does wisdom teeth removal hurt

Does anyone know if i can get my wisdom teeth out while pregnant? Im 29 weeks...i thought i was gonna be able to hold out until after he got here but im almost crying in pain my teeth hurt so bad...i dont even want to eat. Any thoughts? has anyone done it while pregnant? would they be able to knock me out still...or could i take anything for the pain afterwards if i had to? can you buy novacaine on the street (LOL just kidding!!) i hurt so bad!!

So I had my wisdom teeth just over a week and I am still in pain not as much when I first got them taken out and this pass friday I called the nurse and she said to stop taking the strong pain killers "hydro" and have been really like feeling sick but did not have a cold or anything just felt bad.

the bottom wisdom teeth were already out but leaning twards my other teeth causing them to be slightly impacted I suppose but I didnt need an oral surgeon apparently the dentist did the extraction. it took about an hour to do the one that was causing the pain and about 30 min to do the other one. The dentist was wonderful considering my lack of oral care thusfar, I skipped work for a day and went back today, when I got home I was throbbing and It hasnt stopped.

Post-op discomfort after wisdom teeth removal may last weeks. Wisdom teeth are frequent occlusal interference. It's common patients feel the jaw position or bite is different after wisdom teeth removal. This is probably what you described " misaligned". If you do'nt have temporomandibular disorder, the bite will be realigned after a couple of weeks. If you do have tmd problems, seeing a tmj specialist is advised.

I have but mine is with any thing that is salt! i had mine taken out in 08' and they left chipped peices of tooth still in there. right afterwards well the doc said it was the stiches. well two days later i had to dig the chipped peices out! and what not!

The pressure feeling may be coming from the movement of the teeth. Its normal to have some pain or discomfort from your wisdom teeth as they come out. Try some over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol or Motrin (whatever you would take for headaches that's safe for you) and see if that helps. I took my 4 wisdom teeth out with an oral surgeon and I was put asleep. Didn't remember a thing.

Be absolutely certain you've gleaned all the information and knowledge available ( and there's a ton out there ) about complications that can arise from wisdom teeth extractions. Alas, I did not investigate fully ( accepting only my oral surgeons view ) and am paying the price for that neglect. There ARE other options. Interestingly enough there's even a segment of dental medicine that advocates NO wisdom teeth extractions except under the most extreme circumstances. Please...

Normally people removes their wisdom teeth just for the growth for other teeth. Wisdom teeth has no function in our dental structure. So I suggest you meet your dentist to remove your wisdom teeth.

no i never had a rootcanal its a wisdom teeth removal,the bottom 2 wisdom teeth on my lower jaw they had to cut into my gums and take out the wisdom teeth

Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.

It looked alot like Molluscum Contagiosum from pics online. But after going back to sleep(recovering from wisdom teeth removal) and waking at 1 pm the bump was flat and only very slightly red, is this possibly due to herpes at all? Plus, the possible cold sore on lower lip still doesn't hurt,itch, tingle, etc after 2 days (don't even know its there unless i look in the mirror). It has gotten only slightly better with constant 2 day usage of abreva and herpacin-l.

okay, so question. I need my wisdom teeth removed badly. I think my ortho should have let me remove them before I got my braces. well now no braces but bad hurting wisdom teeth. :( my question is what should I do?

I didn't know I was pregnant and got my wisdom teeth removed at around 5-6 weeks. I was under IV sedation and was on loratabs for about five days. I'm currently 9 weeks and have yet to see a doctor (waiting on medicaid approval). So I guess my question is, does any body think this will severally harm my baby?

Ok. So you had TWO wisdom teeth removed from the lower and nothing on the upper? I don't think its possible for the wisdom teeth to "jump" to the palate. Try getting your splint adjusted on the top palate area and see if that makes a difference. I wouldn't suggest you stop wearing your splint though because it may affect your TMJ.
