1100598 tn?1413127426 I have asthma. In October, I developed an upper respiratory infection that caused swollen lymph nodes in my neck and an ear infection/sore throat, and later on a cough. The cough has hung on since then. I have had two chest x-rays, which have come back negative. My doctor put me on a course of prednisone, which did nothing. The cough brings up a foaming white phlegm, and sometimes causes heart palpitations.
Avatar f tn This sounds like an upper respiratory infection for which kitty needs to see a vet as soon as possible, like now if there is an emergency clinic open. Human meds aren't safe to try and use. Left untreated, he may well lose his eyes. Most vets will work out a payment plan. Over the counter pain meds like Tylenol or aspirin, cats can not process properly and they will damage their liver. I'm not able to offer anything other than that, except good luck.
Avatar n tn Infections usually start out as upper respiratory infections, such as from a cold and then travel down into your lungs (lower respiratory infection). Other times it's from getting the flu and a secondary infection sets in, such as pneumonia or acute bronchitis. Other times you could get acute bronchitis from being exposed to a lot of irritants in the air (such as wood dust, heavy pollution etc).
Avatar m tn 2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn . ( zosyn ran for 20 hrs per day and genta for 1hr) .
2041076 tn?1329881359 I am uncertain about what this statement means but assume the symptoms to be those of a cold or another type of upper respiratory infection. Such symptoms may be caused by persistent or recurrent infection but, in many instances are caused by repeated exposure to, 1) an allergic substance or, 2) to an irritant; that is, they can be caused by something present in your environment.
Avatar f tn Anyone ever had an upper respiratory infection during their pregnancy? If so, did it affect your baby in any way?

Avatar m tn The second time was last Sunday. I was taking Azithromycin for my upper respiratory tract infection at that time( from last Thursday, 500mg per day). The Azithromycin was finished this Tuesday. But I felt some tingling in my urethritis, kind of hot in it sometimes since the morning of Friday. The symptom get more obvious later on till now. Some times, I feel kind of pain in the urethritis, totally durable and not heavy.
Avatar m tn 13 days after the experience I had little upper respiratory infection, which i get often.. I went to the doctor and he gave me 10 days of doxycycline 2 times a day. please help me to figure out what is going on.. could this be seconary syphilis..?
Avatar f tn One thing that I have noticed on all of the charts is that runny noses, stuffed noses, etc. are more indicative of a cold. There are upper respiratory infections and lower respiratory infections. Colds are upper and Corona virus is lower. The hallmarks of the corona virus are dry cough, fever and shortness of breath. I do read a lot that people also may start with a sore throat. But sneezing and a lot of nose activity is more of a cold symptom.

Avatar f tn No infection gives you immediate symptoms - they all have incubation periods, which is the time from infection to the time you have symptoms. If it is an infection, he could have gotten it prior to this encounter. The doxy will cure NGU, but won't cure gonorrhea. It could also be something non-sexually related. He could be dehydrated, have an inflamed prostate, a UTI, or a host of other things, which is why it's so problematic that he didn't do ANY testing at all.
Avatar f tn Well, goodness, doxy is taken for all kinds of reasons - acne, bronchitis and other upper respiratory infections, eye infections, gum disease, even malaria. It's a broad spectrum antibiotic, which means it's used for many, many things. She's a CSW. You aren't entitled to her medical history. This is not a relationship where you share personal details. Oral IS a risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.
Avatar m tn I began having debilitating digestive issues. I took a course of amoxycilin and doxycycline for an upper respiratory infection that I had gotten when I was about 21 - 22 years old while in college. Pretty much ever since then, October of 2009, my digestive sytem is more or less non-functioning.
Avatar f tn The information you have provided suggests that the primary problem is respiratory (in your lungs or upper respiratory tract) and the first step should be for your doctor determine what is going on in your lungs or sinuses as it is likely that the other symptoms you describe especially “headache all the time” and fatigue are likely to be secondary to the respiratory problem.
Avatar m tn Just treat the upper respiratory infection? Will my general practice doctor be able to treat an eye issue? Thank You.
