I have been taking it for 4 days and I would like to stop taking it because I've had awful acid reflux/heartburn. Is it okay to just stop taking it and wait until I can schedule an appt with her.Thank you!
thankyou - I did take my medicine near bed time the night that I woke up with bad acid etc; I am a bit more relaxed now - thanks again - I will change my 'timings'. etc; - also talk to Doc.
instead, i juz told her my prob and she diagnosed me wif oesophagus reflux(side effect of doxycycline) meanin the acid in my stomach traveled up to my esophagus causing irritation and prescibe me wif anacid. i read somewhere that if i were to take doxycycline, i must not take anacid because it will lessen the effectiveness of doxycycline. so, now i'm at a lost again.. i'm not sure to follow the std pharmarist's advice or discontinue taking doxycycline and get my esophagus prob cured..
I was given doxycycline to treat a head cold after 4 days of treatment i was starting to have some side effects eg. acid reflux, loss of appetite, nausea, and a few more. Stopped taken the doxycycline and started to have chest pain went to a+e ecg performed, results normal i was sent home saying it was muscular pain. The pain has'nt fully subsided and currently being treated for acid reflux Have any body else had this problem with this drug?
She dried herself with a towel and lied on the bed and I started *** ******* her again and after few minutes I ejaculated on her chest. She gave me a tissue paper, I wiped my penis and later clean it with water. I did not have any other form of sexual contact. Few days after the exposure, I got symptoms like frequent urination, sharp pain on the lower left abdomen and general itching all over the body. I took doxycycline for 3 weeks.
I had been having acid reflux before I started taking the doxycycline, and it seems to be worse now. Yesterday, I rolled over on my stomach while in bed and my esophagus was burned by acid. I took over-the-counter Prilosec, and today I woke up with stomach pain, around the same time I got acid reflux the previous night. I've also had small, itchy bumps on my left elbow.
Now he added reglan before breakfast and dinner. Been on Prilosec for approx 1 month and Reglan for 5 days. No reflief and my appt with a gastro isn't for 2 weeks. I am looking for advice on what I can do for relief? Try another PPI? My main symptoms now seem to be reflux for most of the day. Mornings are usually worse, but still can feel the acid in my throat at night as well. Sometimes eating does help my symptoms. Thanks!
I have just recently been treated for a bowel infection and thought that was the end of my health troubles but chest pains and difficulty breathing persisted. My doctors seemed stumped and told me if the pain got worse to go to the ER. I did yesterday morning and after being hooked up to a monitor for a few hours, a chest x-ray and an EKG the ER doc told me my heart is fine and that my chest pain is "probably" acid reflux and the breathing trouble is reflux induced asthma.
Is is possible if your taking either Doxycycline or A birth control acid reflux can happen more frequently? It seems that i get it more often and it started after taking the pills?
(I take a mult-vitamin and the pill Doxycycline twice daily.) I've never experienced this pain before and I've been using that medication for months and have taken vitamins for years. What else could this be and what can I do to alleviate the pain?
Based on your history of gastrointestinal problems, I would not recommend doxycycline. Doxycycline works well but can cause sun sensitivity and can cause esophageal reflux (~ heart burn or indigestion). Now, we are down to two choices. First, malarone (atovaquone + proguanil). Malarone is taken daily, begun one day prior to arriving in a malarious area, taken every day while exposed to malaria, and then for one week after you leave the malarious region.
I have constant grinding, popping, and cracking sounds in my joints all over my body, especially in my neck, very badly in my shoulders, my back, jaw, elbows, wrists, knees and hips. It does not usually hurt but my muscles and joints hurt and seem to be tense, weak and stiff. Can anxiety cause all of these CONSTANT symptoms? This problem is effecting my life and my relationships and I just want to feel normal and like my old self again.
His GI tract has been completed affected and he now has severe reflux and dysmotility issues. He always has a headache and the pain is still there in lower right area. They did find enlarged lymph nodes initially on catscan but they have shrunk. Off to another infectious disease doctor. Did the Zithromax thing-no help. On Doxycycline for 3 weeks with fingers crossed??
That was by an ENT who had taken a CT scan only on the left side and for that purpose only and although nothing showed that indicated muscle problems but did show a swallen lymphnode it was his opinion that I had acid reflux and suggested I by over the counter acid reflux meds and I would be fine I assured him he would not be seeing me again!! I know what acid reflux is and although it can cause simular symptoms and can be very dangerous I knew damn well that was not the problem.
It can also be due to severe acidity with H pylori infection and gastric reflux, hypoglycemia, carcinoid syndromes, hyperthyroidism, and sleep disorders. At times cause cannot be found out. Do discuss this with your doctor (GP/PCP) and get this invesigated. Take care!
My mouth was extremely dry and irritated and white tongue and white near my tonsils. on 12/10/13 i returned to the ER and he prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate MG and Clotrinazole Troche 10 MG. my head ache, fatigue is gone. Now i have painful tiny clear blisters near my tonsils. I also have white on the back sides of my mouth and white tongue. The medication is gradually helping but not as fast as i wish. i feel something is stuck on my throat. Can you tell me what is occurring?
Only thing I changed was I doubled up on doxycycline on deployment and pulled my groin muscles around the same time. I've also had a real itchy prostate which seems to be related to a hemroid...still researching myself as doctors are useless And throw medicine like parts at a broken car...
My doctor suspected Lyme disease when I mentioned I had noticed a few red bumps on my neck upon waking a month or so earlier, and prescribed me a 3 week course of Doxycycline but symptoms did not improve. I found that I had no temperature even though I was certain I must have a fever (hot flash feelings) and it was often subnormal (sometimes as low as 96.9) The highest I ever had was 99F. The weakness has since progressed to twitching all over my body and tenderness in muscles.
well I was only diagnosed a few months ago but I also have begining stages of barrets hihertle hernia severe acid reflux and had l-4 and l-5 shaved off becuase of pressure on the syatic nerve which now the scare tissue has attacched the same nerve with more dynamic results than before the back surgery any way I am only 43 yrs old and I'm falling apartI went off all nacotics and have been tylenoling it and extra sleepy time tea which seems to help some what to sleep.
I had unprotected sex for about 3 minutes. They prescribed doxycycline a week later and I immediately started having headaches and muscle aches. when i lie down to go to sleep the medicine causes acid reflux which makes my throat hurt. I have no fever or rash, but skin does hurt. Do you think its ars symptoms a week after exposure? Or just the medicine reacting?
Last winter was the worst! It felt as if my legs were having 'seizures' with rapid firing here and there and here again.....very painful! My question now is, "Does anyone believe that the 'choking/strangulation' feeling I have been having for 2.5 years has anything to do with the FM? I'm always pulling at my shirt around my neck, but that isn't the problem. The choking feeling can get so bad that I have coughing fits.
They do recommend not to lay down for at least an hour after taking the antibiotic, but I had looked this up online and learned that it was because of the potential acid reflux that Doxycycline is known to cause. I just don't think acid reflux would cause pink (a little frothy, too, I guess) mucus. Upon looking up "pink mucus" online, I learned that acid reflux doesn't cause this, but infections do, among things. Ugh. One more thing to decipher!
After I was bitten by a tick in the fall of 2008, I was put on a 2 week cycle of Doxycycline, but that didn't seem to do anything for me (and I haven't been bitten by a tick since then, at least not that I'm aware of). I'm going to look into the magnesium test and request that I have one done when I see my GP next...hopefully, they'll willingly oblige! I might also ask my cardiologists about hsCRP; I didn't even know that test existed--thanks!
two sigmoidoscopies have been negative since taking humatin and doxycycline. But I'm still habing diarrhea, nausea, extreme gas, and acid reflux. Before getting the correct diagnosis, I had over twenty false negatives on stool tests and samples taken from a colonoscopy. Does anyone know what the odds of false negatives on a sigmoidoscopy are? Has anyone else had amebiasis (amebic dysentery) for this long? Are the after-effects (if I'm cured) long-lasting or permanent?
He went to see a different doctor. That morning his lips were dry and cracked. This one said that the stomach pain was acid reflux. And ordered a blood test for herpes. It came back positive for hsv2. I don't no a lot but i have been reading up on herpes and we both have an appointment with the doctor on Monday. If the results are correct, this would have been his first outbreak. Should there have been soreness, itching, blisters, sores, or some other symptom?
I have been on doxycycline for about a year for acne related issues. Last week, I woke up with some chest pain. I've experienced this type of pain before when I initially went on the doxycycline and stopped using it per my physician. About a week later, the pain went away. So, I did the same thing this time and my doctor prescribed Nexium for the pain. I've been on the pill for about 4 days and have not used the doxycycline since last Sunday.
I had std now test clean, I had horrible reaction to antibiotics rocephyn and doxycycline. Mouth felt horrible for months with tounge pain. My doc says all organs functioning properly. I have acid reflux. The top of my mouth was making paste then kinda a foam like mucous now it feels jelly like it makes Me feel unhealthy I don't know what's going on is it cause I'm missing 50 kazillion good bacteria idk. Also have tinnitus and a little ear pain.
(waiting for tests to come back on that) I also experienced this last week with a very tender to the touch lower abdomen. I went to the ER and they did a catscan on me and it came back negative for any serious stomach problems. What now? Has anyone else had similar symptoms?
I wasn't sure where to post this question as its about drug interactions really. I've been taking anitbiotics, Amoxicillin and Doxycycline (Not both at the same time) to treat recurrent sinusitis but they haven't got on top of the infection. Last Autumn/Fall I had five courses of antibiotics and knew that I still hadn't got rid of the infection. The infection came back last week and I had another course of Amoxicillin.
