I believe Ultram and Ultracet are the same. It is 37.5 tramadol and whatever of acetaminophen. I had the generic of Ultracet (have the bottle right in front of me) it is broke down as aceetaminophen and 37.5 tramadol. It is entitled tramadol (generic for Ultracet) but it has the acet/tramadol combination.
I was then prescribed straight tramadol which is 50mg tramadol with nothing else added. period.
If ultram is different than that is news to me.
does he have prior addiction problems? that is about 8 a day and tramadol is a weak pain killer but very addiction...2 weeks may not be long enuf to get addicted...tramadol is supposed to be tapered slowly if u r addicted to it....it may be the cause of the tummy stuff...does he have the runs? are u sure he doesnt take other stuff that u dont know about?
I just got back from Dr, they want me to take ultracet anyone know anything about it, my back pain is getting worse, and I need something but dont need another addiction, I will be starting PT in the near furture a week or so, They are seting me up with a pain clinic and sending all my history and telling them that I do not want narc's. Does anyone know anything about ultracet. I will be gone for a few hours then I will go thur the replies, Thanks to all of you.
Is Ultracet a lot different as far as pain relief? Does it take the pain away like the Lortab does? Any comments or help you can give would really be appreciated. Thanks a million!!
By the way, my blood pressure has always been 110 or 120 over 60 or 70 and today it was way up for me, 150 over 91. Can being on hydrocodone for an extended time do this or is just because my pain level has been high today? Any thoughts or comments on this?
Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
whats ultracet? i know its a pain reliever with tylenol, but does it give you the energy and motivation of vike or percs? I ask because I had to change doctors, and while he wasnt too happy to write for the vicodins i have been on for years, he had no problem with ultracet and he gave me a script.....so im basically asking, do people get addicted to this drug? should i not even start it?
I am in SO much pain!! The doctor did prescribe Tramadol 50 mg instead of Ultracet but it is not helping at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried moist heat, TENS unit, Lidoderm patches, Tramadol, Zanaflex, and even took some leftover hydrocodone 7.5 that I had. NOTHING is touching this TERRIBLE Pain!

My friend and I were talking the other day and she said, "Oh, my mom said a lady at her prayer group said that there was "a new darvocet out on the market now." Of course I am more than curious since my mom just had to stop darvocet herself. My friend then tells me this "new darvocet" is called Ultracet! Can you believe this? I knew this was coming since darvocet was pulled by the FDA, now the drs. are going to start prescribing ultracet/ultram/tramadol alot more.
habit forming and not super powerful in the pain relief arena but very addictive for many people..there is no tylenol in ultram or tramadol/but ultracet has tylenol in it so liver problems if taking alot of them can be a concern....like cathy said..why do u ask?
I am a music minister in an Evangelical Bible Church and have just had my second back surgery. My back feels great! I had unbearable pain for only a year (not much compared to some of the posters on here (7+ years of back pain, how do you do it?)). Throughout my year of pain, my doctor prescribed me hydrocodone (from 5's to eventually 10's) and tramadol 50mg (which I took with tylenol 50/500 - making it basically generic ultracet).
Hey, I am on day 3 and things arn't as bad as I thought, (so far) but I am using ultracet which is a non narcotic that my roommate had left over from a doc's visit! I am also using immodium and it seems to be making it easier on my ***! No offence with the language, hopefully? Anyhow, hang in there, I am!

if he doesn't then it's fair to say he may well have an addiction.
perhaps his stomach issues are related to constipation which can be a side effect of taking narcotics and similar drugs. tramadol isn't classed in the same category as the most powerful opiates but it relies on the same receptors in the brain which i think is what makes it addictive.
Is he underweight?
I just got back from the dr. and he gave me a script for ultracet....I dont know anything about this drug...He said it was in the same family as vicoden...which now has me worried ..I dont want to go from one addiction to another...Is this drug like vicoden? was your tramadol presription for ULTRAM or ULTRACET? If it is/was UltraCET, that contains acetaminophen (tylenol) as well as the tramadol, so therefore, if you took additional tylenol with it, you could have gotten too much of the tylenol ingredient, which could make you sick (and cause liver damage if continued).
