I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?

Doxycycline effectively treats and cures most bacterial STDs, including chlamydia, syphilis, and most cases of gonorrhea (depending in part on the dose). Accordingly, it will make gonorrhea and chlamydia tests negative, and may result in lower strength in RPR and VDRL, commonly used to diagnose syphilis. But this isn't really the same as "interference": that is, the tests themselves work just fine after or during doxycycline treatment.
In theory, I might then have infected my partner during my doxy cure (7x200mg) as we resumed sex between my 6th and 7th day of treatment and subsequently been reinfected by her. I was treated with ceftriaxone and Doxycycline but my wife was only treated with 100mg of Doxycycline twice a day for 7 days. She was not diagnosed. Is it possible that Doxycycline will cure Gonorrhea on its own. She felt some burning in her urethra but only after treatment. Her Dr. thought it may be just a yeast infection from strong antibiotics. What are the chances her complete uranylisis will show that she is negative for Gonorrhea?
I took a UTI test Via urine, 2 days into doxycycline and it was negativ. The rest of my urine was sent off for cultures for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other bacteria. Now I'm stuck playing the waiting game. Any insight that can at least help me relax?
Both would have been treated with a high degree of reliability with the therapy you received as the cefixime (Suprax) is the recommended therapy for gonorrhea and doxycycline is recommended therapy for NGU. Both are so effective that it is not necessary to have a follow-up, "test-of-cure" test. The symptoms typically begin to improve very soon after starting therapy (24 hours) but may not completely resolve for 5-7 days in some cases.
My doctor did a culture of my throat and penis to determine if I have chlamydia or gonorrhea. But he decided to go ahead and treat me for the above STDs. I was given a shot of an antibiotic yesterday and put on a regiment of doxycycline. How long will it before I start to feel better. I have had relief with the feeling of swollen testicles but my throat doesnt seem to be any better at all. I'm concerned for some reason that this isnt going to respond to treatment.
0 grams (4 500 mg pills) taken at one time is just as effective as penicillin for syphilis treatment however, there are some cases of treatment failures with azithromycin for syphilis treatment and many of the treatment failures have come from San Francisco where you apparently live. Thus this is a matter of concern.
While many people will be cured by therapy of early syphilis with azithromycin, the dose you have received is not the recommended dose.
When they occur, gonorrhea and chlamydia are no most common infections that occur. The doxycycline you are taking is recommended therapy for gonorrhea and I suspect the shot you got was ceftriaxone, the recommended therapy for gonorrhea. Both are highly active and if you did get an STI, these would cure the infections.
STIs do not cause urinary dribbling and to have testicular discomfort without an obvious discharge is most unusual.

If you had been exposed, doxycycline would definitely prevent or abort chlamydia and syphilis, but not necessarily gonorrhea. When you started the doxy makes no significant difference.
Now that you have started, I would advise taking the doxy for a full week (100 mg twice daily for 7 days). Then move on without worry.
Suspecting it as gonorrhea (thru reading the net), I self medicated with doxycycline 100mg taken twice for 7 days. The discharge was gone after 4 days (continued the medication till the 7th day). I never had sex with anybody during these period. Aug. 31, 2012 I had protected sex with my girlfriend and after 6 days, discharge from my organ showed up again. So I finally decided to go to a doctor to have it checked.
then next day I went to different doctor and told him white discharge, the doctor told it might be gonorrhea (as not tested the blood) and injected gonorrhea penicillin (I didnt ask the name of injection as he told usually this injection for gonorrhea treatment), and the doctor asked to continue the same medicine of doxycycline pills and pot citra 6 days (as I started the medicine yesterday), the doctor advised after 6 day the gonorreah will be cured and advised me to take blood test after 3 m
