Avatar f tn Putting topical finacea clears up one area, but the itchy redness creeps past the treated area and I now have ocular rosacea. I never fully recouped from having the flu like illness from kissing the guy who had uveitis/iritis ( of course he claimed he had no illness). I broke rash upon treatment with ampicillin and later doxycycline but truly think I should be on antiviral.
Avatar n tn Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline are the most common antibiotics used to treat rosacea. Some people respond quickly, while others require long-term therapy. Isotretinoin may be considered as a treatment option for all forms of severe or therapy-resistant rosacea. Sunscreens, particularly those that protect against ultraviolet A and B light waves and have a sun-protecting factor (SPF) of 13 or higher, are recommended for all people with rosacea.
493068 tn?1224765315 I have ocular rosacea and Dr. K had told me about a laser surgery to treat my gluacoma and it was to help me with the ocular rosacea in the long run. I wanted to hear what he would reccomend that I do. I do not want to take Doxycycline the rest of my life. It is for my eyes.....
Avatar f tn No, it's not possible. You didn't get ocular herpes from this urgent care visit.
493068 tn?1224765315 I have severe ocular rosacea and facial rosacea. I have been in just severe pain. I have kept a juournal for 6 months and stress form ilness ex: UTI and low humidity makes it go wild. I feel like I just can't handle this horrible pain much longer. My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn s excellent post, but I have had to take doxycycline for Rosacea and am alway uptight when it is suggested, as I very often get serious diarrhea from antibiotics. For me, then, anxiety is always high when an antibiotic is prescribed. Phobic about the medicine. I never experienced anxiety from this medication. I think I may have been on an SSRI a few times when doxicycline was recommended.... Do follow up on mammo's advice. Good luck!
493068 tn?1224765315 I have Ocular Rosacea and it gets very bad at times and have chronic styes. Can you explain why this condition is so painful? I am off and on Doxycyclines and Erythromycin ointment. Is there any other new treatment? I also have glaucoma and have Sjogrens. I have some days that I am unable to read or drive.
Avatar n tn t find thick eye mucus anywhere listed as a symptom for Ocular Rosacea. I have recently started using Latisse and it seems to be helping with the swelling of the upper eyelid, but not with the itching and mucus. Could this be Ocular Rosacea? Is Latisse used for treatment of Ocular Rosacea?

Avatar f tn So does ocular rosacea only happen to people with facial rosacea? Or can things like an infection or computer vision syndrome cause it?

Avatar m tn Ocular Rosacea is common. You may need oral antibiotics, use the search feature and archives to read about the treatment of blepharitis which is what OR causes.
Avatar n tn I have also been on antibiotics for almost two years for ocular rosacea and blepharitis. First Tetracycline, then Doxycycline and finally, for the last 10 months, minocycline which I know can in rare cases cause some type of liver toxicity. I have stopped the antibiotics and hope that clears up the problem. When or how long should I wait to start to be concerned? Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn I have ocular rosacea and suffer from dry, irritated, red eyes constantly. Since I very rarely suffer from facial outbreaks, I don't use the metronizadole cream on my face. However, I've been told that using the cream on my face will benefit the eye inflammation as well. Is this true?
Avatar f tn Thank you for your answer. I am taking antibiotics called mino 50 for ocular rosacea and fish oil and flaxseed oil supp. The reason i didn't quit my job is because i went to visit my family in Italy for three weeks my eyes became worse. I couldn't leave my house . So i thought it had nothing to do with chemicals. They have tested me for allergies , viral or bacterial problems , all negative. i am driving everybody crazy at home.

Avatar f tn I have an online friend who is a dermatologist and she had told me back when I first got the stye that sometimes they are caused by ocular rosacea. The opthalmologist that I visited said that I had ocular rosacea but gave me nothing by way of treatment unless you count the eye drops. I have made an appointment with another opthalmologist but couldn't get in until May 18. My eye doesn't bother me a lot unless I'm using it but I work in front of a computer all day.
Avatar m tn During Tx I got Rosacea, now I know that before Tx I had Seborea and during the Tx it gor worsen and I got Rosacea, the Rosacea during Tx was much more severe then it is now. Rozex doesn't help, many times I have redness on the T zone on my face, the only thing that help is a little bit Elidel. Does anyone here familiar with that, I mean - to get Rosacea during Tx, does it become better after Tx ? Is it curable? Any experience with Elidel or any other medication for Rosacea ?
Avatar f tn Can you tell me if Steroid-Induced Rosacea will every go away completely? I was prescribed a fluocinonide solution for a small patch on my face. Now that I have stopped it completely, small bumps have appeared where I was putting the topical solution. The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely. Will it ever go away?
Avatar m tn Have you tried any other treatments for rosacea other then the doxycycline? If it is rosacea, it can be hard to treat- and never really goes away- it's one of those conditions you just manage. There are other options you can try to treat- things like laser therapy. I'd encourage you to head back to the dermatologist that gave you the doxycycline- make sure they know it didn't help and work with them to explore other options. I hope you feel better soon, this sounds miserable!
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed with 'Ocular Rosacea' and 'Dry Eye Syndrome'. I have used Restasis and have tried allergy drops. My eyes are always red and feel as if I have something in them (which is the bumps under my eyelids). Does anyone know what I can do about this. I've been to so many eye Dr's. and I cannot get them cleared up. I used to wear contact lenses and now I can no longer wear them. It has been almost 5 years since I was able to wear my contacts.

1415174 tn?1453243103 Has anyone had low dose doxycycline (50mg) used for rosacea or used any antibiotic and got severe vertigo 40 minutes after taking it? I had dizzyness then vertigo and my right ear went deaf then I almost fell but my husband caught me and I got nauseated, tired and cold. It only lasted for about 20-30 seconds. I have been sore from almost falling and jerking myself and tired all day.
