I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
Can someone tell me what STDs can be treated with Doxycycline? Can you list all of them please? Thank you.
I was on doxycycline for the first urine tests which came back negative. Then I retested 5 days after being off doxycycline. Tests were still negative. I’m still having the symptoms. Had a CBC done and WBC was 5.5 in normal range. My Questions are below:
1. Are these urine tests for gonorrhea etc accurate after being off doxycycline for 5 days?
2. What else could my symptoms be from?

The day I met the guy at a bar I had gotten a prescription for doxycycline for a sinus infection, but did not take the first one until later that night as the doctor said it should be one in morning and one at night. It is a 14 day regimen of doxycycline. I read in prior posts that normally 7 days of doxycycline is not enough without an injection of another antibiotic, but I was wondering if 14 days would be enough to prevent/treat a ghonorrhea infection?
I have been a very "sickly" person the last 20 years or so. Constant bouts of pneumonia and bronchitis as well as mystery hives and infections on even the smallest paper cut. After sinus surgery I developed a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection that seems to have colonized in my sinus'. I have a great number of environmental allergies and have learned that I am allergic to Keflex and sulfa drugs/antibiotics.

I'm a distance runner and also an asthmatic and have a very high pain threshold and discomfort tolerance, but over time I noticed I was struggling more and more with various things - going up hill was a struggle and began to give me that same sensation you can get when flying.
I have seen a doctor about this twice and was on cipro for a month and doxycycline for a month (cipro in March, doxy in May), neither of which have cured the problem (my symptoms are minor now, but still present). Also, while on cipro, I developed a white coating on my tongue that really hasn't gone away since. It just seems whiter than usual and brushing doesn't wipe it out entirely (worried it could be thrush?).

then i got sick with allergies and cold symptoms so my sister took me to carenow where i got doxycycline hyclate 100mg 2x a day for 10 days to clear up my sinus infection. right after i stopped taking the doxycycline i went to the dentist for a bad cavitity on my back tooth and got amoxicillin 500mg 3x a day for 10 days. it is possible that those meds not only cleared up what they were prescribed for but the std as well?

I have had unprotected sex with a girlfriend and after three weeks i experienced a cloudy discharge from my penis and also a tingling sensation which I suspect as a chlamydial infection or NGU. I took 1g of zithromax and also took 5days of doxycycline 100mg. bid. After the medication my symptoms disappeared. After a few days however my testicles ached after i drank a large amount of liqour. I took another zithromax dosage and this time 1g on the first day and 500mg for another two days.
I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !
Had unprotected oral (only) sex exposure (giving and recvg) 2 months ago. Took 8 days of 400mg Avelox for sinus infection post exposure. Saw Urologist appx 11 days after event with urgency / frequency to urinate, fullness in abdomen, penile discomfort consistent with having to urinate badly. No dischearge and no burning when urinating. Urine sample was clear, rectal prostate exam with secretions showed bacteria in prostate. Diagnosed with prostatitis. I am not sure what (clear) meant?
Was diagnosed with syphilis 2 weeks ago and went on the 14 day, 2 pills per day of 100mg doxycycline monohydrate. I was supposed to take 100 mg( 1 pill daily) of Doxycycline for 14 days..But I took this antibiotic(1 pill daily) only for 7 days because it gave me side effects like liver pain,raised ALT and thrush in my mouth. and then I stopped taking it.

1. Did Doxycycline ( taken 1 pill daily only for 7 days instead of 14) cure my infection with chlamydia or not?
2. Will I have to take another antibiotic to be sure?
you should be on Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day right now for seven days. Azythromycin should be taken 1 gm in one go. Depending on symptoms doctor prescribe 1 gm or 1.5 gm.
i am Pharmacist not the doctor. but i have been going through Chlamydia infection too.
36 wks 5 days. What can I take for chest congestion and cold? It always turns into a sinus infection and I'm trying hard to prevent that this time. This would be my 3rd one during this pregnancy.
