I had sex with my girlfriend within the time frame of me receiving oral and feeling the onset of symptoms I then went into a walk-in clinic where the physician diagnosed me with doxycycline for 7 days. I felt as if they were working and by the end of the 7 days felt normal. About 5 days later I felt the pain in my restocked, groin, lower abdomen and lower back return.
When they occur, gonorrhea and chlamydia are no most common infections that occur. The doxycycline you are taking is recommended therapy for gonorrhea and I suspect the shot you got was ceftriaxone, the recommended therapy for gonorrhea. I read that it is suppose to cure gonorrhea but also Cipro could do that.

Her Dr. thought it may be just a yeast infection from strong antibiotics. What are the chances her complete uranylisis will show that she is negative for Gonorrhea?
So, I really guess i am infected from the oral sex just not sure what virus caused that. Could gonorrhea, chlamydia and HSV2 cause pharyngitis? If yes, can doxycycline work for that?
She ran a NAAT urine test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and throat culture. All came back negative. My doctor prescribed me 1g of z-pack to take in a single dose if the tests came back positive.
On 1/4 my symptoms got worse. My tonsils began to get the white spots/streaks again, and my throat pain greatly increased. I am also feeling much more run down. I messaged my doctor and she told me to finish the Doxy and wait it out. I finished the Doxy today, and am getting worse.
Doxycycline effectively treats and cures most bacterial STDs, including chlamydia, syphilis, and most cases of gonorrhea (depending in part on the dose). Accordingly, it will make gonorrhea and chlamydia tests negative, and may result in lower strength in RPR and VDRL, commonly used to diagnose syphilis. But this isn't really the same as "interference": that is, the tests themselves work just fine after or during doxycycline treatment.
see your doctor. and realize that you canNOT treat all STDs and that MDs do NOT have good tests for all STDs. some STDS we just call em when we see them. so they can say "i don't think you have herpes" but then you could have it. unless they do a blood test
and for men, then don't have a test for HPV...
I took a UTI test Via urine, 2 days into doxycycline and it was negativ. The rest of my urine was sent off for cultures for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and other bacteria. Now I'm stuck playing the waiting game. Any insight that can at least help me relax?
My question for you is could I have contracted an STD like gonorrhea from that limited oral sex encounter and passed it to my partner while I was asymptomatic and on antibiotics... If so could she have been asymptomatic all this time and passed it to me? If not then could this be something she contracted without me?

If you had been exposed, doxycycline would definitely prevent or abort chlamydia and syphilis, but not necessarily gonorrhea. When you started the doxy makes no significant difference.
Now that you have started, I would advise taking the doxy for a full week (100 mg twice daily for 7 days). Then move on without worry.

Ive been on doxycycline for 3 1/2 days, and the discharge has not gone away at all.. may have even worsened. My vagina hurts excruciatingly every time I pee. How long till the pain and discharge goes away?
He said it was unlikely and put me on doxycycline to clear whatever it is up, thank you for the reassurance, will go get checked at clinic for peace of mind
I initially received a shot and pills for suspected gonorrhea, the results came back and all tests were negative except for a UTI. I was given initially ,zithromax, doxycycline and flagyl , took all those. Still with a discharge and given a second dose of zithromax. I still have a little discharge thats more prominent in the mornings. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
0 grams (4 500 mg pills) taken at one time is just as effective as penicillin for syphilis treatment however, there are some cases of treatment failures with azithromycin for syphilis treatment and many of the treatment failures have come from San Francisco where you apparently live. Thus this is a matter of concern.
While many people will be cured by therapy of early syphilis with azithromycin, the dose you have received is not the recommended dose.
On 9th of March 2018, felt burning urination and pain after urination also, went to the doctor as I thought normal infection, he prescribed doxycycline pills and pot citra tonic antibiotic for 1 week and the doctor asked any discharge, i said no as I havent noticed, then that day night i checked my penis, it was white discharge.

Meanwhile, that day, he gave me 4 pills of cefuroxime axetil 500mg to take as a single dose and gave me another week of doxycycline. I am on the third day of the second cycle of doxycycline and I still have the minimal squeeze out discharge. Is this something that will go away eventually or does it sound like something else? Maybe drug resistant gonorrhea? Any recommendations for another medication?
