Hello! I am scheduled for an hsg test 3-4 days before ovulation (I use ovulation tests). I was prescribed to take Doxycycline (as a preventive measure) 2 days before the test and 3 days after the test. In case the test result is fine, do you think it will be ok to TTC this month? How long does it take for a Antibiotic to be eliminated from the body? (I usually don't take any medication while ttc). How quickly after hsg can we ttc? I appreciate you answer. He also scheduled me for my HSG, which I went for this morning. Some family told me to expect slight cramping, like during a menstrual period but what I experienced was a lot more. It wasn't unbareable but it did hurt. My husband actually got weak from seeing me in pain! AWWWW! :) The doctor told me my uterus looks fine and my left tube is completely clear but my right tube is questionable.

Having HSG next week. I was wondering if it would be okay to take some xanax or percocet before the procedure. The doc said to take 3 Advil but I'm very nervous and scared, would it be alright? If so, which one would be better?

I'm a bit confused about your question. HSG is a diagnostic test to see if your tubes are blocked. It's not really therapeutic in nature. It's just one of the tests they do for infertility work ups. Maybe if blocked tube is your problem the dye can clear some blockage, but I've got no evidence of that. So to answer your question...lots of people have become pregnant after the HSG, but I don't think the HSG was the reason for the pregnancy.

The doctor told me if we were nervous the fallopian tubes would not open even with hsg especially if the radiologist was not experienced enough. Before the hsg the doctor prescribed me a medicine which i forgot its name. It was to make the lower abdomen relaxed. My suggestion would be try to do a second or third hsg before the surgery.

Your friend could have meant another test - the sonohysterogram where they measure and size your uterus by injecting saline. This one is definitely done for each IVF. It is similar to hsg but there is no dye inserted and it is done by u/s, not xray. It's is much easier and less painful. They do this so they know exactly where to place the embryos.

YES. Cost 200 euros, which is OK for this service. I was really scared before the whole procedure, but they did a very good care of me, and nothing was scary at the end.the whole procedure took maybe 3 minutes...without no pain ( but my tubes were clear). Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?

Did ultra sound and could not see anything and HSG negative . Doc asked me to wait for another 2 weeks . I still have not got my mensus ? Will it be possible to know that status at the later stage ?

The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !

I had my tubes tied almost 5 years ago. Ablation done two years after that. I still have my cycle regularly, it is lighter than what it used to be but still pretty normal. I have met a wonderful man and I'm wanting to be able to give him a child. So I'm wanting to know if there are any successful tubal reversals after the ablation, or were there complications. Make a long storie short at 17years old I had a son but could only hold in for 6 months due to blood intf he passed away the same day only 1 lbs. Well after what I thought all the bad was done it was not somthing was left in my ur so had a DnC and they cut me on my inside doing the DnC then on top of it all my tube got an inf so now I have scar tis. Count, Motility, Morphology, everything in semen analysis is good. Can someone suggest list of reasons for no conception even though semen, hsg, ssg all are good? ---- Before Salphingography procedure: No obvious intra / extra-uterine gestational sac is seen. Uterus is anteverted and anteflexed in position. Both the ovaries show few follicles within. Both adnexae are clear. No obvious mass lesion is seen. No free fluid is seen in the Pouch of Douglas.

I guess it kind of depends on what questions you already have on your list. =) As a "general" guide line, I'd say make sure to ask your RE exactly how he/she works in terms of testing and treatments. In other words, find out the order of tests he will want to perform.

1) The HSG in January was misread, and the tubes in fact were blocked at that time 2) The tubes were open, but already damaged by a past infection at that time 3) An infection occurred between the HSG and the laparoscopy. I think number 3 is least likely, since you obviously had infertility already which is why the January HSG was done in the first place. Does this help?

I'm currently taking Doxycycline for anti-malaria reasons. I was wondering if it's unsafe to take for 5 consecutive months?

Thanks for your reply. I thought when they do the die test that an exray is involved and they use that to see if the die travels the whole way through the tube. I know I didn't pay for an exray. Am I wrong about them needing to do an exray? She is good at what she does. I can't imagine that she'd make a statement saying it looked good w/ o really looking. I took single dose of doxycycline everyday for 6 weeks during the summer. Would that have cleared a chamydia infection.

I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
