection but this is not 100% i.e., not every baby born to a Group B strep infected mother gets sick. Are you pregnant? Group B strep is treated with penicillin or the like.

I had it too and yes you can still have the epidural. Group strep b isn't a bad thing at all for adults, it's just not good for baby, that's why we need the antibiotics.

So today I was told by my midwife that I have tested positive for group B strep. She didn't really explain what it is and told me not to google it. I’m looking into group B strep since my new sexual partner was diagnosed with a group B Strep infection. His symptoms of the throat sound similar to yours. He has a very sore throat with bumps/blisters. He went to urgent care, they did s quick test for group A strep (regular “strep throat”) which came back negative. They told him that he most likely had s Vidal infection, took a culture, and would contact him in a couple days. The results came back that he has group b strep.

I am also positive. Mine is so prominent that i didn't even need a test. It showed up in a urine sample. It's a very simple fix though with penicillin during labor.i ended up getting a c section but i still got it anyway.

And I read somewhere on here just earlier that someone found out they had it, and now it's on Discovery Health, a woman found out that she has it and is recieving antibiotics during delivery..

I had one daughter at 37 weeks and one on her due date with group b strep. My dr never told me it caused early labor and I've never had a bladder infection or a uti in my life. The antibiotics aren't going to do anything really. Its a bacteria that lives in you and is completely harmless to us.
