The dog certainly wasn't buried as deep as deep as we would have liked, but our ground is limerock so we can only get so deep... My husband put a slab of drywall (left over from a remodeling project) over it with cement blocks on that, but the boxer dug through the drywall.
My question is.. Do I really need to try to get my boxer to an emergency vet? I don't know if this is something that will poison him or just make him sick for a little while.
I gave my dog 1.5 () pills last night with dinner and he threw up half way through the night. He threw up breakfast this morning, and is throwing up any water (anything really) that he tries to ingest. He's throwing up within minutes of taking the food or water in.
He's lethargic and really sad.
Our vet just said to wait it out till the meds were out of his system, and to give Pepcid if he wont stop throwing up.
She always had a sensitive stomach and tended to throw up if she ate something other than her food or if she drank her water too fast but now she is throwing up yellow bile a couple times a week on an empty stomach.
About a month ago she coughed up blood so we took her to the vet. He did a chest xray and thought she may have cancer because of some shawdowy patches on her lungs and her heart was lifted above where it should be. He then did blood tests and a trachial wash??
Missy dog vomits when she eats or drinks. She can only keep down white rice and small amounts of water at a time. Her stool is normal and stomach isn't hard. I am concerned at she can't continue to just eat rice. I tried boiling hamburer and putting a little in the rice but she vomited that too.

I have a 13 year old Dachshund that has thrown up 10+ times in the last hour. Her stomach is bloated and making a sound similar to water sloshing around in a bathtub. She keeps constantly whining and going to her water bowl to drink then throw up shortly after. It's almost entirely water that she is throwing up the rest is mucus/foam. She is still energetic and keeps trying to play with her toys. Anyone have any suggestions?
The powder can either be licked up from the spoon by the dog, or added to a little water, which can then be drunk all up (not a whole dishful, or you would find it hard to know if the full dose had been taken)
Homeopathic meds are totally harmless and without side effects. Like I said (as long as there isn't any major undiagnosed health issue going on) -they can work extremely fast and extremely successfully.
Hi Hopefully, things will settle, but if the vomiting becomes more frequent, then I would certainly consult a vet about it. I am not a great fan of dry food, as after my own research into different diets for dogs I came to the conclusion that many dogs fed for a lifetime on dry food (which was devised purely as a convenience for dog owners and not for the good of dogs), are chronically dehydrated for a lifetime. The long term dehydration damages the kidneys.
My dog doesn't have diarrhea just vomiting. She hasnt thrown up sinve I posted this today. Still hasnt eaten but I have her water bowl filled a all times and keep giving her water. She is laying asleep the past hour or so. She.must have no energy due to not eating. Im trying to.get the money sorted so hoping.to get her to a vet tomorrow. Thanks for all your advice.
If she was truly vomiting, then something would have to be coming up because we know she has food and water in her stomach. It's this horrible retching sound that I've never heard come out of a dog. She's clearly distressed. What could this be? Where we live, it's very late at night and a weekend so our normal vet is closed.
Its mixed with yellow bile and some times its light red ,or orange. he wants to eat grass then throws up. Hes eating regularly, drinks water, plays is his normal self but has been throwing up blood every few days now. It was every day until a friend who is a vet tech told me to try worm medicine. now hes throwing up less frequently but still is. Im worried about him. My dog got 9nto compost pike and ate the rotten patatoes and has been vomiting sticky flem. All evening. I picked up water, to see if vomiting will stop, for a couple of hours. Her abdominal area is very tight. She lwajed some urine that had a pink tinge to it. I dont have the funds to take her to night vet. Any suggestions?
This is not uncommon in my experience. The best I can offer is to carefully pick up the "poop" and put in trash (plastic shopping bags work well). This my pass and unpleasant as the suggestion is it may be worth a try.
We have a large property and a small dog, so I don't pick up behind our dog.. it all decomposes and he's good about going away from the house so stepping in it is unlikely.
Hi. There are far too many possibilities with the symptoms you have described, so I don't want to try second-guessing. It would be worth trying to get some fluids in her though, even if she won't take food right now. You could try her with some chicken or beef broth (low sodium type). If you can't find the broth, try some chicken or beef bullion, which will at least get some fluids in her.
Canned dog food is better than dry dog food, particularly if a dog isn't drinking.
He acted normally--drank water, ate food, ran around playing and did everything he normally does except for the vomiting. He had had no change in foods, but he is the type of dog that eats nails, paper clips, tacks, necklaces, plastic, and anything he isn't supposed to that he can get his paws on. Since I have 2 children I never know what they might drop or leave lying around, and; therefore, I am often pulling things out of my dog's mouth.
