Avatar f tn I think I should give it some time, seeing that it takes a few weeks to see improvements. I also heard that Vitamin D3 is better to take compared to D2, but from what I understand D3 is not prescribed in such high doses. Maybe I'm supposed to take the D2 until my levels go up, then supplement afterwards with D3?
Avatar n tn You certainly can overdose on Vitamin D3, but just go get your levels checked by the doctor. It is a simple blood test easily done.
Avatar f tn Your body is using all energy for the baby so, give some energy back with healthy food choices. Try to stay away from greasy, fatty foods, surgery drinks. For the most part it does get better and easier.
Avatar f tn t bad enough we have also known for years that Vitamin D2 speeds up the rate at which your body disposes of Vitamin D so the more D2 you take the more you require. Vitamin D2 is also less effective than D3 so you need more D2 to get the same effect as D3 D doesn't stay in the body so if you take it weekly your body will be on a roller coaster of ups and downs. You need magnesium to balance the calcium that will be better utilized. It will also help with the anxiety.
Avatar n tn The endochronologist will order a vitamin D3 level and you will probably be put on a supplement. This will lower your blood calcium levels, and undoubtedly reduce fatigue. They will give other tests, such as an hba1c to evaluate glucose levels, which can also contriubute to fatigue.
398059 tn?1447945633 Back when I first found out I had MS, I started taking Vitamin D3 because I read that is was the best form of the vitamin to be taking because it best mimiced the effect of the sun. Does anyone here happen to know if this really an issue.
Avatar f tn You show that you are vitamin D3 deficient and also vitamin B 12. Are you taking supplements now? Have you talked to your doctor about seeing a dietician? Good nutrition is so important to our health. Are you getting enough sunshine? You might try Guggul from the health food store to help your thyroid. A slow thyroid causes dry skin and eczema. Avatar n tn I tested my vitamin D level. What do my results mean? I just picked the last two levels since the article is very long.... "My level is between 100-150 ng/ml Although these levels aren’t toxic and aren’t usually harmful, they are thought to be too high. There are no known benefits to having a vitamin D level over 100 ng/ml.
408795 tn?1324935675 The B-12 shots made him go,go go. He could watch a whole movie.and walk some. 1536712 tn?1294043301 :) FurballsMom - I'm not sure if 2000 is enough for me either, at least not winter and fall - but the text actually reads 'For more energy, take 2 tablets'.. So if this is the only vitamin supplement one takes, I don't think there is danger of poisoning of any kind - and 4000 IUs would be enough for me, at least ;) Not sure if that's what I'll do, maybe I'll just add a D3-pill to the multi. But it is a possibility :) SeattleAnne - Always!
867582 tn?1311627397 I have heard of people feeling nauseated and even vomiting from the Vitamin D3 and especially the D2, but no numbness. Hopefully someone else can give you more insight. I know when I first started the 50,000IU D2 I had extreme nausea for the first 3 weeks. (I have been taking it now since end of January) I also have to take the D3 2000IU daily (Started in Aug) but have had no problems with that.
Avatar f tn I am curious if the 50,000 IU of vitamin D you are taking is Vitamin D2 (rx) or Vitamin d3 (over the counter) I am reading that there is a huge difference and that most people respond to the otc version Vitamin D3. I was found to have a level of 20. I was already taking 2000 IU of D3 a day and he upped me to 4000 IU. There was a very very slight improvement in my sypmtoms, but then I upped it to 6000 IU and then 8000 IU.
5844567 tn?1378967719 How could i recover my deficiency of VITAMIN d3! i am 26 year female and my value is JUST 7.5 !! please help me out !! i am very worried !!
Avatar m tn Your D3 is severely deficient. I was at 19ng/mL in September and will retest my blood in a few weeks. You may be taking D2. That is bad. You need D3 and taken daily, not weekly or monthly. US lab range is 30-100ng/mL. You need to be above 50ng/mL. Anything below should be considered deficient. D and magnesium deficiency can cause depression, fatigue, anxiety, pain, brain fog, headache, eye sensitivity, etc.
Avatar f tn t know, vitamin d3 is what you should use, as it is what the body can absorb more easily. It helps wonders, as well, if you take it at the same time that you eat something that contains fat. Thanks for the reminder Ess.

335728 tn?1331414412 I purchased a bottle of D3 which does not say on the bottle that it is a "vitamin" like the D does.... Can anyone tell me what the difference is between D3 and Vitamin D? I asked the pharmacist at Walmart where the vitamin D was and he put this bottle of D3 in my hand and I wonder if I should take it...I assumed he knew what he was giving me...stupid me, yet again!
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm so frustrated and hoping that someone on here has some advice. I recently went to the dr. because I was feeling very fatigued and achy all over...not like "coming down with the flu" achy, just in general having more aches and pains and muscle twitches than usual. They ran a bunch of tests and came back saying that my bloodwork was spectacular, except for a Vitamin D level of 16.
Avatar m tn Hey I'm 28 too and recently found out that I have a D deficiency as well as B12 . My Dr. Prescribed me a prescription for vitamin D. Its made of vitamin d2& d3 though. However I've been skeptical to take it because reading about vitamin D2 being super toxic if not taken correctly or being absorbed correctly. I was also told to get and take a vitamin B12 supplement over the counter.
