I was just going to ask everyone that would to pray for me and the baby, my husband has just been diagnosed with swine flu!!!! I just got out of the hospital last week after getting a virus and being dehydrated, and not even two days later my hubby started coughing and running a fever, the minute the fever started I got a bag and packed my stuff and went to my moms till he got to a doc. My doctor started me on tamiflu when he got his results back just to be safe so I dont get it!!!!

Supposedly a temp of 38 or above is a hallmark sign of swine flu. My mum had everything else but the temp and was given tamiflu. For three days she slept in bed, looked really poorly and had sips of drinks. By the third day she began to improve. At the moment she's poorly in bed again with a throat and chest infection. I think everybody should be checked for swine flu. My neuro put me on amantadine for fatigue, this was one of the first anti virals that came out for flu.

She also said yesterday in her surgery alone they had 40 phone calls about people saying they had swine flu, she ONLY gave out 3 lots of Tamiflu. So out of 40 people - 37 probably just had a cold or similar. HOWEVER, she couldnt confirm that the 3 had swine flu but they were vulnerable so better to be safe then sorry.

i was about 7 weeks pregnant and went to the ER,they said they werent sure if i had the swine flu or flu but not sure so they treated me for the swine flu anyways because i was pregnant,they gave me tamiflu....i wanted to know if there was any risks to the baby from having the flu or from the tamiflu?

hi... i have recently been diagnosed with swine flu and am on tamiflu (with two days of the course left to go) I have also got some kind of chest infection on top on this and my doctor has given me prednisolone steroid tablets and an inhaler. the chest infection is not getting any better (cant get in touch with my doctor till monday now) what is worrying me today is that my breathing is still bad..and any slight movements walking leads to coughing and lack of breath....today though..

Are you running a fever right now? I would call and talk to the doctor about it and tell them that you are worried and what do they think you should do? I would try to stay calm. Worry can cause more problems than the initial situation. I still feel there has been too much drama associated with the swine flu. I don't the media has been very truthful on a lot of it.

I am so sorry to hear that you have the swine flu. I have the regular flu, but they were concerned because of my shortness of breath. that has subsided for the most part. I feel miserable, and I can not imagine how you must feel. I hope you get better soon. and just an update on myself. Tamiflu as I understand it was used for the Swine Flu. So it is not likely to work if you have a different strain of the influenza virus. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

she said that there WAS something going round, but no, it wasnt swine flu. so, now i know i javent got swine flu. the simptons i have are lack of breath, wheezing, and coughing. they usually keep me up at night. i get up in the darkness, and reach for my puffer, and puff myself a couple of puffs, and i breath in and out slowly. my mum usually comes in to give me some cough medicence, and paracetomal.

i went to the er when 7 weeks preg. and they said since im preg and think its the flu or swine flu,they treated me for the swine and being pregnant does make it worse...i was so sick and didnt want to go anywhere for about 2 weeks,and if they perscribed you tamiflu...that made me start throwing up....i hope all is well and you get feelin better sooner.

I received my swine flu vaccine yesterday and I'm glad tha I did.

D! Our area has only the swine flu running through it right now which is nerve racking. I'm thinking my husband is showing some of the symptoms but the fever isn't above 100.9 so I'm not too sure. I never heard of high dose and regular dose flu vaccine! Truth, getting the actual flu is rare. It sure stinks when you get it but most people have it one or two times in a LIFETIME. And NOW we have tamiflu. I'm sure if there are two options, I've only gotten the regular flu vaccine. I'm in my 50's. Two years ago, my son was very sick with a 105 temp. I took care of him and we went to the doctor in the morning.

I know you are all probably tired of hearing about swine flu but where I live in Texas it is running rampant I have always been a worrier and always think the worst of everything. I have had a pretty rough first pregnancy. They found a subchorionic hematoma that was huge and I bled until I was 6 months pregnant. I thought I had swine flu this weekend after coming in contact with someone who had it. My test results aren't back yet but I am almost positive it wasn't the flu.

So the CDC came out yesterday with their recommendation that Pregnant women be the first group to get vaccinated because 13% of the people that have died of swine flu in the US have been pregnant women (much higher than in the overall population). Would herpes cause strong flu symptoms without the sores? my doc recons i should take tamiflu as it sounds like swine/seasonal flu. hope it is! am of course goin for a sexual health screen but have been recommended to wait 2 weeks as things wont show before this.. so in the meantime.. i'm gettin a little worried. :( any advice would be very helpful. also.. any other stds cause these kinda reactions? I was just wondering if anyone has actually spoke to someone or actually seen anyone, either in person or interviewed, with the swine flu diagnosis. I mean with the actual dianosis by a Doctor and the CDC. I was just curious since I have a few friends that went to Mexico about 10 days ago for a wedding and noone has any symptoms or has been sick from the flu and there was 60 people that went to the wedding. I have not seen anybody come out on tv or by satellite that has the flu.

s were not sure which type of flu he had since it has been documented in our area. Because of my pregnancy, he was isolated at his mothers house for a week and I was immediately put on Tamiflu since I was already exposed. I was told I needed to wait til a few days after I was done taking it to get my shot because of the unknown effect of the Tamiflu on the vaccines effectiveness, but after coming that close to getting sick, I am definitely getting the shot.

The media is getting everyone upset about a strain of flu that is no more deadly than any other strain of flu (which isn't particularly deadly anyway). Tens of thousands of people come down with the flu each year, most of whom never report it because their illness is mild. There is nothing to be upset about. To everyone: Beware the Rapid Flu Test results - they are often unreliable with frequent false negatives.

You have no other symptoms that would indicate swine flu. Remember that H1N1 flu is much like the seasonal flu, and is only worse in people who have a compromised immune systems.
