Avatar n tn My thumb got very hard after doing floral design. I was treated for cellulitis with doxycycline. After a few days, the thumb started softening and feeling much more normal again. It started to feel a little worse while I was still on the doxycycline but was sidelined with a head cold. After resting from the headcold for a couple of days, that's when the thumb seemed worse and I woke up with terrible ringing in the ears.

Avatar m tn Thank you for your help. My doctor prescribed an antibiotic cream and tetracycline (doxycycline) which I've been using for a week and it has cleared up.Although he didn't test he thought it was likely caused by a spider or tick bite( with the risk of Lyme disease). .

Avatar f tn m having trouble posting it anywhere else. I recently had an outbreak of cellulitis on my leg that spread quickly. I went to the emergency room where they sent me home on erythromycin. A day later, is was much worse and had spread down my leg, up my buttocks and below the knee. I went to my GP who then prescribed me clindamycin on top of the erythromycin and codeine for pain. When I was only taking erythromycin, my stomach was hardly upset, if at all.
4251679 tn?1370305531 My poor niece just had surgery on a hernia(spelling?) on the inside of her leg 8 days ago. Yesterday my sister noticed a big bruise on her lady parts and major swelling had started to form right by the incision. The doctors aren't sure what it is or what caused it, they're thinking its cellulitis but for it to be cellulitis there has to be an abscess which hasn't formed. Prayers that these damn drs can figure out what the issue is and fix it!
Avatar f tn Went to PA at local Doc in the Box and was issued levaquin 750mg and bactrim DS for round 2 for cold and for possible cellulitis. A return trip to be made if signs/symptoms persist/worsen.
Avatar n tn I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's Cellulitis. So you know, this is the adult Diabetes II forum. Your post really belongs in the Dermatology forum since Cellulitis is a skin related disease more so than Diabetes glucose/insulin related. Is your husband hospitalized? To my understanding Cellulitis treatment may require hospitalization if it is severe enough to warrant intravenous antibiotics and close observation by doctors. Body and/or muscle aches are part of the symptoms.
Avatar m tn I have had fibromyalgia for over 10 years now, and I have had cellulitis for about 6 yrs. I must be on antibiotics as well as steroid creams, and it comes & goes. However the last bout I had lasted 9 months. My doctor did not say if this was caused by the fibromyalgia, but he did say it was caused by an infection.
Avatar n tn If you have cellulitis in your foot how long should you stay off your feet for?
Avatar f tn s friends, it seemed fine and then two days later started getting really bad, well an iv for seven days later... Turns out I got cellulitis. I popped a pimple and ended up with cellulitis really bad on my face... Which happened two more times after that.

Avatar m tn Afternoon. I have had cellulitis in my nose for over a month.... took Bactrim, Clindamycin, and another 5 days of Bactrim.. which didn't help in the first place... but... i have this swollen membrane (i guess) from the tip of my nose about 1/2 inch back... it always feels like it is going to swell up again.... with no insurance another 125.00 is not what I want to pay since it seems like none of that helped anyway... anybody have any thoughts on this one???
Avatar f tn What is it?
Avatar n tn As far as I have heard, "puppy strangles" or Juvenile Cellulitis, only occurs in puppies, and is rare in adult dogs. It is curable and a puppy can recover well with no long term ill effects. You could "google" this and there is lots of information out there about it. There's some good info on this page: http://www.bestinshowdaily.com/juvenile-cellulitis-aka-puppy-strangles-is-not-as-bad-as-it-sounds/ You could also maybe discuss this with a vet.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply. She's going back to the Dr. today, for an MRI.
Avatar f tn After finding this site and all your info I I made appt. with my ENT and got it for today! I will let you know what he thinks. It hurts! I can't believe so many are experiencing this strange thing? I was worried about skin cancer too! Althoug I was reading about sebaucaus (might not be correct spelling) which are oil glands that cause pain and swelling, glands that get clogged. But why wouldn't the dermatologist have thought of that? Will keep you all posted.
Avatar m tn t have hiv lol I tested recently, what is cellulitis? And how do I test for it? Does cellulitis cause lesions?
Avatar n tn Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with HS about two years ago. It started as a few small pimples on my thighs and then under my armpits that eventually turned into nasty, inflamed, infected boils. This went on and off for a few months. My dermatologist injected corisone directly into the boils/bumps and put me on doxycycline, then oracea for about six months total.
