Common Questions and Answers about Dog abscess tooth home treatment

abscess

After about a week on the medication I noticed a decrease in the drinking and an increase in energy. I then noticed a lump under his eye which was a tooth root abscess. He was given clindamycin (sp?) and after about 2 days on the antibiotic he started the excessive drinking again. A urine cortisol test was done after about a week on the antibiotic with even more elevated results.
I have a very old dog, she is 16.5 years old. She still eats every day, comes around for treats with the rest of the dogs. She goes outside to do her business and only has an accident when she isn't let out. She is pretty bright and alert. Problem is she pants a lot, especially at night but eventually she stops and goes to sleep. Her breath smells horrible. She is too old to have her teeth cleaned. Her weight is good so I don't think it is her organs.
I have a 14 year old dog. Last week we found out he had a tooth abscess. We put him under antibiotic. After a few days the infection ( little mass under his eye) disappeared. He seemed to be doing a whole lot better (he stopped crying at night and was more reactive) I was also planing to find a vet to take off his tooth.
Could he have an abscess somehow? He couldnt have been bit cause i am always walking him and the other dog was in his cage while I was at work and he was in the bathroom.. I got him a large plastic collar so he cant scratch and i put dog wound creme on it and neosporin. it looks like it might be draining a bit. His nose is wet and cold, his gums are not pale and when i look in his mouth in that area I dont see anything abnormal.
My first thought when looking at this was that it is perhaps a tooth abscess. Has he had his teeth checked recently? On the other hand, it could also be a cyst. If, when you gently feel it, does it feel attached somehow, or does it lift up with the skin? If it lifts up it sounds very much like a cyst. Does it appear to cause him any discomfort or do you see him shaking his head sometimes? It has a very rounded appearance, and that is quite cyst-like.
Xray of the head showed a small abscess in one of her back teeth, but the tooth is intact, not loose, and gums were not swollen/inflamed. She received an antibiotic/antiinflammatory shot, swelling on her snout was down by the afternoon, and fever was reduced through Thursday night. Friday, her fever was back up to 104.7 so she went back to the vet, received SQ fluids, Baytril shot, and Baytril in tablet form in addition to the Clovamax.
Hi Friends, Please come on in and make yourself at home. Get ready, cause it's quite a ride. You can do it!
A dental diet and oravet are good choices. I use CET veggie dents in addition to those two home care options for my little dog. A combination approach is best, but nothing will prevent the need for a cleaning in the next 6-12 months. You will delay the buildup with your home care making the problems not as bad for future - ie less systemic damage over time. Good job for taking care of your little guy! Dr.
This is the place to be if you are trying to recover from Tramadol ... Please make yourself at home!
just try it- a slice of raw garlic wrapped in a bit of gauze placed between the lip and gum over a tooth abscess, within 45 minutes the pain will be gone, with repeated application so will the infection. Your dentist will NEVER tell you about that one. If you want your eyes opened, visit www.naturalnews.com . If you use Facebook you can "like" their page and you will get regular updates to your home page. Also www.earthclinic.com, just amazing what natural substances can do!
the good news is that it is not the type that would spread to other parts of her body. The doctor saidf the treatment option for it would be surgery to have it removed and it may come back later on but then if it does that surgery would be the option again. I just wanted to know if the surgery for this skin Cancer is a fairly safe surgery, I know ther are always risks when it comes to surgery but is this a common surgery for cat?
We took him to vet, he stayed for 12 hours, and was sent home with Phenob. He has been seizure free but is a different dog now. Constantly wants to eat and drink, in trashcan, and just seems like his life resolves around food... :-( We are very sad about the dog he has become. I will talk to our vet about the 2 meds you mentioned. He is on a very high dose of Pheno now (97mg 2x day) and is only 40 lbs.
She had also had baseline blood work done and yearly vaccines completed with this visit as well. Happily I went home with my dog thinking she is covered. Well, not more than 24 hours later, my dog was weak, stunned and could hardly walk. She did not appear to respond to the calling her name or to go outside. She fell off the second step of our deck and appeared very confused as to her environment. She also appeared very lethargic and no appetite.
The first thing I though was infected tooth tooth. Not only is pain involve with teeth but it messes with cats smell and a cat that can't smell will not eat. An old trick to get a cat to eat is get wet cat food or dry and add water put it in the microwave for 5 seconds at a time until it is stinky then make sure it is cool this is important you do not want to burn the cats mouth. When you have stirred it and are sure it is cool see if fluff show interest.
Considering the fact that virus do not suvive in an Ozone enviroment makes want to trial. Home used Ozone water treatment products are designed not produce more than specified ozone gas into your water, that is if you decide on ozone water therapy. Others include ozone sleeping bags and ozone infussing into your system. With these two you will need to consult your doctor. Ozone can be deadly if badly applied. Anyway this is my next goal after my next blood work in a few weeks .
One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well. You may also get a splitting headache, felt most intensely in the forehead. • Sphenoid sinuses.
we discovered a tumor around october of last year. it's been about 6-7 months and it's now the size of a baseball. we started homeopathy around december 1st with some initial improvement of his energy but continual tumor growth. he likes his new diet though of fresh cooked fish and shrimp! he's started scratching the growth as of two days ago and it's opened up. the regular vet gave us a topical spray yesterday to help with the itching but he seems very uncomfortable at this point.
The first time they told me my liver enzymes were real high but there was no sign of pancreatits and they sent me home with pain killers. The second time they did and ultra sound, found nothing, and again sent me home on pain killers. Has this happened to anyone? I am scared but tired of going to the ER to be told to go home and rest.
Im not sure if they are going to want to remove them, but i have tried everything from nasonex to antibiotics for treatment. I want to hear if anyone has had them removed and if it has been sucessful for them.
Yrs. ago, I also went through this terrible problem & ETD is just the worst thing to dx/treat/fix. My case was unilateral w/ ear but bilateral w/ nasal prssr-hdprssr. I also went through several ENT's/Neurotologists scans & tests. Cause can be 1 or multi-problems. It's a rule out game. Hm-journal, like a sm- calendar bk is great since it's dated & can go back to see date of matching events/symptoms. Use abreviations. The ET's are in the back of the throat & connect to middle-ear.
I've had to go to the emergency room a few times for intravenous fluid due to dehydration. I'm a stay-at-home mom of a very handsome 1 year old so I am always near the bathroom but on the days I am away from home I usually dont eat for fear that my tummy will act up. Food is no longer a joy, it is a complete hassle. Anyone out there with the same kind of problem? I would love to get some advice on how to cope and what things that have helped you to suffer less.
The fist time I tested positive, I had done the candida treatment. I think it worked because at some point I did the test several times and it was negative. I was so happy. Unfortunately, that did not last. I started having the same signs again, and when I tested it was positive again. And ever since I can't get it to be negative again, meaning the candida if that is what I have has become resistant to the supplements that I was using.
The kicker is that my husband and I have to BOTH treat our genital areas and our feet with the antifungal ointment (and some couples may require that both partners treat their hands as well for the very tough cases) in order to combat the problem. Again, treatment for the female includes thoroughly treating BOTH PARTNERS. Treatment is outlined beautifully on MayoClinic.com (a reputable website run by a well respected hospital system) at http://www.mayoclinic.
In October, 2007, I developed an extremely sore throat, accompanied by an abscess on my tonsil. At the same time, I found that I could not turn my head side-to-side, nor lift my arms forward, sideways, etc. The Sports Medicine doctor took x-rays, which turned out so poorly, he could not determine whether or not I had a hole in my rotator cuff. I was sent to rehab., whereupon I was told that the tissue in my upper arms was filled with knots, and that my shoulder joints were not frozen.
