t even look at my scalp and prescribed me with doxycycline for a whole year 2 pills a day, but after being on the antibiotic I think I have developed gram-negative folliculitus which cause large pimples to appear on my nose ( boils in other words). I know that I should stop taking the antibiotics to stop the gram-negative folliculitus but this time around the folliculitus on my scalp has become itchy and painful.
In the meatal area there was a clear but not discharging secretions. I self treated with 1 gram of Cipro and 1 gram of Azithromycin, followed by 250mg per day of Azithromycin for 2 days. However, symptoms of pharyngitis & urethritis continued. I went to my doctor about a week after having taken the Azithromycin & Cipro.
As I browsed the net and read some articles, I have learned that gonorrhea is not gram positive cocci, it is gram negative. Prior to my sexual contact, I experienced a little similar to that like a little difficulty in urinating because I don't drink much water and I took a lot of supplements in the gym like creatine wherein I only learned lately that it can affect your kidneys or can cause UTI.

I am an asian and got into a sexual relationship with an unkown girl who claimed to be not having any STD or HIV at all. We had unprotected sex about 8 weeks back and then we got into the protected sex with condoms on for about 5-6 times in this duration.
Last week I got some itching in my penis and foreskin was getting tight but I didn't take it seriously. The next day, we had sex with condom on but then the foreskin didn't come back to its original position at all.

then on june 6 i have unprotected sex, then later june 19 or 20 i saw yellowish discharge on my underwear, no burn in urinating its just the discharge then i took a gram stain it came out negative. The next day I had a sting in the head of my penis which lasted a few seconds. Next day pain, and the following day, discharge. Was given a gram of arythromycin. Discharge stopped, pain continued. Frequently feeling like I need to pee. Doc suggested it was viral and gave me 1 week of Valtrex + doxycycline. Things settled, but 2 days after meds stopped pain continued.

Thanks! I just saw a doctor today (not a derm) and he was pretty informative.
He said accutane too. Third doctor to say that.
And he said it looks like it could be gram negative or staphylococcus folliculitis. He didn't do any tests but let me see a book with pictures. Mine is so much worse than the worst pictures in there. Crazy.
Anyway, he decided to treat it like gram negative folliculitis.
Gave me aterax to take 3 times a day for the extreme itching.
The gram staining showed Negative for Trichomoniasis and Monilia. But says many coccobacilli, few gram positive bacilli with many pus cells and clue cells noted. Pap smear says I have Benign reactive changes (typical repair) and pathologist wrote "Severe acute inflammation". The itchiness and swelling subsided a bit with the antibiotic but the purulent discharge is still there but I no longer have to wear pantyliners cause it no longer leaks out.
I am currently on a 10 day regimen of two 100 gram doses of doxycycline for urethritis caused by as of yet unspecified condition. Unfortunately once I got home I took the first dose at 5 PM. Some friends came over shortly after wards and I caught myself having a handful or two of corn chips before it was even 5:45. I know you aren't supposed to eat anything for 2 hours after taking the medication and have since made it a point to stick to the regime.

Further information for you. I had a urine test and urethral swab done this week. They came back negative for stds and uti's. No blood was detected in the urine. Occasional gram stain positive cocci & and occasional gram stain positive bacilli were found. However i was told that these were normal bacteria. I have an appointment in two weeks with a dermatologist and a urologist again. Look foward to your reply on this.
