I either have sinusitis or M. Pneumoniae. The doctor says he's not sure. I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma. So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?

I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.

ok dont panic here - could be sinus related, and mimic a headache, if infected will require doxycycline but gp will advise - also check when you press above eye does it hurt? have you had sinusitis before, do you get nasal problems. the migraine from the pill is not related at all!

I was taking doxycycline and developed a pressure sensation on the top of my head. I discontinued the doxycycline and a few days later the pressure sensation resolved. I was directed to continue taking the doxycycline and after I took the first pill, I began to get a severe headache and nausea. The headache became so severe I went to the ED. They performed a CT Scan which was normal and a Lumbar Puncture Opening Pressure 22. After the LP, the head pressure resolved for 3 weeks.

I had a bout of sinusitis on the left side recently. It responded quickly to doxycycline but it has left a big patch of my face numb (from my cheekbone across to the entire left half of my nose, left half of my upper lip and left upper teeth.) I have had this now since 2 Sept so that's 33 days. The muscles are fine and there is no heat or redness. I'm just wondering if other people have experienced this as long or longer. How long before I should get worried?

It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.

hi dilip this is naseer 2009 ,ur problem could be due to a chronic ear infection resulting in perforation of ur ear drum or tympanic membrane resulting in purulent ear discharge ,this could be due to chronic sinusitis or ETB ,u have got to go through a course of anti biotics,anti histaminics ,mucolytics and topical ear drops after cleaning ur ears,for aa period of 7 days and prevent water form entering ur ear, avoid blowing ur nose hard.pls tell me ur results.

Plus the mucous from the lungs is much thicker and stickier and harder to cough up. But sinusitis does aggravate asthma quite a bit, and a lot higher dosage of steroid inhaler is required to control the asthma. It is good to get your sinusitis properly dealt with.

I have a 8 year history of chronic sinusitis in my right maxillary sinus and about 10 sinus infections a year, half of them requiring antibiotics. I have never had a sinus infection this complicated. I am weak, started with sore throat and lots of mucus, and now I just have terrible facial pain that seems to be moving over the days from my right eye to the middle of my forehead.

so I was diagnosed with sinusitis on Thursday and was given Doxycycline monohydrate by my doctor. Monday morning I woke up with a low grade fever of 100.1 and a sore throat. Of course with all this virus hysteria I am fearing the worst. I have no other symptoms because nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, fluid in ears and of course the sore throat. I remember reading that Lyme and sinusitis go hand in glove according to "Lyme" rules----- Lyme can present as almost anything. a LOT of people on other forums complain about that. But just because we have Lyme doesn't mean that we can't get 'ordinary' woes. Are you blowing green gunk out your nose? An ENT I saw when I complained about a possible sinus infection asked that question. Perhaps that means something.

Urologist put me on 10 days of Doxycycline. I took the complete dosage and the day after my last dose, when I masturbated, my semen was thick, and yellow. Almost like mucus. Is this a normal side effect of the medication ? She put me on it due to urethritis and what she felt was prostatitis... Got tested and was positive for chlamydia. I got treated and was put on doxycycline. Got re-tested and I am cured of it but the symptoms never went away. For the past three years after I urinate and after sex (ejaculation) it burns really bad in the middle urethra and part of of the penis never during urination. I've been the urologist and he says he found strep in my semen and he wanted to treat me for it.

However, resistance to sulfa drugs has steadily increased and typically treatment for one includes treatment for the other.. and today Chlamydia is usually treated with doxycycline.
