Dog throwing up white foam

Common Questions and Answers about Dog throwing up white foam

throwing-up

The appetite was very good yet every couple of days he would throw up bile and white foam...But NOT food. However the past 2 days he is not himself...does not have much of an appetite and he just threw up his UNDIGESTED food. The Vet told me to give him 1/4 pill of pepcid -and probiotic yogurt. It's the weekend and don't know what to do.
By the 3rd time of him throwing up is was a red liquid with white foam. After this he started pooping on the floor, I then let him outside where he continues to poop and now it is straight diarrhea. I have him in my bathroom now, I have tried to get him to drink some water and he wont. My question is what is causing this, and What can I do to make him better?
My dog is a 3 month old Chihuahua/Shitzu mix. He had threw up once a day Corry the last three days, and today when we woke up he was on Great spirits then a few hours later he started acting weird. He has been getting sick about 2 times an hour which is either white foam or Food that he had in his belly. His breathing has dramatically changed, his breathing has become shallow and at times sounds like he is breathing quick short breaths.
my pug is gagging and throwing up white foamy stuff. He is 6 years old and has been doing this for the past 5 hours. Its happened before but only lasted a cople of minutes. What could be wrong with him?
He has been sick since Thursday throwing up foam and then started throwing up dark mustard brown color (assuming bile). He hasn't eaten or really had much to drink since Thursday. He is weak and not active and when laying down his breathing seems very shallow, and i know that his low activity is due to him not eating. I took him to the vet (yesterday 10-2-11) and they did blood work and his white blood count was high (24,000).. normal is 17,000. The rest of his labs were normal.

She first starts letting out little whimpers and then it escalates into painful yelps. My other dog even runs to her aid. When I try to move her she freezes up. Shortly after she is fine and alert and will run and play like nothing was wrong so she doesn't seem to be in pain. I am going to try and video record her next time this happens so that I can show it to my vet. It doesn't sound like it is common so it's difficult to explain to people who haven't seen it before. She isn't dreaming..
his nickname is Bubber and Sandy Grace is Cissy) was not ready to leave us. She is not in pain, but most uncomfortable with the throwing up. She is doing better with this since I am giving her tums. Cissy weighs around 95 pounds, so I am disolving four tums in water and administering by a syringe. I know this is short lived, but she finally accepted some shredded chicken that I had cooked for her.
Sometimes your dog may not eat enough one night and the next morning it will throw up yellow or white foam. Then they will also puke if they eat too much, it is a delicate balance. Allergies can also be the cause. Allergies are another thing that they are sensitive towards, when my allergies act up, I take a Claritin before bed, and the dog gets half a Benadryl tablet (about 10mg). One last thing, Shih Tzu are, again, sensitive dogs. This time I am talking of their feelings.
The yesterday, we were napping and suddenly she leaps up and starts to wretch....she spewed up a coule spots of clear liquid with a little foam. Thinking maybe her tummy was empty, I gave her a a few bites of her kibble. She eats Wellness Core Fish Formula and K9 Kravings Raw. So, she seemed fine after giving her a few kibble. All was well...until today....she started vomiting clear fluid with a lot of grass blades in it.

He did not appear to have any visible injuries however shortly after the fall he began throwing up and would not eat nor drink. We took Freddie to an emergency Veterinarian who said he was fine and sent him home with nausea medication. Freddie is mobile yet lethargic. He refuses all food and water. We took him to his regular Veterinarian on 9/7/10 and again on 9/8/10 because he would not eat or drink. Our Veterinarian confirmed there were no injuries from the fall.
My dog had what looked like a yellow jelly like poop and was throwing up white foam stuff, and she died tonight. What was the cause? She hasnt had any of her shots yet(including deworming shot). Shes maybe 8 weeks.
He has been getting by on 1/2 tab just before bedtime, and that seems to get him through the entire night without throwing up. Its the night time puking that is killing us, and our carpets. So anything that lets me get a whole nights sleep without wakingup to a pile of dog puke is A-ok with me.
no classic cat retching... just a splash of waterish stuff comming out??? anyone experience this sort of throwing up in a cat? i'm taking him to the vet for bloods and tests tomorrow or the next day...
She has lost her weight drastically and not even eating properly. Also she is throwing foam like stuff. I will be taking her to my vet tomorrow. My vet says it’s surprising to see such a young dog having chronic kidney failure. It's been tough going for both Amber and my family members. I am not sure if this disease is curable or she can even recover. Trust me we all love her like mad and even all the kids in my society were crying after watching the condition of Amber.
pumpkin, sweet potatoe all gave her loose stools..also, the past month she have been throwing up in the early morning, like white phlegm, sometimes a little yellow...otherwise she acts healthy...did go to the vet...she was put on 1/4 of pepcid twice a day...worked okay for a few days, but back to morning throw up...I only let her eat her science diet, nothing else...oh and 1 probiotic called probiable dc since going on the science diet wd in Sept...
my problem is that when my stomach is empty, i throw up white foamy stuff soemtiems with yellowish acid. this all tastes bitter and sour. what is all that white foam?
I had my son talk to him calming during the seizure and he seemed to come out of it. My son is almost 20 and the dog is his buddy. The dog then got up and acted fine. He was hungry so I waited about 30 minutes and then fed him. He went out to go to the bathroom and is now sleeping. He does also have a ACL problem. I am curious about the honey that I read in other discussions. My question is how much would I give him?
Well, along with the other problems he has also been throwing up white foam and is a bit lethargic (I referred to that as him being lazy, but it's really lethargy) I did talk to the vet, and she said I needed to bring him in first thing in the morning. She said it was urgent..not an emergency..but urgent. I work tomorrow starting very early in the morning. I can't take him to the vet. I'll see if my husband wants to do that.
I have something that helps me, it's a rice pack. They're made from a dish towel, filled with white rice, uncooked, and sewn up on all sides. You can put it in the microwave or oven until it's hot, and then on your soar muscles. The great thing about it is that the rice releases moisture when heated. That moisture and heat will really relax the neck or where ever placed. Just be careful it isn't blazing hot. You can get one at Bed, Bath and Beyond, http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?
She also threw up when she woke up that morning. When I say she's throwing up I'm not just talking about a small amount like spit up she is throwing up a lot. Well after she threw up that first time monday morning she was fine again all day and just as happy as could be. Again on monday night and Tuesday morning she threw up again. I have been nursing my daughter every since she was born and I'm wondering if there is any way possible that somehow my milk is making her sick.
If I set in a chair it makes my legs hurt to have pressure pushing on the back side of my legs so I keep my knees up high. If I need to have a BM it makes my legs hurt terrible then after I us the restroom it is instant pain relief. When I sleep at night my legs hurt so bad it wakes me up. I can get out of bed and walk around for a few minutes the pain goes away then I go back to sleep again.
For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Read first on your comment about Milo throwing up medicine an posted a few there Loreena is alike, you better ask your vet for some pills ( or no) to be given previously to the Amoxillin. One of my vets say Amoxillin alone is not so good so he prescribe one plus Clavulato.Vet opinions, forget about. Those antib suspensions have quite bad taste and they cause my girl to foam, throw up and hate me as well. Milo will be back to accepting things, dont worry. Good recover you all!
I wonder if there is some way that the foam padding could be responsibe even though t doesn't touch the skin directly. I think this could be true because the bra that I bought was lined in the same material as the straps and the straps did not cause a reaction- only the cups!!!
When I moved from my apartment of 8 years, where they had both lived since kittens, into a house in the country, Mittens began licking her front legs and throwing up hairballs and then would throw up white foam and couldn't stop throwing up this white foam. I had made many trips to the vet, many tests (xrays, blood work, etc.) and nothing wrong with her. She would have to get Reglin shots (pharmaceutical that blocks something in the brain that tells them they really don't have to get sick).
