Dose of lovenox for dvt

Common Questions and Answers about Dose of lovenox for dvt

lovenox

Avatar n tn Is it common to have a PE with no evidence of a DVT? Am I realisticly looking at Lovenox for the rest of my life? I am a 32 year old male with no prior history and according to the doctors in good health. A few women on my mother's side have had DVT's around childbirth, but to my knowledge, noone has shown any genetic predisposition that can be identified.
Avatar m tn Need advice...my husband has had a dvt in his leg below knee for three months. Last week he hit his shin at work and now leg is really swollen and purple especially on the heel. he has been on coumadin since initial diagnosis and also his doctor put him on lovenox shots for ten days. The lovenox was also given short term when he was diagnosed. There was another ultrasound done when he injured his leg and now they are not sure if he developed another clot or if this is the same clot.
Avatar n tn that is something for a doc to discuss w/ you certainly. However, I had a very large DVT that stretched from my groin to my knee in my last pregnancy (he's 6.5 now) and am pregnant again. You won't likely be on Coumadin during pregnancy (I'm guessing) but they'll switch you to Heparin or Lovenox (I'm on Lovenox).
178698 tn?1228774338 hey girl :) Im doin Heparin the same way, and I get the same results...but I get TONS of bruising as well...looks like someone took a ball bal to my beely...
Avatar f tn Okay so I am 37+4 and I have been on Heparin for a little over a week now and was on lovenox since I found out I was pregnant due to a DVT I had back in June of 2012 after gallbladder surgery. My question is can I request to be induced? Its been stressful and I'm worried about going into labor naturally and not being able to have an epidural or having complications due to having to be on this medication. Does anyone think I would be able to be induced because of this risk factor?
Avatar n tn Both Lovenox and Heparin are used to reduce the risks of a blood clot formation. I had a DVT(deep vein thrombosis) and PE (pulmonary embolism) about three years ago and Dr is concerned I can form another.
Avatar f tn What blood thinner does he want to put you on, and how high of a dose? I have a history of DVT and pulmonary embolism, myself. I am having a colonoscopy tomorrow, which shouldn't involve any cutting, yet I was instructed to stop my blood thinner on Friday. I take Arixtra shots every day, so maybe that's the difference, though.
Avatar n tn Factor V Leiden is associated with an increased risk of developing an episode of DVT (with or without a PE). Approximately 1 in every 1000 people will develop a DVT or PE each year, and this increases from about 1 in 10 000 for those in their twenties to about 5 in 1000 for those in their seventies. Heterozygous factor V Leiden increases the risk of developing a first DVT by 5- to 7-fold (or 5 to 7 in 1000 people each year).
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant blood disorder. I have a leg full of clots that won't break up and go away. They have been treated for 3 years with warfarin, lovenox and cumadin. All to no avail. My gp doctor doesn't seem to have the knack to getting the INR levels stable. I've been at levels of 6 and 6.5 many times leading to ER transfusions. Last week it was 1.1 I'm worried because the symptoms are so much worse lately.
Avatar f tn I had a severe DVT and took warfarin for six months. I was taken off it per my former MD and then had a near-fatal PE from another clot! I was taking aspirin when I had the PE. If you read the literature, even therapeutic levels of warfarin won't guarantee preventing subsequent clots. If I were you, I'd get the second opinion but STAY ON WARFARIN FOR LIFE and make the necessary adjustments. I also have no known genetic predispositions to DVT.
374593 tn?1257879950 Many women with one or both forms of throbophilia are on baby aspirin and Fogard for life AND Lovenox injections thoughout pg.
Avatar f tn I read online about the risks and precautions of flying with DVT in the legs. Does anybody know about the risks of flying with a DVT on the head? any advise, experiences or comments? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am pregnant. Well 9 weeks to be exact. I am on lovenox because of blood clot. How about you? and how do you feel?
507875 tn?1423160261 I am being sent to a high risk doc because I have a fibroid that is my doc said my keep me from delivering vaginally, but I am going to remain prayerful that all will be okay when that time comes around!!! ALso, I have to start Lovenox injections again because I have DVT (blood clot) in my right leg...it is laying dormant now and doesn't bother me but he wants to cross every "t" and dot every "I" to make sure things will continue to go smoothly!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!
330481 tn?1309488243 I apparently need prescription folic acid (for the rest of my life - whether TTC or not) and baby aspirin (for the rest of my life) because the homozygous causes clotting in small vessels in the body (AKA - UTERUS - UGH!). but the weird part is that I had my daughter at 19 (not with my NOW hubby) and had no problems with her except pre-eclampsia (which also can be caused form the mutated genes...great :( So, DH and I pretty much decided we would do the lovenox if we are confirmed preggo.
Avatar m tn With my last son I took lovenox for blood clots that I had with my first son (m/c in between) and then I was switched to heparin in the last 10 weeks. I am not sure if they are going to have to take it this pregnancy but it didn't hurt to take it. Better to be safe!
338416 tn?1420045702 I ended up losing weight when I was on Coumadin/blood thinners for a year for the DVT I had. I think the Coumadin can suppress your appetite. I was also cold for the very first time in my life. I was always warm blooded, but definitely not on the Coumadin. The longer that your on the Coumadin, you might notice some minor hair loss. I did have this, but fortunately I have very thick hair to begin with. Did they give you instructions on the Coumadin diet?
Avatar f tn Hi Jane, Wow. I really appreciate everything you have shared here. You have been through a lot. The information you shared is very helpful! Thank you for taking your time to pass this along to me. I'm 3 1/2 years post diagnosis/surgery. I was at 3C. The tumor was so large that the surgeon never saw the uterus, because it was completely encased. I've been able to teach full-time and be on and off chemo without missing any work, other than to get to appointments.
Avatar f tn I also asked him if I can just up the dose of Lovenox instead of taking aspirin. He said the mechanisms of both medicine are different. One does not replace the other. So he prefers me keep taking it if my stomach can take it. I wonder what he will suggest next appointment. The baby aspirin I am taking is coated 81mg. I rarely had stomach problems before this pregnancy. And I always took the aspirin with a meal. I don't know why my stomach is so sensitive to aspirin.
Avatar f tn I actually did have two more clots that showed up after I was on warfarin for the first dvt in my leg. when I got out of the hospital, I first had pain/swelling in my arm, ultrasound confirmed a superficial clot there which was caused by 3 attempts to place a new iv in my arm while I was in the icu in dka. The clot oddly didn't show up until I did some exercise. Then a week later I had pain in the other leg, swelling and swelling in the ankle.
Avatar f tn I wasn on lovenox injections for the first few months of my pregnancy and every thing seems to be good with baby.
Avatar f tn When I found out I was pregnant my Hematologist put me on these injections. I was on them before for 7 months trying to figure out the best course of treatment. Now I have no choice. If I don't take them I could clot and kill the baby and myself. I'm worried about hemorrhaging during my csection. Any advice on good spot to inject, as well as coping with this would be greatly appreciated. I'm feeling defeated. These shots hurt sooo bad. It's all worth it. I know. But uncle!!!!
Avatar f tn Also after my delivery I had problem of DVT. What is the cause of DVT? Is it related to MS? I was admitted in the hospital for 15 days.
Avatar f tn So I'm going on a daily dose of Lovenox, and I have to have hydroxyprogesterone weekly. I'm getting nervous not so much for me but my fiancé. He takes great care of me and idk if it's hormones but now with baby #2 being a girl it's a risk I may genetically passed or will pass my high blot clot risk to her. What if she has miscarriage problems or risks having going into labor early. I worry about my son too- I just found this information out today.
