Avatar m tn Well, I caught something on February 22nd of this year after receiving oral sex. I'm male by the way. I have tested TWICE for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and came clean and one test for NGU which I came clean. I was first given Zithromax 1.5g over three days which helped the discomfort in my urethra. In addition to the irritable urethra, there was a strong burning sensation on the surface of the glans and part of my foreskin.
Avatar f tn I have had bleeding gums and gum disease for years. Im 28yrs old now. Each time i go to the dentist they tell me about best ways to clean and floss. I try my best but still never seems to go away. I have brought a very good new oral b electric toothbrush to ensure I clean to the best of my ability. I also floss. I have tried natural mouthwashes and toothpastes containing herbs like myrrh etc which are known to help keep gums healthy.
Avatar f tn hi, i have got really sore gums and it is painful to brush and eat. i have been to the dentist is there anything else i could do?
Avatar f tn Took my mother to the dentist finally since she had refused to go for several years and since shes been having problems with loose tooth and was a problem that needed to be addressed prior to spinal surgery. Dentist diagnosed her with severe gum disease that was causing bone loss and said most of the tooth has to be extracted eventually or they'll fall out. Cause may be cause of smoking (which she quit) or braces that she had at a late age.
Avatar n tn I have been told that I have gum disease and have been refered by my dentist. I also have suffered with chrones disease for the last 23years and was wondering if this could be a factor to gum disease. My teeth are in good condition and I only have 3 fillings. I am 39 years of age. Please could you advise.
7649778 tn?1401294601 My gums got really swollen and sensitive during my last pregnanct. its normal to have gum and teeth problems during pregnancy but still see your dentist. My dentist says some woman have even had teeth fall out during pregnancy. So I would suggest having normal dental check ups during pregnancy.

Avatar m tn had sex with same person 17 months back, but this time i had urethritis and gum bleeding, again had tetracyclines, but with an initial improvement, it took a protracted and non remitting course with persistent urethritis. it went on with new symptoms like testicular pain, pain during ejaculation, burning during urination, dry cough sometimes. tests showed hiv negetive, pyuria (16 puscells pe rhpf, ),culture negetive, normal blood count.
Avatar m tn He prescribed 2g azithromycin to be taken all at once. He suggested I go to a GUM clinic (Im in UK), and I did before I took the azithromycin. There they performed urine and throat NAAT tests (for GC+CT),&urethral swab. Urethral swab returned -ve for gonorrhea, but showed white blood cells. Was given 2 weeks, 100mg twice daily,Doxycycline presumptively for Chlamydia, but to clear the apparent NSU. 1)From the 2 incidents described above, what STDs am I likely to be at risk of?HIV/Syhilis?
Avatar f tn I have horrible acne and was prescribed doxycycline. I take orthrotricyclen, does anyone know if they interfere?
Avatar f tn Does it occur when you're breathing? Are you short of breath?
Avatar m tn m male and I was the receiver. After the event, I learned that she has gum disease and it bleeds frequently. I don't know whether it was bleeding or not during the event. What is the risk of HIV transmission? Thanks.
Avatar m tn Its possible that previous history of gum disease could have caused the recession and now the gum disease is no longer present but a dental cleaning is almost always advised on a routine basis to maintain healthy gums. A dental cleaning should remove any irritants and allow the gums to heal. If they're healthy already, there should be no problem.
Avatar m tn I also had blood tests (for HSV, HIV and syphilis), these also came back negative. I have taken a two week course of doxycycline and a week of metronidazole (not at the same time). My symptoms neither improved, nor subsided with these antibiotics. I am very anxious about both what is causing this symptoms and if I will be able to get rid of them. Not having a diagnosis is also very frustrating, as I don't know what can be done to move forward.
Avatar n tn I was just diagnosed with lyme disease and will be taking Doxycycline for 30 days. Can anyone tell me if I must avoid dairy entirely or just avoid it a couple of hours before and after taking this antibiotics? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Please advise how long term use (5 years) of anti-depressants and anti-psychotic meds like venlafaxine, olonzapine, zoloft, and prozac, even high stress, can create gum disease and jaw bone degeneration. Thanks. boxcar.
Avatar n tn Doxycycline 100 mgm by mouth twice/day for 6 weeks and then once/day for 3-6 months is a common treatment of blepharitis and meibomian gland disease. It is not so much antibacterial as antiinflammatory and gets into the oild gland. That's the reason its also used for acne. There is a new product that is specific for blepharitis but I don't have the details or brand name. None of these cause floaters.
Avatar m tn Hello, Difficulty urinating in males can be due to urinary retention which can be due to enlarged prostate due to benign prostatic hypertrophy (often called BPH) or infection of the prostate( prostatitis), any blockage in the flow of urine like any scar tissue, injury (as in a car wreck or bad fall), blood clots, infection, tumors in the pelvic region, and stones, infection or due to disruption of the delicate and complex system of nerves that connects the urinary tract with the brain and the ne
Avatar m tn Hello, I have had an ulcer on my wisdom tooth gum that has grown over the tooth and is causing me extreme discomfort. My dentist prescribed my Doxycycline 100mg and Percocet 5/325 to combat the pain. It has been over a week now and the problem has not been alleviated. I feel awkward asking my doctor for a slightly stronger pain medication considering the taboo surrounding a question such as that. I don't feel awkward asking for additional antibiotics.

Avatar n tn I was wondering....when do people usually feel better after starting doxycycline? I have been on it for a week now and haven't noticed a big difference.
Avatar m tn just to add some more information I am being treated right now for the periodontal disease and the time of the incident I did not have any visible bleeding of the gums but I do have deep pockets (gaps in the gums) and deep gum recession for one of my tooth in the lower jaw. What are my risk of HIV after this incident?
Avatar m tn Having said that, perhaps a private GUM consultation would come up with an idea that I and the GUM clinic, and your GP, have missed -- if you are suitably insured or can afford the cost. Sorry I can't help further. Good luck.
Avatar f tn well return to the doctor and if you can't stop having sex consider a condom.... but there is still a risk of breaking the condom. If you have a primary doctor that is your best best they do full work ups and you're not rushed in and out. Gum Clinics are mostly free and have a lot of ppl to see so they are harder to work with but should still do a full work up. Again you should get a primary doctor, if you have insurance then this shouldn't be a problem/.
Avatar f tn Later after alot, I mean ALOT of research I kinda figured I had pelvic inflammatory disease and I told me doc. about this he did a pelvic exam and he sent me home with two different kind of antibiotics (flagyl and levaquin) The meds were pretty much unbearable and I did some more reasearch and I found out that people who took levaquin were having the same kind of reactions as me, so....I stopped taking them.
