I am on my third round of anti-biotics for a sinus infection and cannot get any relief. The first round was 14 days (cannot remember name) along with a one week supply of Prednisone. The infection seemed to get better, but came back very strong 3 days after my meds were finished. My head hurt so badly that I was crying and had to use an ice pack to help ease the pain. My doctor gave me Levaquin (10 days), another 7 day supply of Prednisone, and Lortab 10mg.
Had unprotected oral (only) sex exposure (giving and recvg) 2 months ago. Took 8 days of 400mg Avelox for sinus infection post exposure. Saw Urologist appx 11 days after event with urgency / frequency to urinate, fullness in abdomen, penile discomfort consistent with having to urinate badly. No dischearge and no burning when urinating. Urine sample was clear, rectal prostate exam with secretions showed bacteria in prostate. Diagnosed with prostatitis. I am not sure what (clear) meant?
Levaquin made me very ill. I have lupus & was given Levaquin for a sinus infection. Big no no. Levaquin can & will give you autoimmune disease symptoms and I already had one. Trust me it is not worth it. After 6 pills my calf muscles began to cramp. Dr. says ibuprofen 600mg a day.. Well its been all downhill from there. I developed full body tendinitis,(couldn't walk) my joints & muscles swelled so bad my nerves were compressed.
I was on Levaquin for 10 days for a sinus infection. Have severe joint pain in both knees and shoulders. Hurts to walk, and cannot move my arms above my head. Stopped taking Levaquin on Monday and is now Wednesay and pain is still unbelievable. Does anyone know how long the pain will last and is there any way to get the pain to go away sooner? I am a 37 mother with no prior history of sinus infection. I had what I thought was an evil flu or Lyme disease--body aches with an other-worldly headache that caused pain in my jaw. No fever or stuffy nose, but mucus dripping down the back of my throat. Whenever I bent over and my head was upside down I saw stars--my first clue that I had a sinus infection of some kind.
Unfortunately I had to start a course of Levaquin for a sinus infection and UTI. I am scheduled to complete the course of Levaquin on Tuesday, February 5. Is it safe to try to get pregnant on Friday, February 8. I have not started any prenatal vitamins, is it foolish to start prenatal vitamins along with the Levaquin or should I have been taking these a few months beforehand?
So now I'm on Levaquin for 3 weeks for a sinus infection. One of the side effects is tendonitis. I already have tendonits (both wrists) and everything has failed including physical therapy and steroid injections, i was referred to surgeon now as nothing has worked, have an appoint in November. Should I take the levaquin if i already have tendonitis? The sinus infection is bad saw ENT friday and put me on levaquin.
Now, having explained everything, I would like to ask your educated opinion on what might the cause of this type of sinus infection and why I cannot be cured with the medicine I have been given? My personal hypothesis is that since my sugar levels are usually in the 180-200 mg/dl and I have an extremely big hepatic health problem, I am unable to heal. My other guesses are: 1) I may be immune to many antibiotics or I may have a virus and not an bacterial infection.
treated with doxycycline by end of june for 1 wk. started on avelox end of july for 1 wk. then given levaquin for a wk. by last wk doc said she didn't think was infection cause levaquin shoudl have killed anything, even though I was still having gobs of green phlegm coming down the back of my throat and out of my lungs. she sent me to the asthma and allergy clinic where i was tested for 27 diff allergies all negative for.

Doctor prescribed Prednisone,Zithromax, Acyclovir [for cold sores] and Clindamycin cap 300 mg for sinus infection. Just lately I got acid reflux.... hard to swallow... even when I did it was bad... slight burning to severe burning feeling on the left hand side of my mid upper chest area. I went back again to see the doctor who told me the coughing, wheezing [which now both had stopped... nearly completely] from the sinus infection is proobably the causes of it. He now prescribed AdipHex....
Ok so fingers crossed that the infectious doctor can offer something different, after all infections are his speciality, i would be surprised if he hasn't come accross a problematic psuedamonus infection before. He may be aware of a much more effective combinationof drugs through previous experience.
I did read somewhere that it was 500 mg of levaquin per day for a week would cure it; and i figured the 750 mg; was a day and a half of 500mg; that it would take less time since the dosage was higher
but to be safe; since i have 750mg of levaquin; and took it for 6 complete days SHOULD cure it?

I had a sleep study done and waiting for results. I have had Levaquin 500 mg for 20 days. Then Levaquin 750 mg for 10 days. I still have fever and sinus headaches. The doctor also started me on Mucinex. I do not think it is doing anything at all. My fever varies from 99.9 to 100.5. I am always tired. I don't feel I am getting any answers and I don't want to feel like this anymore.
That may have made me feel the best of all the antibiotics, although I credit Levaquin for clearing up the infection in the flesh in my nose. Doxycycline just made me feel healthy, and gave me endurance.
A couple of weeks ago, a UTI, and with bravery, I faced another dreaded doctor's visit. The nurse asked me how I had gone shopping when I had a UTI. I said compared to how I've felt in the last two years, this is nothing. Seven days of Cipro. Again, I felt better still.
Exertion plus already dehydrated body with high Antibiotic dosage for 20 days, Guifenisin, Sinus infection, Allergic Rhinitis, too much of green tea (diuretic) etc probably is causing the blood in urine. I strongly suspect trauma on Sunday casued blood in urine, because 5 weeks back my WBC in CBC was normal, now its high. Am I guessing right, I am not trained in medical field?

I have had a sinus and ear infection for a month and a half now. It's extremely frustrating and can be very painful at times. My doctor had put me on a regimen of Zythromax and now I'm on Levaquin. He has also prescribed Prednisolone for a six day time span to help open things up. I have had problems with my ears and sinus's since I was very little. I currently get allergy injections, take Rhinoquart Aqua and Claritin for my allergies.
I was on 875 mg of amoxicillin for respritory infection then the day i finished that I was given levaquin for a sinus infection I got while I was on the amoxicillin and now I have an ear infection with discharge and bleeding and the sinus infection is not gone? Is it possible to get all these infections one right after the other while on these anibiotics?
I was on augmentim for a month. by the end of 2 weeks i felt better, but it was not gone, so I got another 2 weeks. I thought it was gone when I finished, but it came right back.
I got a 10 day treatment of Levaquin from my allergist. I have taken 3 pills. It has helped a little, but not alot. They told me to make an appointment if I did not feel better by Wednesday. Should I be feeling better by now? I do not work anywhere near my allergist so taking time off of work is a problem.
