Domperidone and ranitidine for babies

Common Questions and Answers about Domperidone and ranitidine for babies

zantac

Avatar n tn I now take 2 omeprazole a day, 4 domperidone--a motility drug, and a Zantac before bed. I have tried ginger capsules and all kinds of natural supplements, plus tums, etc. Any suggestions? I have had a bezoar when digestion just stopped, gall bladder out--infection in that. I feel like I have morning sickness all the time!
Avatar f tn t usually suggest asking an MD for a rx, but for this problem it might be a good use, hopefully causing improvement and maybe not needed for the rest of your life. But it is important to get good nutrition for your brain health and bones and preventing cancer. You might try L-glutamine as it is a supplement that helped improve absorption for me when I was recovering from Celiac damage to my intestines. It is the only thing that turned things around and helped me gain weight.
215164 tn?1269466240 Well im on omeprazole and ranitidine and neither of them are working for me.... tried everything - chamomile tea, peppermint tea, tums, peptac, gaviscon, milk....bleh. nothing works.
Avatar n tn I have had nausea and mild upper abdominal pain with a burning sensation for about 2 months now. The nausea gets worse at night when i'm lying down. When its worse I can also feel acid/vomit? at the back of my throat and it becomes difficult to swallow. I have also developed a cough with loads of mucus being coughed up. I have had mild heartburn for a few years now, it hasnt seemed to have got worse in the last 2 months though.
Avatar f tn So I have hashimotos. I had a baby in October. She turned out to be allergic to dairy. I cut out dairy. My thyroid function increased to the point that my tsh dropped to <0.01 on 1/19 and my milk production drastically decreased. I stopped taking my thyroid meds in desperation to get my milk supply back as fast as possible because even when we used the hypoallergenic formula my baby was still passing massive blood in her stool.
Avatar n tn Just wondering if anybody here has ever taken Domperidone and Escitalopram. It says in the Domperidone leaflet not to take the two medications together, and some quick research online says there is a severe interaction between the two medicines. Despite this my doctor has prescribed them both to me. 30mg of Domperidone a day + 20mg of Escitalopram a day. Should I consult with my doctor about this or will I be fine? Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Domperidone is legal is most countries but it is not FDA approved in the US. This is because it can rarely cause heart problems. I took it and I had no side effects at all. It didn't work very well for me though.
2006603 tn?1331329327 My first son was in the nicu for 21 days and I was pumping my milk and taking it to the hospital for them to feed it to him, well when they told me they were full I didn't bring any the next day when we went to see him they were giving him similac, I thought they had my milk since they said they were full of mine (in my sons bin in the freezer), big confusion but anyways, he had bad spit up, vomiting, reflux, all from the similac, so we switched to Enfamil AR, it was ok but he would still sp
Avatar f tn After remaining on steroids for 6 weeks to control it together with a comination of domperidone, lansoprazole and ranitidine. apart from feeling exhausted the heartburn was brought under control slightly and a beclomatasone preventitive inhaler had been introduced to help with the asthma induced symptoms. We were referred to another specialist to await the operation which tightens the valve to help stop GERD (still presently awaiting operation).
Avatar f tn Three to four years ago, my pediatric had prescribed me 300 mg Ranitidine for heart burn. A few months later, a urgent care physician had prescribed me the same medicine. In total, I've taken two bottles of Ranitidine (approx 2 months worth of tablets). I've been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar m tn Until recently, my symptoms have been well conntrolled with medication (Pantoprazole 40mg twice daily and domperidone) and lifestyle modications. I have avoided most problematic foods (onions, garlic, citrus , caffeine, carbonated beverages, chocolate, mint and spicy items). About 3 months ago I started to experience what I consider to be IBS symptoms; bloating, cramps and lots of gas. The discomfort ocurred much lower down than my typical GERD symptoms do.
Avatar n tn I've taken Ranitidine sporadically for years, and have never associated it with arrhythmia. However, the perhaps reason you're taking Ranitidine, namely GERD has been associated with arrhythmia. Interestingly, the day I cut as many carbohydrates from my diet as I could was the last day I needed to take Ranitidine.
Avatar m tn I have had Shortness of breath, tight chest, constantly clearing my throat, but not much comes up. This had been going on for like 4 months for me and I finally went to the DR. and HE said gerd.. I always thought Gerd was more like heartburn, or food coming up in your throat. And I also thought it was mostly in over weight persons. I am 40 i weigh like 135, and I dont understand how GERD can make me short on breath.
Avatar f tn The best medicine I have tried for gastroparesis is Domperidone. The FDA doesn't approve of it. Many/most GI doctors do. Try to get a prescription from a GI doctor and you can then purchase the product in Canada. You cant get it at some compounding pharmacies in some states in the US, but the prices are 3 times the Canadian prices. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Can I take Stemetil when taking Domperidone? Following a barium x-ray, I take Domperidone because I was told that my stomach wasn't emptying like it should. I also suffer nausea and take cyclizine. I also have stemetil that I took but was told that you can't take stemetil when on domperidone, is that right?
Avatar f tn It takes up to 6 months for the body to recover. I'm on my 5th month now and still have some symptoms similar to yours (only mine are migrating all the time) but acid reflux is no more. Had some issues last month after eating chinese food, only to find out later that all soy sauces have wheat in them.
Avatar n tn For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
612876 tn?1355514495 I'm so sorry you're having such a terrible time with your gastroparesis. I feel bad complaining about mine when you're onto tube feedings now! I've cared for children with feeding tubes before (back when I was working), so I understand how hard that can be! Hang in there, and I hope things improve for you soon!! Thanks for letting me know about the domperidone. I'm really frustrated.
Avatar f tn Has anyone that has gastricparesis tried Zelnorm? It was working for me and than they took it off the market. My doctor just suggested a drug from Canada named domperidone. Does anyone have any experience with this drug. I tried Reglan and couldn't handle the side affects. Erithamyacin made me break out in a rash. Right now I depend on Zofran for the throwing up and sometimes it doesn't help.
Avatar f tn I am taking a prescription from Canada called Domperidone and it has helped a little but its effectiveness seems to be wearing off. Is there something else out there that helps. I am quite sick right now.
Avatar f tn I too get heartburn late at night and it gets worse laying on my left side and my remedy has been been a box of water ice lol but thanx again for this tip
Avatar f tn i have GP too, never tried reglan but domperidone worked pretty well for me and is extremely safe. inhousepharmacy.com has it for very cheap. also, there are herbs like ginger and shatavari that improve speed of digestion as well if you want to go natural. my biggest help has honestly been either homeopathy (try the remedy nux vomica) or hypnosis/visualization. and my personal opinion is that acid blockers are absolutely terrible for your stomach and digestion in the long term.
Avatar f tn I breastfed for the first three days and then it became apparent that my milk supply was too low for Syd. I ended up pumping for four months after trying natural and prescripton galactogens (sp?)and various appts with my lactation consultant. At no point was a ivf mentioned as the culprit but I have a friend who recently told me that was what her lactation consultant said. Friend said that she pumped about 20hours a day in the beginning because she was strying to have enough for twins.
569254 tn?1267372644 My son was diagnosed at 4 months and ever since he has been put on meds everything has been great. He still has issues with drinking but its a whole diffrent problem. I think he is on Zantax (?) Its called ranitidine on the bottle but I think its generic for zantax. He takes it 2x's a day and he hasnt thrown up since. A little spit up now and then but other than that nothing:) I would ask your peds about meds, it really helped for us:) Good luck!
Avatar m tn I took the 40mg omperazole once a day for a month and i was still gettin very bloated to the point were i could not catch my breath and was causing left shoulder pain. I had to wait 2 weeks for and endoscopy. I have recieved my endoscopy and it showed mild inflammation of stomach and gullet and they have taking test for any bacteria in stomach . I am going to have to wait another 2 weeks for results and am back taking the omeprazole but my stomach is constanlty bloating up after eating.
