With our dog, if we can feed him BEFORE he gets sick, he won't get sick. (he gets fed twice a day). So having an empty stomach seems to have something to do with it. Even if he just gets a couple dog biscuits, he won't throw up. You could try giving him a biscuit here and there if his stomach is very empty to see if it helps (and if weight is not a big problem).
We switched him to Nutro Sensitive Stomach formula, and saw a huge improvement.

I gave my dog 1.5 () pills last night with dinner and he threw up half way through the night. He threw up breakfast this morning, and is throwing up any water (anything really) that he tries to ingest. He's throwing up within minutes of taking the food or water in.

They put her on a pancreatic enzyme to mix with her food to keep her from throwing up, but she never throws up her food, just the large amouts of water she drinks. Your shoes may be throwing you off kilter, then, in domino effect throwing everything else off. When you enter or exit a car, have your fanny on the side of the seat, then lift both legs and pivot. Stretching to put one leg in and the rest of you into a sitting position, and vice versa, is very hard on your spine.
