Common Questions and Answers about Does that zegerid good for digest

prilosec

Avatar n tn I was on it 2 times a day for 2 months. It didn't do anything for me, either. But then again, I'm not having much luck with any of them. I've now been on Aciphex for 1 month and it hasn't solved the problem yet. It does make you burp more.
Avatar f tn Hi- I have taken Zegerid and found it to be the best of GERD/acid-reflux med's. They all do take some time, but for me it's the best by a good margin, with Kapidex/Prevacid second. My insurance co. doesn't cover Zegerid as well as they cover Prevacid, but my doctor calls it the "Rolls Royce" of stomach meds.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
290867 tn?1333569278 re going through, as he was just AWFUL the first 6 weeks, screaming that way, for hours.. And trying for hours to poo, as well!
Avatar f tn I have had acid reflux for years now and i have been taking meds for it. My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore.
Avatar f tn My most recent endoscopy and colonoscopy (2008) were all negative for everything they tested for. I will have to see if they tested for that.
Avatar n tn Had ERCP at same time as surgery for stone stuck in common duct. Dr. did ANOTHER ERCP last week - he was sure there was another partial blockage. There was nothing! Now burning pain is worse than ever - I've been on Prilosec, Prevacid, Zegerid, reglan, sucralfate, etc. either got no relief or got worse. Dr. said there was no evidence of GERD during last week's ERCP. I am in constant pain, though I'm able to sleep. Could there be a problem with bile flow?
Avatar n tn Exercise is always good for overall fitness and helps in losing weight, but your food intake with an eye on total calories is important in weight control.
Avatar f tn A pancreatic stone is a stone-like crystal formed from enzymes, proteins and salts that normally are used for digestion, like a gallstone or kidneystones. Cancer are alive cells that just grow where they shouldnt and never stop. The stone probably blocks the flux of the enzymes into the intestine, and that hurts. It can even hurt more, once the tissue gets inflamed and the enzymes digest your pancreas instead of the food in your intestine.
Avatar n tn pylori is a bacteria that is able to live in the harsh environment of the stomach. It is suggested to cause GERD and ulcerations.
Avatar f tn i have been that i might have gerd and was put on zegerid ro see it if works.is that what you would have done?
Avatar f tn My nurse said its O.K to use it during the Tx. But I want to hear from the fellow members that whether this medication is safe and does not interfere the effectiveness of Pegasys. Hopefully some members will advice me on this issue.
Avatar f tn Redrose28 That's bc of heartburn also? Never knew that I had heartburn tums weren't helping at all so ny dr. Prescribed me Omeprazole and it helps but I never knew I could take it if I felt that way. Nannewmom thank you hun! I'll try that as well I do have a ton of apple juice in my pantry hope you get better also your so close to being done!!! Good luck momma!
Avatar f tn Has anyone had to try more then 1 type of medicine to relieve their stomach pain from too much acid, gerd or whatever reason they are on the meds. I tried prevacid for 5 weeks and it didn't help at all. I am now trying prilosec and have been on it for a week now, It does seem to have helped somewhat but I still do have problems. I know some of my problems could be from not eating a lot. I don't know what to eat so sometimes I will skip eating which probably isn't good for my stomach.
Avatar f tn I've been having issues for months. I'm a 37 year old female who was in generally good health until about 7 months ago. I ended up in the ER because I was having heart palpitations. The ER couldn't find anything wrong, and after 2 different cardiologists, two holter monitors, many EKGs and an Echocardiogram, it was determined that I have "harmless" skipped beats (PVCs or PACs).
1657684 tn?1307375035 but sometimes afterwards he does vomit or do some unusually water stools that smell awful. i would really like to know what is good for him and what is not. somethimes he is strangely sweeter than other days and sometimes he has quick tempers. i wonder why?
Avatar m tn what works for one person may not work for another, in my case what works for me 1 week my not work the next, my body gets used to the product- so my Dr. tells me. OTC products can be doubled if the strenght on the box does not work---Try Pepsid AC they have a 10 & 20 mg....(the perscription for that is Axid 300mg)....I have been on them all, but not the ones with Sodium Bicarbonate like Zegerid OTc....
Avatar f tn Hate the chalky taste but they seem to work, so I look past that. If that does not work, try Pepcid, Gaviscon, Prilosec OTC, Omeprazole, Pepto, Zegerid OTC, Equate Acid Relief or Alka-Seltzer. If you do not want to go to the store, try a quick remedy-- baking soda or cold milk. And also, you can use PregEase. It treats morning sickness and heartburn. It is clinically proven a safe choice with natural ingredients, so you do not have to worry about anything harming the little one.
394931 tn?1208115595 i took nexium and then zegerid. they helped me for acid reflux but i just had the nissen surgery 2 weeks ago so i dont take anything anymore...good luck..
Avatar f tn For fast relief from heartburn that is safe for mom and baby mix a teaspoon of baking soda or more if needed with water and drink. Not the best taste but very effective AND works very quickly!
Avatar f tn t the acid reducer that stopped the spasm - it was the drinking of the water! For some reason my esophagus stopped cramping if I started drinking something. So I had to start carrying water everywhere. Fast forward to my diagnosis in 2007. The esophageal spasms had gotten worse and were going around my torso, and sometimes it was just my back that was cramping. Plus my back was numb from above my bra strap to the lumbar region. I started having weak legs.
913937 tn?1243013191 I have had 3 gastric emptying tests, 2 endoscopies and recently have been put on medication. Zegerid for GERD is a miracle drug for me for acid reflux. However, it doesn't do anything for the vomitting. I have tried reglan, erythromyacin, and just received a RX for Domperidon yesterday. Because the reglan didn't work, I am not too thrilled about the possibility of the domperidon working. I have lost 21 pounds in the last 9 weeks and I am at my wits end.
Avatar f tn Well I told him I thought maybe it was my gallbladder so he sent me for a ultrasound (which came back fine no visabal stones) and in the meantime he gave me Zegerid for the burning. It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec. Pain did come back so I took it for 12 days and had major reactions to it. So I again stopped.
709686 tn?1277432159 Hi,..it is possible after time that PPI's stop working for u and can cause issues...I used Prilosec for yrs....when I had flare ups...my last flare it no longer worked...I now take a H2inhibitor instead and it works soooooo much better for me. Not all meds work for everyone.....so we do have to try them and as soon as u have a reaction or side effect call ur dr. BTW- there r H2I's that r OTC...
