m 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference. Well, my skin gets hard bumps under the skin which arent pimples and they will form permenant red marks on my face.
Things you should also know, I was on birth control and the month before I forgot to take my birth control on a weekend trip and got my period, at an irregular time. This month I got a light period at the same time but while I was taking my birth control properly, then at the end of the packet is where I start my missed period count. I did start bc because I had irregular periods and this missed period has happened before when I was younger from messing with my bc but never this long.
Usually on birth control, your 'periods' come like clockwork...unless you're not taking the pill correctly - as in the same time EVERY day. When you start missing pills, that messes up your cycle. You should go see your doctor and have it checked. It could be the pills causing this, but it could be something else.
I am not a doctor but I do know that it is a very common thing to have women with multiple cysts go on birth control. Only you can make the decision of whether it is right for you and, if you decide to take it you may need to try a couple of different brands before you find one that doesn't give you any side effects. In terms of the side effects written on pamphlets etc., those are every conceivable thing that could happen.
yea i agree with u on the whole guinea pig thing , but i dont think birth control is a womens chore, if i knew all the side effects &it was out longer i would deff get mine to do it lol. but i dont think most men would do it anyways just because the risk is what get some of them aroused.
I am about to start nuva ring and I was wondering if anyone has had any side effects from this BC that are something to worry about? I've been off BC for about 6 months or more now because of the risks and my doctor put me on nuva ring because he said it was less side effects...I'm a smoker and I'm 24 years old. Any thoughts?

Some of the side effects of the birth control pills - Gildess include breast tenderness, water retention which may have led to increase in breast size. All the effects of the drugs are reversible after discontinuation of the drug. However you can also think of changing over to some other pill. Consult your Doctor. Hope this helps.

Has anyone gotten the birth control implant on their arm ? If so did it make you gain weight or is your weight steady? Did it hurt? What side effects did you feel/having? Yes, take a test to be sure. I am not familiar with that type of birth control or the side effects but taking a test is vital if there's a possibility you could be pregnant. Please do so to be sure -- there are so many women who want children out there and can't have them and it would be a shame if you were pregnant but the birth control harmed your unborn child.

I started taking Doryx 250 mg as prescribed by me derm around oct 16...the first week was fine but then I noticed the 2nd week I was losing double the amount of hair in the shower. These weren't even new hairs, but complete long strands were falling off and i've never experience that before. I nearly had a heart attack! I've currently been off the medication for almost a month now and the im still losing more hair than I used to.
